I sang this in Longmeadow High School back around 1970, choral director was Alfredo Carbonell. Still remember it and sang along with this wonderful recording.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 OMG! I attended LHS 85-86 and the Lyrics of that time performed this and I was mesmerized by the sheer talent of those singers. Nice job guys.
Wow, this recording is incredible. So hard to believe this is a high school. I’m an alum of Longmeadow Lyrics. I believe I have the 1986 recording of this piece on cassette tape!
@@sarafitzgerald8103 If indeed you have the 86 Lyrics version, you have GOLD. Mr Thompson was the director for Lyrics and the Men's Chorus that I was in.
Excellent. Beautiful. Inspiring. We performed this at my high school in Tuskegee AL in the mid sixties. The rendition by this high school choir (Longmeadow Lyrics?) is captivating and majestic!

I was at LHS '72. We performed this and it wasn't as good as this. Kudos.

@@sarafitzgerald8103 I was there from 85-86 and remember the singers from that year. Fantastic group.
So great! I was a freshman and didn’t make Lyrics until the next year. Always wanted to sing this piece with a choir.

Wow, this choir is good. Randall Thompson's music is good but man is it hard.
