Have the 780 and I love it. Nice warm sounds, even the Pioneer DX 563 dvd player sounds nice and rounded on it. Much more power for my little bedroom than I need…oh well.
I've got the 780 and HPM 900'S. I'm rebuilding the crossovers in the 900's as this is being typed. Right now, I can play it through some Klipsch Heresy's and it sounds great!
6 years ago I purchased a refurbished 850 for my then 9 year old son. I got it for a deal on eBay it arrived with a ding on the wood and the seller was a stand up guy and refunded I think it was $200 off of the sale price making it an even better deal. I want to say I paid 5 or $600 before the discount. I then found myself a 750 on Craigslist 4 yrs ago in awesome survivor condition for $200. I just added a Bluetooth module to it and it was ready to go. I use it as my daily. Still works great! I really prefer the 80 series black VU meters but I could never find a deal on one. I’ll just keep searching.
Beautiful, l love the VU meters. I have a SX636, and 1250 (which are now being refurbished for 450 USD/1000USD respectively, but are complete refurbishments). Pioneer were producing these quality receivers, which had so much quality. Forty plus years later they still hold up well.

I have the 580 the 980 and the 1080 pioneer Sx receivers and I love them all ❤️
I am looking for a 1080 that isn't out of the world priced. All the SX receivers really are great! Thanks for watching.
Hello, did you end your sell the 780? How’s the refurbished 980 holding up? What speakers did you use in this video?
Sold the 780 and the 980 is still great. Sansui 5500i is what I had at the time I think.

They are out there! I always have my eyes open for these. Sometimes in strange places they will be around!@@user-UnMagico

780 and HPM100s are a great combo
There really were some great audio pieces produced! Thanks for watching!
That's what I am running. Love them
Aside from power output, if they sound different, one, or both, of them is defective.
Great video! Recently purchased a 980. Looking to get it worked on!
These vintage Pioneers are worth finding and repairing! Good luck!
You will love it!
Will have a sx980 tomorrow. Thanks for the informative video, great job!
have you enjoyed your 980?
I’ll buy the SX-780
wish I still had it! It was a great receiver. I'm working on a 680 that will hopefully be salvageable. Thanks for watching.
