Gosh, this just popped up on my feed. In NZ, I listened to this on the radio on Friday nights before we had a telly while my parents went out to play cards and I babysat my sister and brother. Then there was 'Paul Temple' on Saturday nights. We also listened to 'The Archers' while we ate dinner. The days when radio was so diverse and informative. I love RUclips. Thanks and cheers.
Another Patrick Allen and Sarah Lawson play, can’t go wrong with them. I loved watching both on very many and varied TV series of the 1960s and 70s. Excellent thank you.
Detective one: “We have no real clues or leads besides this bullet they sent me and some threatening letters, but we’ve got to find out who’s doing all this before he kills someone!” Detective two: “yes sir, one last thing… I’m definitely, for sure, 100% being followed by a suspicious man I’ve never seen before today.” Detective one: “wow that’s crazy it sounds like that could be our criminal! I can put a tail on him right away and find out who he is.” Detective two: “nah I don’t think that’s necessary let’s wait a while before we do that” Me:”wtf?”
They ve made 6, but only 3 survived, BBC Clearing their archives again..the Same with some Paul Tempel Radio Plays...! The 3 existing ones are all here!!!
Sadly Sarah Lawson died recently aged 95..... I wish I had never Googled her current status it is always comforting to think these old actors are still alive and drinking hot chocolate somewhere
"Fit the best, fit Everest!!" I'll never forget him doing that advert when i was a kiddy and his wife in this is/was his real life wife!! Great series clichéd to hell but totally addictive!!!
@gordon shewan Sir, forgive my over sight and ur right it was Barrett Housing he did but i wud have sworn on my front teeth that it was Everest but I'd be wrong, wudnt i!!?
Your memory is wrong. Patrick Allen did the Barratt Homes ad, not Everest double glazing (which was fronted by Ted Moult for many years and latterly Craig Doyle). Don’t mislead people.
Two and a half hours in and I really have a sneaking suspicion I know who the bad guy is! Let's just say I think his handkerchief was a convenient ruse. I hope I am wrong!
@@miriamy123 Thanks Miriam, she should reported to Ofcom and a full episode of Points of view dedicated to her child mimicry, not even Jimmy Savile would fall for it
Completely understand you Charles...love this channel, it's got some fantastic audio dramas on it.... thanks for the work uploading them🙏✌️🏴...and now subscribed👍

Too funny. You decided you wish you'd not checked, rather keeping it pure, safeguarded in sweet memory. Then, you...tell us.
Wonderful actress and these recordings areca lasting tribute.
So busy but time for a pint or two for lunch...... I remember it well ....😊

Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
He was in Barret adverts...Ted Moult done the windows.

@Susanne Fitzpatrick i no but thanx for putting me right!! Yeah he did the Barret
Why can't they make series like this today? 😀😀😀 Excellent listening; makes you use your imagination.
Really like this series!
Enjoyed this espoid hope there is more👍👍
Time travel at its best.
Truly enjoying Inspector West.
Much like Paul and Steve Temple. 🦋 m. Illinois
Very loud music! Why?
That is the superintendent Voice from the last play.
Acting as a ex - Villain, that was just set free from 10 years in prison.
That music!
I’d love to have one as my mobile ringtone.
Rest is just perfect.
Next best after Paul Temple.
Two and a half hours in and I really have a sneaking suspicion I know who the bad guy is! Let's just say I think his handkerchief was a convenient ruse. I hope I am wrong!
Other than his irritating kids needing a good slap this was fantastic, cheers
You’re welcome ☺️
One of those irritating kids is played by Judy Bennett who plays Shula in The Archers. She played a lot of kids in radio dramas and all very badly imo

Imagine the Woke crap they would put on in 2022 BBC

@@edwardmorford2202 thank you for your kind words 😊
Jesus. You can't even enjoy a radio play without hating on hypothetical "woke" stuff? Stay off FOX you done lost your mind.
Considering I’m listening to Standby for West in the BBC sounds app in 2023, this is the kind of Woke crap they would put on the BBC about now.
@charlesscpttkelly Okay, boomer.
Wooden acting, awful script ,full cliches.
Thanks for sharing .
Patrick's voice reminds me of Roger Moore.
You're very welcome ☺️
Imagine his Roger Moore impression . Should be spot on … lol 👍
