This chart is probably my favourite in the entire game. The stops and starts are timed well and immensely satisfying then the end run is so fun omgggggg
honestly really good bpm, one they don't do anywhere close to enough, I'm hoping the Challenge chart does more with the 16ths, could be good practice for Valkyrie dimension
So this definitely feels like a higher 16 eith footspeed but in terms of a real challenge, I'm not sure. Maybe a CSP 16. Timing this and remembering the slowdowns/stops won't be that hard either. Fun chart, cant wait to try it.
@@T1MB05L1C3 You're joking right? This chart is WAY harder than almost every 16 in the game and even slightly more difficult than some 17s like Possession and Be a Hero.
@@T1MB05L1C3 Reach the Sky without You and Jomanda are two 17s that are also quite easy to pass for their rating but with gimmicks that arguably easier to predict than the ones in New Era (more so the former), and yet both are 17s because of their gimmicks. Even then, the gimmicks in New Era aren't the only thing that make it tough. The 16th bursts are also what make it difficult. The ending with those patterns comes to mind as its way above the caliber for a 16 with the very fast footspeed needed to make it through that part.
The song is not insanely technical, its a long song that demands a lot of stamina as there is a lack of breaks and constant movement, not even a second to catch your breath. Low 16 in technicality but it earns being a 17 from the physical demands
It's definitely way too hard to be either a 15 or a low 16 with those ongoing streams playing at 240 BPM and those really fast 16th bursts thrown in at the end, not to mention all those slowdowns and stops can catch you off guard on the first play. I'd say this is more comparable to Paranoia Survivor Max CSP with the way those streams play out along with the gimmicks thrown in here and there. If this were to get rerated, I can see this being a high 16, but with DDR's tendency of rating certain charts higher than expected because of those having tons of gimmicks like Chaos TTM and RTSWY, I can see why this was rated as a 17.
Erureido the thing about the stop and slow gimmicks is, unless they don’t flow with the song as well (like chaos), they’re a lot easier to memorize, which makes it easier to pass on future attempts. Also this seems easier than PSMO. The speed gimmicks can only work for so long, and even though new era has 16ths, the streams on paranoia are a whole lot crazier, especially with the plentiful crossovers in them.
@@woof8929 This chart has a decent number of crossovers as well, and I feel it seems like a much more tiring chart compared to PSMO thanks to its high step count for a 17. And by that logic of stops and slowdowns being easy to memorize on a song that would weaken a song's difficulty, RTSWY ESP should be a 16 then because it too has gimmicks that flow well with the song and are just as easy to memorize as New Era's.
I agree. This is absolutely a 15. Take out the 16ths and it's easier than Samurai Shogun. The 16ths make the PFC harder but don't add a whole lot to the passing difficulty. Mid 15.
New Era ESP is not even close to a mid 15 either. It's too tiring for a 15, and the gimmicks scattered throughout the chart make it far trickier to pass on the first try than Samurai Shogun.
I want the step artists to get away from 16th note patterns that stay on 2 arrows. (ex. ULULR, LULUDRDR, and Prey). The 16ths here could have been something like LULRD or RLDUR, which would be better, imo.
Nah, if anything, all of the more recent 17s they released make it clear this is still a 17. Some of the more recent 17s they released are easier than this: like Dual Striker, Megalara Garuda, Rampage Hero CSP, and Snow Garland Fairy.
One of the best 17's ever created.
This is straight up an impresive song and chart, I love it!
Favorite 17 in the game 😭
Combo 376 (1:12) seems kinda like an homage to the Sakura slowdown, though obviously not as painful in terms of timing.
I noticed that too.
0:46 could (technically) be a reference to Lesson by DJ. "D D R" is down-down-right
hi i'm emily agreed.
@@TeamRAR Down Down Right = DDR
Damn all of these "New X" songs are nuts, this one just needs a challenge chart.
Good news for you: it got a Challenge chart in A3!

The slow downs and pauses are nutty
これは楽しいね!
Honestly kind of hope they make a 19 or something out of this. The potential with how hard they could make this since it's at 240 BPM is pretty great.
well it got a shitty 18
this speed of this song makes it technically faster than egoism at 240 rather than 220 16ths, would've been the perfect chance for a 19 wth
Hoping they do a Challenge chart for the 19.
@@moRULEZ18981 exactly
the 16ths in this chart are on par with the initial stream in valkyrie
about:blank it’s definitely a good primer for VD

Maybe a harder 16 with the gimmicks but thats it

I thought it was clean audio for a sec, but good song, not the best of Sota, but good.

400 too slow tho
Ruben Marquez Yeah, c600 is around where I want to go.

DDRでは珍しいBPM帯なだけで、Lv17では簡単な方ですね!
This makes me feel like ORCA ESP 17 is much easier now. Time to memorize this one ☝🏽
MINAKUUU I’m the opposite. I thought this was easy compared to ORCA
Are you sure about that
This is child's play compared to ORCA
That doesn’t feel like a 17 to me, it’s a high 15 or low 16 tbh

Never understood why new era was rated a 17. Its an easy 16 imo
Both the gimmicks and the ending starting from 1:47 are why it's a 17.
Let's revisit this and make it a 16 after what's been out now
