Soto seems to be enjoying himself. Keep the Yankees an enjoyable place for him to work. Add pieces. Win the World Series or at least get REAL close. Work with him on huge NYC brand deals. And offer him an ungodly sum of money.
Remember Clay Holmes circa 2022. He gave up one earned run in the first half and in the second half couldn't locate his pitches to save his life. Became a righty version of Chapman by losing the strike zone at times. Never knew who'd show up.. I still maintain he's a perfect set-up man.
You resign him by offering him the most money. The only team I could see outbidding for him would be the Cohen-led Mets, yet that would still be a Yankee choice to let him leave. No way Soto would willingly downgrade teams and ballparks and legacy to go to the Mets. The Yankees are in the driver's seat here. Don't go cheap, Hal.
Yeah, there is a way. If the Mets offer him $1 billion he will gladly go there and never win.
These might be my favorite videos you guys do...hope these stick around long term. VOICEMAILS VOICEMAILS VOICEMAILS
Joez kinda going parent mode when the kid called was wholesome af lol very politely explained why Judge won’t be playing first is very understandable tone lol
I feel BBD so hard on Ye
Pause
If we feel Volpe shouldn't be stealing while he's in the leadoff spot, then he shouldn't be in the leadoff spot!!! Stealing is a huge aspect of his value as a ballplayer. He should be 5 or 7 then, setting up for Verdugo and Torres
He needs to get on base more in order to steal bases setting up Soto and Judge for more RBI chances
Bit of a tumble to start. But what a great strong finish.
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix is a very underrated walk out song
23:01 I get BBD’s point about passing the button but you’re simply not going to get hitters as good as Soto & judge coming after them if they get pitched around.
Those are your best opportunities to capitalize with damage
Oui
I believe the Yankees were going to bring up and play gleyber at third in 17’ until he hurt his arm and they traded for Todd Frazier and then they traded for drury to play third and andujar ended up playing well
If the Yanks didn't have Holmes and needed a closer I could see Domiguez or Spencer Jones to Oakland for Miller. As it stands I can't see anything the Yanks would actually offer that Oakalnd would accept. It's a pipe dream basically, though I do believe Miller is for real and is just as badass as he has looked so far. An insane talent.
I love these guys, but I don't see a world where Rizzo and Gleyber are Yankees next year. With a Soto deal pending, a healthy Martian, and a rising star in Jones, this team has a future carved out for themselves.
Judge will be at first just not this year. He was taming ground balls at first in spring training. I’m sure the Yankees told him it’s his future especially if they are going to keep Soto.
Simple sign soto first then let go of rizzo and judge to first or spencer to first. Trade gleyber for prospects DJ to second. Both player contracts will help keep the tax line at bay
I’ve been thinking about this, instead of Auto strike zones. What if an umpire can be dismissed from a ballgame if both managers agree to do so and there’s reasonable grounds to do so. I think it’s a better alternative and would keep the human element in the game
I'm down for both. But your suggestion has absolutely zero chance of happening. The umpires union would fight it tooth and nail.
This idea has been shared all over, and frankly, it's ridiculous.
It’s very simple to re-sign Soto. You have to pay him. Don’t expect him to give you a discount because you are the Yankees.
Next season, let Rizzo go, let Torres walk, trade DJ for whatever, if possible trade Stanton and eat 2/3 of his contract, bring Dominguez, Jones, Peraza, Rice, and Angie Ramirez up.
You’re not trading DJ or Stanton with those contracts, not realistic. And Rizzo has been great
I hope the yanks get soto because if they don't, the dodgers/Phillies/braves might come and get him and become unstoppable
Very small chance of that. None of those teams will be willing to give him the money he's gonna ask for.
@@richard_nj what makes you say that? All of these teams have good ownership, are competitive every year and are at the top of the league in spending on players
@@thetruth9952 The Dodgers just spent over $1.3 Billion on multi year deals last offseason, they're simply not gonna be in on one guy that's gonna cost upwards of $500 million only one year later. The Phillies payroll for 2025 is already bloated, they basically have their entire team on substantial contracts, I struggle to see them adding another $50 million AAV on top of that. And with the Braves, first of all, they really just don't do that kinda thing, their biggest Free Agent contract in team history had a total value of $75.25 million. And secondly, I think they have other needs to adress. Making that rotation work for next year is gonna be a lot higher on the list of priorities than adding another great bat.
@ Mike....the Mets are going to have to a rebuild job. No reason for Soto to endure that. Besides, once you experienced the Yankees, it's a hard act to match. Especially when the alternative is the Mets ?? Come on !

Dominguez/Verdugo/Stanton can platoon. They can each start 2 out of every 3 games with the third game being available off the bench, until someone gets hurt. Why does Dominguez need to be playing every day coming off TJ? Let him focus on his training/rehab on his days off
Yeah, someone is usually a bit banged up at any given point so you will need all five of Judge, Soto, Verdugo, Stanton and Domninguez to get through a season.
Answer: with extreme, anything-you-need, desperation.
I could see the giant and mets pushing hard for juan soto
Probably but there is zero chance he goes to the giants. If not the Yankees then he’s going to the Mets
If Helsley is available I highly doubt the Yankees land him. They just won't be able to outbid other contenders with much stronger farm systems.
@ Sam, mais out. Lol
You’re not getting mason miller for Gleyber. These people are delusional. The other day someone with a Yankee show said mason miller for Everson peraria.
The fuck?
You’re not getting Miller unless you give up Domingues or Spencer jones. Maybe even including Chase Hampton.
The sad truth is, keeping him is really not that feasible. At all. Stanton's gonna be here for another 3-4 years after this season, so by signing Soto, they'd also be forcing Judge to play Center Field everyday deep into his mid 30's. That's not how you're gonna make him last through his contract. And meanwhile, their Top 2 prospects are both highly touted young Outfielders. It just doesn't work well, I don't see how this can make sense as a long term fit.
You dump Stanton and eat his contract, or trade him to San Diego for nothing if he'll waive his no-trade clause.
Once that is done, Judge moves to DH with appearances in right field.
Jasson Dominguez is coming back soon, and he'll be center fielder.
Soto can keep right field and occasionally rotate with Judge in right field.
@@themooseisloose94 I just don't think any ideas about getting rid of Stanton are rooted in reality. Good luck trying to tell your owner that he should eat $76-96 million so that you can spend $500+ million on someone else... Not gonna happen. And Stanton's not waiving his NTC. And especially San Diego is a very weird choice for a potential destination. They just got rid of Soto largely because they couldn't really afford his $31 million on the books this year, so I'm sure they'd love to pay Stanton $32 million in 2025.
trade Gleyber
I think they should be putting Dominguez or Judge into left field and make Verdugo a defensive replacement/4th outfielder.
600 million should do it.
Waaay to much.
@@AnimeBronx you guys can afford it. Ohtani was 700 million and worth every penny. Marketing deals, sell out games, Japan tv deals. Dodgers will recoup 20% of his contract by seasons end.
@@AnimeBronx he'll definitely get $600 mil. He'll be 26 years old. A 15 year deal at $40 mil/year, which is cheap, would bring the total to $600 mil.
So here's a dumb question Yankee fans. Why the hell are they shoving Austin Wells down our throats every other day. Jose' hits two home runs in one game and is hitting near .300 and they bench him for wells. They been doing that almost all season. Why? Ligit, why? Every 3rd day maybe but every other game, and I hate that lefty righty excuse it's ridiculous! It's no doubt a love affair with Wells from Cashman. Another bromance of his like Berdi.
Because they’re trying to prep him to be the full time starter soon, he’s the future.
If you play him once every 3 games you risk making a guy who isn’t useless against lefties useless against lefties
If Soto wants the chance to win championships perpetually he won't try to break the bank with however signs him. A team needs to have money to field a competitive team to win without having to pay high taxes for going over the spending threshold. If he does he will probably spend his career padding his numbers but not winning championships. It's a proving fact especially with the Yankees. Passing the threshold and they won since 2009. Facts are pesky facts but they are FACTS
You offset Juan Soto money by planning on replacing Gleyber & Verdugo (22.9 million) with Peraza & Jasson (1.5 million) as a start.
I still don't trust Holmes. Not until he shows he's confident on the mound.
He's actually a very confident person. Who do you want as closer?
Bros the best relief pitcher in the league rn
Holmes has been great so far, but Mason Miller is in a league of his own as a closer
You don’t. Y’all signed judgey wudgey and his toe.
I love the guys and the show, but the intro has to go. Please.
With Dominguez and Jones arriving VERY soon, I'd rather let the mets have him and sign big pete. Let rizzo go.
That is a terrible idea, why would you not want the better player. Jones can play first if that’s your biggest concern.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but thank god Cashman is in control bc man this is a hot take in the worst way
Jones is hitting .247 with 2 HRs in DOUBLE A.
Still gotta find out if Jones can hit AAA pitching, let alone major league pitching.
