sir, I am Ritu from siliguri, I wanna appear in 2025 . And I am preparing with job. In this year , 2022 on 26 th August I have completed my graduation with English Honours from Siliguri College, now I wanna be a civil servant . My father had died for four years and now in my family there are only me and my mother . So, I have to look after my family to do a job as well as I am also preparing for UPSC with your help, sir 🙂. Doing both job and study sometimes I feel demotivated and monotonous , then I watch your videos, read Bhagwat Geeta and feel re freshness, energetic and I begin my journey . Sir, thus I am going ahead towards my goal . I don't what is future but everyone says that never give because life is a journey not a destiny.

In the UPSC Civil Services Examination, the Paper A is conducted before Paper B. The examination process is designed in a way that the candidates first attempt Paper A, and then move on to Paper B

Is it necessary to attempt each and every question of compulsory papers...they have said अनिवार्य to solve all the questions

Just started your preparation with the understanding of upsc syllabus, and read ncerts first , if you come from humanities background so you don't need to read ncert, then go directly for standard books with understanding of previous year question papers and 1 most important thing is newspaper, choose only one either hindu or indian express 👍👍

Modern history:spectrum
Ancient history:RS Sharma
Medieval history:satish chandra
Art and culture: fine arts ncert +selective reading of nitin singhania or you can refer any choching material
Geography:11,12 ncerts very important +coaching material is enough
Economics:nitin Singhania +current affairs
Society:ncert +newspaper is valid enough

All the States from north east are NOT exempted from the language paper in the UPSC Civil services examination.
Only the candidates hailing from north-eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim are exempted from taking the compulsory Indian language paper.
The prime reason for exempting candidates from these States are because there are many indigenous people who belongs to various tribes and use different languages that are neither the official languages of the state nor included in the Schedule VIII of the constitution of India.
In addition, Article 371 A for Nagaland, Article 371 C for Manipur , Article 371 F for Sikkim , Article 371 G for Mizoram, 371 H for Arunachal Pradesh of the Indian constitution provides special provisions to the aforementioned States to protect their customs and culture.
UPSC asks students to appear in any of the Indian languages mentioned in the Schedule VIII of the constitution and none of the languages spoken or written by the indigenous People are officially listed in the constitution, so they automatically get exempted from the criteria of compulsory indian language paper in the civil services examination.
