Hi friends! I'm Jennifer, a fifty-something wife and mother of 7 children ages 10 - 26. We are Catholic. We homeschool. We cook from scratch. We farm cranberries. We drink coffee. We advocate for Down syndrome awareness. We are loud. We are chaotic.
Here I'll share vlogs about all these things, what I'm doing that works and what I've tried but didn't work. I hope to encourage you in your journey through motherhood, homeschooling, learning to cook, and growing in your faith through it all.

Prayers 🙏🙏For our Farmers
The combination of blueberry and orange has always been one of my favorites!
Thank you for sharing your family life.
♥️👍🙏🤓
I love learning about the cranberry harvest! That is very interesting! Thank you for everything you do! I love cranberries!
Yes I still make cake for my older kids😊
I will forever cherish every single cranberry I see, eat or harvest. So much work and thought to provide a nutritious healthy crop❤
Thank you for the cranberry lesson!!! I loved it!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So glad!
Our farmers work so hard, don’t they??
I’ll be especially thankful for cranberries this year♥️. Thank you to Warren and your family and all the cranberry farmers out there who work so hard to bring us this beautiful and tasty fruit. 🌟
Ps…Your butternut squash crop looks AWESOME! My favorite! 😍
I had wondered about how the ditches worked......very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Happy Birthday 🎊🎂 Jennifer
Happy Birthday Emily hope you have an amazing birthday and lots of love ❤️ 🙏🏻✝️☮️📿much love Cathy
If you snap the end, the string should come out and you just have to pull them off. Hope this helps.
He works very hard, a good husband and Provider, Great video, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching 😊
Always enjoy learning about the cranberry harvest process. Warren works so hard to provide for his family and so do you. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
The land is awesome to say the least ! I enjoy watching your vids , so many activities in one .. Love your family that has become part of mine
I think I'm going to try that taco soup recipe nice simple and nothing unnecessary
Thanks for sharing Jennifer. 😊❤🙏
Ms. Ruby
Thanks for watching!
I live in New Jersey, not far from the Ocean spray company. It was very interesting. The way you went into detail and they really appreciate it.
October they have a big cranberry festival, which is fantastic. I love it because you could buy cranberries right off the truck you could buy cranberry bread, cranberry muffins, etc..
That was the largest zucchini I've ever seen! It is hard to believe that Peter is only 11yo. So mature for his age. Praying his wrist is much better. I have great memories of snapping & pulling strings out of the beans as a kid. Happy Belated Birthday to Emily from the Gordon Girls!! Thanks for all you do
Thank you for sharing everything you do! Sending love and positive vibes to you and your family!
Thank you so much!
@@acountrylifeyou are so welcome!
Peter looks so tall today, he must have had a growing spurt. Happy Birthday to Emily! Watching the harvesting process each year makes me appreciate eating cranberry sauce because families like yours make it possible.
You need a greenhouse so you can start your seeds early and get a longer growing season! I know we have quite a mild spring here in Missouri compared to yours but we can start planting around April here. Maybe you could plant seeds in Early March and put them in the greenhouse until the last frost.
Jennifer...when you snap your beans, you pull that string off
The mandolin music you added through out this video always reminds me of the lovely YT creator, Andrea Mills. She was an awesome mom, wife, home schooler, gardener, cook, herbalist, and Christian. God Bless her sweet soul

I would lay straw down under the pumpkins and watermelons to give them a bed to lay on that is soft and to keep them up off of the ground so that they have a better chance of not rotting in the damp. Nice haul from the garden.
I just love Joe ! Actually all ur kiddos ! They are very polite and just good kids ❤️
Agree!😊💖💙😊
Thanks ♥️
Love your channel
My grown children and my husband and I take him and his husband to lunch and do some kind of activity afterwards
I love the Blue Lake bush beans!
Great video Jennifer!😊 I Always Enjoy..... Maria's dress for church was So Pretty!💞😍💞 Just Love The Brockmans!
Hi Tammi. Have a great night.
Just string the beans before cooking
It was a weird year! It went from tank top to sweatshirt season in 3 days. I found your channel during Souptember. As a cranberry lover, i had to subscribe. Then I found out you’re central Wisconsin! We are near Rhinelander! Hello neighbor ❤. Enjoy your corn!
I'm.making your yummy Vegetable Beef Stew tonight! ❤😋
I have that on my meal plan for next week.
@@acountrylife It turned out SO good! I added minced garlic and Italian herbs to ours...yummy!
Hi Jennifer. Happy Belated Birthday Emily. Seeing how hard Warren and everyone works to bring us cranberries makes me appreciate them all that much more. Chili and Hug & Kiss soup look delicious. Seeing you vacuum your black rug brought back memories--my Mother had a Kirby! Thanks for the hunting heads-up. Have a blessed day.
Happy Birthday Emily.
Hubby planted watermelons end of May. He plucked them from the front yard about 3 weeks ago. I just cut the first one today. It was good. Much better than the bland "seedless" melons in the stores today. Home grown down here in East Tennessee!
My son lives next door to us. It’s nice to have them there.
The chickens will eat whatever isn't ripe! We cleaned out our garden the other day as well.
Great video , thanks Jennifer and Warren ! Soup looks delicious! 🍁🌻🍁
Hug and Kiss soup? That is hilarious.
Love the cranberry harvest videos--so interesting! I love learning where our food comes from.
Warren's comment about hoping we don't go to hell made me laugh. I always joke that I'd be shoveling coal on the fire because I'm always cold. LOL Funny, not funny I guess...
We did similar with bringing in the last of the garden. I pulled all of the corn (we had crow trouble, then ground hogs....so our corn was very late after replanting time and time again....) and we froze some and then made corn cob jelly. We brought in the last of the watermelons and cantaloupes and again, like you, ours did well but came on late. Anyone want watermelon for Halloween? lol
Love your videos! God bless.
Great video! How does Warren decide when to get help for his cranberry farming? Does he always use family, or are there times when you need to hire additional hands? I felt badly that Peter's wrist was injured, but also that Warren was doing the tough job with moving the pipes by himself.
Hey Jennifer,
This week (10/18-10/24) Pick and Save has Folgers coffee for 6.99 weekly digital deal.
Yes! Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!
As empty nesters, I am trying different ways to preserve what we buy so it doesn’t go to waste. I’ve frozen homemade cream of mushroom soup and am now going to try sun dried grape tomatoes. A good watermelon will still be a nice treat!
Sun dried grape tomatoes will be DELICIOUS!!
Thankfully we are close tinier children I often make birthday surprises …..wow what a garden haul….I’m in Ohio our garden has been done…..it’s tilled under ready for next year….yummy taco soup looks delicious…..nice DG haul…..thank you for sharing 😊hi Joe. Great garden helpers you had I hope all are back to healthy…….
Warren has become a Hydrologist !
His degree is in water resource management.
You can make agua fresca with the water melons 😊
I think that is where the term "string bean" comes from. Pull off before cooking. Too much work for me!
Dollar Tree and Dollar General have the calendar stickers too.
How about using the beans dried? Maybe make some leather britches.
That blue, of your church dress, looks great on you!
Just had a thought...maybe Peter could wrap his wrist b4 he does heavy work or ask your doc about a brace to help support it? Some injuries take longer to heal for kids as they are still growing.
Hi Jennifer! Is there ever a time when you prefer ground beef over ground venison?
And, did you grow up eating wild game?
I been getting my kids a birthday cake Bron and they are grown and I still get them a birthday cake they are 34 and 22 ❤
Foaming soap save the bottles the foam happens from the lids I put about two fingers of dish soap and the rest water stop about an inch from the top then press till foam comes out works great just a tip
Lol warren and the I hope I’m not going to hell… I’ll be right over to get some beans and cucumbers… those one beans might be snap beans you snap an end off and the string should pull right out …
I bet that’s what kind of beans they are. Others are commenting the same thing.
These hot days are unusual for us in the UK too Jennifer. Hopefully the winter won’t seem as long.Great video Thankyou everyone. 🇬🇧🥰
I hope so too!
Have any of your children expressed interest in continuing the Cranberry farm after you and Warren?
Great video, Jennifer ❤❤❤
How long have y’all been doing cranberry farming?
Love it Jennifer, as always! God bless.
Thank you! You too!
Just love your videos. A few years ago we planted what we thought were pumpkin plants and ended up with a yard full of decorative gourds. Hundreds! We’re still experimenting with our garden and that was worth a laugh, at least! We haven’t had great luck with melons. They seem to rot before we can harvest them. We’re on the east coast.
I have learned so much about cranberries and all the steps involved in growing them from your videos. I have a new appreciation for cranberries now. As to your tough green beans with strings, it probably was an older variety. In fact some people here in the South refer to them as string beans. When I saw you in a previous video using a knife to cut the ends off, I was surprised as we snap the ends off. If there is a string, you pull it off when you snap the end. Also some of the older varieties get tough when they are on the vine too long. I only have a small backyard garden, but when green beans are coming in I pick them everyday as we prefer young tender beans. As I am discussing regional differences, I have never seen anyone leave that much of the corn “connector” on the ear before. We cut any excess off and use corn holders after it is boiled, roasted, grilled, etc. How do you freeze it with that excess sticking out? Have a good week.
If I freeze corn, I always take it off the cob. I haven’t had great luck freezing whole ears of corn.
love that crochet tank top, beautiful 😊
Thank you! 😊
You'd probably have to do an old fashioned stringing and then cook the beans Southern style, like you get when you stopped in . Tennessee?? When you drove to Florida. Did you try any of the buffets in the South? I don't remember what you ate.
Was the rain enough for Warren to not worry?
Hi Jennifer, been watching for awhile now always enjoy your content. I live in Mi and we grow a french filet bean called Maxibel from Jungs seeds dowonderful here and produce lots great fresh or frozen or canned.
Have you tried stringing them before cooking?
No, but lots of you are getting me on the right path.
It's very cold here, im in Iowa and we did good to hit 60 degrees lately. Nice video Jen ❤
Whats the name of podcast you talked about ? Thank you!! Love your videos!!
I love the "crunchies"
Hello from Minnesota! We really enjoy your videos and we had hug and kiss soup last week. I like it thick just like your kids do. 😘
Hug and kiss soup is one of our favorites! So delicious.
I would like to see you cook duck. My husband cooks it, I think it’s terrible. He only cooks it because I won’t. Don’t know how. I’m great with venison, elk & moose. 😊
Hi Jennifer and sweet family!
Happy Birthday Emily!
Looks like your garden did well. Joe, your so sweet saying good morning kids.
Your blueberry bread looked so good.
Taco soup, hug and kiss soup and chili are good anytime.
Hope Peters wrist is ok.
Cranberry harvest is a lot of work.
Peters happy dance is awesome. Doughnuts are delicious and Krispy Cream doughnuts are my weakness.
Grand babies are so special.
I hope you and your precious family have a blessed night!
You said everything I was thinking 🥰♥️🌟
Love watching your videos, especially the cranberry marsh ones! My son and daughter live close by so I still make them a birthday treat too. Do you or any of the cranberry marshes near you sell fresh cranberries to the public in bulk? I'd like to do some canning.😊
I sell to the public. Tonight is the last day to put in an order. Email me.
Is it the variety of bean, or lack of water, thst made them tough? I use to pull my bean plants n things and give to chickens. You got a nice bounty there! Love your videos!
What is the podcast? I wasn’t sure of the name, sometimes my hearing can prevent me from making out specifics. Thanks
Don't you have to flour the blueberries to keep them from sinking to the bottom? It appears yours did not sink.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Jennifer just curious its been two months when you did a new cookie recipe and a Pioneer woman recipes that you did that its 56:25 you haven't edit yet again this is the last time I am saying that
No offense, but you’re incredibly rude. Coming here and demanding what she do and not do. Everyone can see your comments by clicking your profile. Unless you work for her or pay her for her content, maybe keep your thoughts to yourself. The world doesn’t revolve around you✌🏻
Elizabeth, I wish I knew what recipes you’re referring to. I haven’t made any new Pioneer Woman recipe in a year or longer. I make her BBQ recipe often.
@@acountrylifeshe comments this on several other RUclips channels and nobody ever understands what she is saying and people ask her what she means and she never responds. 🤷♀️
@@merediths9667 thank you for sharing that because I've been a bit confused for a while now.
