I may book Holland America just for the lunch. My friends have cruised with them for years. The appetizers alone showed nice attention to detail. Good fried chicken and waffles is not as easy as it looks, yes, waffles need to be crispy and a little maple syrup is a must. Great video, Thank you!
You're very welcome- thank you for the comment! Yeah we've always been impressed with the Holland America food quality. Their ships don't have as many bells and whistles but have very good food & service.

The food looked really good. Nice looking dining room especially looking from the top down. The chandeliers looked beautiful. You described the taste of the food really well. When I saw that veal sandwich, I thought that does not look good lol. Thanks and take care.
Lol yeah a ragout inside a fried exterior- certainly not the best, but apparently it's a Dutch specialty. Thanks so much for the comment as always! 😊
TIL Holland America is a line I need to check out! I've done RCCL, NCL and Princess but we always book Carnival when we bring the whole family and on our most recent Carnival cruise, I realized that I've actually begun to dread the MDR menu. Thanks for showing me something new!

You're very welcome! Yes just let the waiter know and the kitchen will able to make changes to any dish for you. You can even let your travel agent know and they can submit the info ahead of time which can help.
Out of all the cruises you guys went on already what would be your top 3 choice for best food?
That's a tough one. For not having to pay extra (i.e. specialty dining), Holland America, Celebrity & Princess are the top 3. But the others are not far behind. Well, other than MSC, which was a bit lacking, though their specialty dining was really good.

In October I am supposed to be on board…how were the COVID protocols?
If you're vaccinated (even better boosted), and test negative 2 days before the cruise then you're good to go. On the ship masks were required indoors unless eating and drinking, but those requirements might be gone soon, and maybe in October as well.

What is your favorite cruise line for good food?
Holland America for sure, Celebrity, and then Princess…..in that order. I have been cruising for many year and have been on many NCL ships, Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, MSC.😊
@@bluebird2833 thank you for your reply. I have cruised on all of them except for princess and HAL. Next question which cruise line has the best coffee shop? So far I think it’s Celebrity. You? Also which cruise line has the best large buffet selection?
@@roystelzer5466 I’m not a big coffee drinker thus I haven’t explored the coffee shops on cruise ships. As for the buffets: Royal Caribbean has a good combo of large in sizes with good food selections. Holland America, celebrity & Princess offer high quality food with fewer selections. NCL & Carnival have larger buffets with decent food- NCL has better selections. I’ve only been on MSC once and their buffet was the worst with tons of cheap pasta and carbs dishes with chicken, pork and maybe beef- didn’t see a single dish with seafood. However, their daily freshly made pizzas were authentic and phenomenal- best pizzas compared to all the freshly made pizzas on any cruise ship that I have tried.🙂
My question wtf would you eat chicken and waffles without the butter and syrup the butter and syrup with the waffle is supposed to give it the sweet kick with the fatty fried salty chicken kick combination that's why its called chicken and waffles?
Everything looks great but since I’m diabetic I can’t eat that stuff.
