    Robin, your voice, maturity and perspective are a breath of fresh air here amongst the RV vloggers. We FT for a year with our kids many years ago. Now we are prepping for retirement and revisiting/considering RV FT. Sold our class A years ago. Our considerations include what type of RV (leaning towards 5th wheel). At this stage in our lives, we see the glass half full before anything else comes into focus. That being true, your voice is contributing to our evaluations. So glad my wife and I found your channel. Carry on.

      That's strange to say. If someone's job is to harass people who've done nothing immoral (no victim) then yeah of course people will be frustrated.
      I don't think it's pragmatic to take frustrations out on rangers, but what they do when they bother people just camping in a way that doesn't hurt the environment, that's not okay.

    Yikes! I know what you mean about the wind! We camped through a storm on Whidby Island (Washington) right next to the water. The wind felt like it would blow our rig right over (and it's 35 feet long.) I finally called the ranger to ask if they had ever had winds strong enough to roll an RV over, and she said they had not. We were there 3 days, and on 2 of those days the winds were so strong that the ferry could not cross the water. We fared all right, but I didn't sleep all that well.

    • @YourMajesty143
      @YourMajesty143 4 года назад +6

      Well technically if you don't own a house, you're not paying residential or property taxes. It's the people who live in the towns who pay the taxes that fix the roads, clean the roads, build bridges, pick up trash, etc. That's why it's important to be respectful when traveling. I try to leave an area that I'm visiting clean and try to avoid disturbing the peace, if I can help it.

So, my plan is to sell it slowly and put away the money and then as I do that I will start my minimalist lifestyle. I am 63, living on Social Security and had to get rid of my car. I just could not afford to live even with a food card of $16.00 and section 8. I am in credit card debt but not badly. I needed to use the credit card for medical expences. Here's a tip: When you are dealing with wind and can't park against a building to use as a wind protector, back into the wind. You have 4 tires, a gas tank and water tank so it's heavy enough. You won't be blown around. If you are not sure of the direction of the wind (in the city look for smoke stacks or trees bending and the opposite direction is the wind. If you are in a sandy area, pick up sand and throw it in the air to see the direction of the wind, a wet finger will also work.

    35 mph winds is considered a light breeze where I live for about 2 months every spring we will have steady winds almost every day from 45 to 75+ mph! Pro tip for RV owners find the direction the wind is expected to blow from and setup camp so the nose is into it like it is being driven down the road also consider doing this when you come across high crosswinds on the road just pull over to the side somewhere and point it into the wind and wait it out until it is safe to travel there won't be anything a forest ranger or any law enforcement can say about it as either as long as the conditions are unsafe for travel in your rig

    Those are cattle guards or car gates, they are to keep cattle or buffalo etc in or out.

      Sigh. Yes...I was talking about the little cars going by, not the grates. Thanks for the comment!

    Wonderful video! Red Rocks is one of my favorite places, and I've photographed it twice now. It's amazing. Good to know there is a place to park if the other areas are full.

    I love your videos, they are awesome. I bought my first 25 ft travel trailer last year and I can't wait to start traveling with it so I can meet some cool people like yourself. I hope we can meet up someday and just sit and chat about the camper life. Have a great week

    Kudos on nice, slow, smooth pans! So many amateur videographers do these fast-motion, MTV-style 'swish pans' where you can't really see much, and you feel seasick to boot! Nice work!
