I don’t think your videos so much push consumerism like other people on RUclips - I feel like people may buy products they see you use because they look so great on you. That is what we are all chasing - to look good close up. You teach so that it is super easy to learn. Also, in my own experience, I buy products when I am going through something challenging in my life to make myself feel better about whatever is going on. I am a product junkie and I love trying new things! You also say in your videos that if you don’t need it, don’t buy it - I love that! You are here to educate and not push products which is very rare anywhere on social media these days. Love your honesty! ❤
Okay, Michelle, first off, your makeup looks stunning. Second, I absolutely agree with you about social media pushing consumerism. I do not feel as though you push product at all. I will say people are responsible for what they choose to spend their money on. Now onto VB, I absolutely adore her products, she is definitely high-end. I did get her concealer pen and I really like it. Thank you for a wonderful video and all the hard work you do for us mature gals. You are greatly appreciated.
I love seeing new things, and old things. RUclips seems like the new “commercials” we used to watch during tv shows! You give so much instruction and encouragement and recommendations. The Ulta workers are helpful, but they are all young! Thank you!! ❤
So many things I want to say! First of all, congratulations on your husband getting a job ❤️❤️ Secomd, you are never pushing products at us. I totally agree that as a mature (skin) person I want education. You’re sooo fantastic at it!!!
Preach Michelle... the dupes ain't dupin!!😉🙌🏻 I'm ready for the botox video, I'm so glad you're doing it!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 also, I'd love to hear your story about giving up alcohol! I'm 5 yrs clean & sober... 4/10/2019!❤️🩹🙏🏻 without God, I wouldn't be here today..☺️ Tati just shared her story about alcohol, on RUclips, & it's a beautiful video/story!😇 I loveeeeee this look.. not too many products, but GREAT ones! At 56 I've learned that a few great things are much better (for me) than a lot of okay ones! Thank you for taking the time to do this video.. your truly a gem!🩷💐👑💄💎
Thank you for reviewing for us. The overall look is great, but I agree that other brands, especially Seint, are stunning on you. I especially love your eyes. Maybe the heat from the hairdryer affected your skin. I find I can overheat (likely hormonal) while drying my hair, so I always do my makeup after hair and the touch up the hair if needed. Consumerism is a big problem and social media has made it worse. I think it’s wonderful that you give your opinion. Those who know you can trust it. Everyone can make their own decision, but you have always been conscientious. Congratulations to Rob getting a job he loves. 🎉 and yes, burning up still happens occasionally for me, not as bad but it surprises me when it does. Thanks Michelle. Have a great weekend. ❤
Agreed with everything you said, love to see people speak up and especially about these kinds of things that a lot of people are now afraid to say; faith, truth and reality 👏💕 Aside from that, you look amazing. So beautiful!! I love all your wrinkles and “uneven crepey” skin and lines and texture lol I WISH I could look that good when I reach that age if the Lord permits! VBB is top notch but the artist hand is what truly makes the product shine 😉🩷
Such a great point about consumers looking for what’s next ..for me at 66 I love learning what maybe products from an established product company -I Always can learn something new thank you for you. Educational videos.
I've been using VB Concealer for 6 days now and just a Tad of Seint with VB over and it lasts all day-barely gathers in fine lines after 11 hours as I've worn it that long or longer. Can always pat it out as you have said before and it's perfect! Love the formula and how it feels on the skin. Plus AB claims it will diminish fine lines so we shall see. Love it so far!
Love hearing your honest feelings about consumerism! Its crazy! I agree with you on VB products. The highlighter is fantastic! I love french face its so good on my 65 year old skin❤
I have unsubscribed so many influencers in the last few days because i was feeling overwhelmed with products and i get so confused as to what products they say I need! But don’t worry, you are NOT included in this category. I love your videos and what you mentioned “ i am here for all people” is why so many love you!!😊
I stay home the day my husband has his golf days to enjoy the house to myself....I get it! Remember we are in charge of our spending habits as a mature woman...I like to give the purchase impulse a day to marinate before I purchase or try what I already have and duplicate. Love your work:)
VB eyeliners are like BUTTER!!!❤🎉🎉 I like the higher brands because there's something I can always purchase, even if it's a lipstick 💄 😉 You keep us up to date in all categories and price points❤ You NEVER push anything on us. You are our friend, sipping coffee, DDP or tea and we are having a very relaxed conversation EVERY TIME. Check with your doctor to up your patch strength. I went through the same thing a few months ago. Now I'm hot flash free again.
@maturemakeupmasterclass I'm going to send text you a link to a Bioidentical cream that I used before my patch. I'm going to return to it after this round on my patch.
You aren't pushing... you are educating! I, as many others have learned so much watching your videos. Keep being you! Also, I'm bombarded with RMS Beauty info, maybe a review from you at some point? I totally trust your opinion on products!
No my friend you do not push consumerism. I feel like Instagram is the worst about consumerism. I’m having the hormone issues myself at 74😢 I hate the heat of summer and thrive in winter!!! I love VB’s products especially the highlighter and bronzer and eyeliner pencils. I also am IN LOVE with the Aquafor!!! What a game changer!! I’m so glad he found a job. Mine is here all the time!!! I enjoy his 2 days a week he works for a friend of ours🙌🙌🙌 VB LOOKS GREAT ON YOU🎉🎉🎉
Love your videos! Excellent content. For your reference (I love VB Beauty) the Cheeky Posh in Knickers is VB blush not for lips. But, of course you can use it however your heart desires. ❤
Oh i meant to say i joined ypur master class in the beginning! It is definitely worth the money and i would recommend everyone to get it! So ma y great tips and ideas❤
Here is a thought: I wonder if the concealer needs to be used without the aquaphor under it, because then the skin can’t benefit from the skincare ingredients since the aquaphor is an occlusive?? So maybe without it, it would sink and meld more with the skin?
I like how you review other products. I know you will keep it real and let us know if it is really worth it or not. Even if it is not something I am going to go out and buy, every video I learn a new trick on application, especially for mature skin. I am primarily a Seint user, but always looking for good products Seint may not have. I am excited to see how you did your custom shade with Seint. I did that too by melting some down to make a custom shade. I am no where near a pro, so excited to learn how you did it. Thanks for all you do.
Love your look, but the lipstick you put on is officially the blush and looks great on you. The lipsticks are very small and slim and shiny. They are quite nice. Love the look you made with the eyeliner. Their olive pencil would probably be beautiful on you! I love it
What's next? Whats next?? TOTALLY agree! I feel like I am falling into this as well. Everytime I see a new concealer, including this one! I think maybe this is THE ONE. But the sad truth is that I have dark circles, troughs, puffiness AND lots of lines and wrinkles that NOTHING will ever be able to take care of it. It makes me feel super old and that is why I keep looking. I need to accept how I am. It really is a madness that I can't keep up with. I am finding new creators that are doing more instruction (like you!) and starting to watch them.
Love bougie brands❤ About consumerism, you’re def right abt the “next new high” but it’s so wonderful to try things out to know what really works for mature skin. And that Fizz lip gloss is gorg!
Interesting video, and I so agree with you about rabid consumerism! This year I resolved to use up my (sizable) stash of Lancome products and then replace with affordable brands. I don’t mind seeing what’s new in the Bougie world. But my drastically reduced makeup/skincare budget says I’m going to drugstore brands.
You look beautiful on the video!!! Instead of “Dupe” how about “similar to”. I appreciate luxury but really like to purchase drug store if it performs similar to luxury🥰. Congrats to Rob🎉 and the new job! Can’t wait to see and hear about Seint artist meeting! ❤
You just reminded me of something I have be wanting to ask. I have blonde eyelashes and very short blonde lower lashes so I just don’t put anything on them but if I’m dressing up I smudge shadow or liner there. Will it look funny if I leave it bare? I don’t want to look weird😢
I was thinking about getting some of those eye pencils but so many reviews I’ve read have left me re thinking…….. apparently because they are so soft they are a nightmare to sharpen and refresh the tip. They are too expensive not to be reliable. Regarding the rest of the products I agree with you Michelle the results are just ….ok. Not special enough to warrant the financial outlay when you can get far better results from other high end and even cheaper brands.
Have you tried the Hourglass Veil setting powder? I love that formula. It’s the only powder that my skin can tolerate. I bought the Same VB concealer pen and honestly, I’m not that impressed with it. It is pretty, but far too light for the price point.
I actually watch beauty videos mainly for technique when it comes to cosmetics. I’m definitely influenced way more concerning skincare and tools. Other than that, yeah…I feel like watching is entertaining and sort of feeds into my self care.
Agree with your assessment on her brand also-Vast Mascara did not work well for me-either -YSL is still my#1. many other items also a no but I do like the eyeliner-goes on like butter stays on if setting spray used. Seint Contour is still one of the best in my opinion.
Oh Michelle, I am def a victim of consumerism gluttony! I'm so embarrassed about it, tbh. I think I'm trying to fill a void in my life, just not sure what it is! I'm 61 and sad about it I think!
So Givenchy hasn't changed formula of their powder?! Is VB makeup glowy, and shimmery? I prefer satin with slight sheen. I wonder if Merit day glow is similar to VB highlighter ?
Michelle please do that Botox update because I have my appointment in the beginning of October. This would not have happened better time. Also I have to mention that I too gave up completely alcohol over 2 years ago and it has been the best decision in my adult life…. I am also 57 btw. And not to mention that spouse hanging around all the time 😮 You ❤
Wouldn't Vaseline diminish the wear time, especially around the nose? I cannot get anything to last that covers the end redness of my nose and around the nostrils. I have tried everything pretty much on the market and trick. No matter what an hour or so later the red shows through like I am not wearing anything.
Try Evolution Fruit Sodas & Olipop. Healthy sodas that are delicious. Tropical Mango & Orange is great in Evolution. Rootbeer, Orange, Grape & Cream Soda is good in Olipop. Sold in the refrigerated section. Much better taste wise and health wise than regular soda or pop.
I love you! But I do have to say that the VB sticks you have are blushes ( of course you can wear on your lips) but they are primarily marketed as blushes. Her lipsticks are in a thinner component and are much creamier and shiny. Regarding consumerism , I think we are all responsible for the purchases we make, not the influencer. You’re just showing us options , but then it’s up to us to decide for ourselves what we need vs. what we want, based on our own budgets. I love your education!
@@maturemakeupmasterclass No ma’am. With all due respect, her Posh Lipstick was released in 2020. I will never forget that since it was the year of Covid. Those are marketed as lipsticks, the ones in a much slimmer, smaller bullet and the formula is completely different to the cream blush: the Cheeky Posh cream blush, the ones you have and applied, which were released in 2021 and always marketed as such. She’s never released a product under a different name or title. Then her glosses came after, then her most recent balms. 😊 Trust me, I am a major VBB fan lol it’s one of the few luxury brands I am always up to date with and have tried (and loved) pretty much every single release 👍
I have been a Victoria Beckham fan but more recently I have found products that have better staying power. Her colors are beautiful and easy to apply but not long lasting ☹️
That wasn't a very nice thing to say, that the person that made the comment, that your eyeshadow didn't look blended, was just old and unhappy with life. That just may be what they see or just their opinion. Very pretty look when you finished up. Thanks for all you do for us, to show us how to apply makeup.
Lisa, if you got daily scrutiny from faceless people, you might state the same. I invite you to post yourself 5-6 days a week for a few years and lets revisit this topic. I will be more mindful though of my description of keyboard warriors
I watch a lot of anti-consumerism videos but I also enjoy a beauty video on occasion. I don't watch as many creators as I used to, but I do watch the ones like you that I learn from. It is very tiresome to be constantly sold to.
Oops sent before I could finish. Both colors you mentioned are actually blushes but it’s kind of cool that you use it as a lipstick. Shows its versatility. I kept looking for the lipstick but found them in the blushes on her website.
FYI You are not supposed to pronounce the "t" at the end of YSL's Touche Eclat pen. Just thought I'd give you the heads up n that. lol. Pronounce it like "E-clay."
Oh, I wasnt trying to look different so nothing to be sorry about. i simply wanted to lift sag. My hooded eyes are gone, my jawline isnt mushy any more, my under eyes dont have the deep dents they once did. My neck could be tighter but other than that I am pleased.
Hi Michelle, can you spell the brand of the sponge you used? I could not find it. Personnaly, I love video that educates me on skincare ou makeup but I find that more and more influencers show products on which they make money instead of products they tried and believe in. I would love to see video that revisit great brand like Lancome or others as we cannot always buy new products. I learn so much from you and I am deeply grateful to have found you. 🥰 Thanks Catherine

Thanks for sharing!!
I think cheeky is a blush, not lipstick.
Oops sent before I could finish. Both colors you mentioned are actually blushes but it’s kind of cool that you use it as a lipstick. Shows its versatility. I kept looking for the lipstick but found them in the blushes on her website.
Definitely more like entertainment. Don’t like politics in commercials either.
Ugh! So true ❤
Maybe the “dupe” should be that they are being duped! LOL! I bet the young ones aren’t familiar with that term.
Totally ❤
FYI You are not supposed to pronounce the "t" at the end of YSL's Touche Eclat pen. Just thought I'd give you the heads up n that. lol. Pronounce it like "E-clay."
I used to say e-clay but french people have corrected me.
Its not e-clay, its e-clah, almost sounds like a soft T at the end but the t is not pronounced so that is how I say it.
Form of entertainment and pushing lots of products to buy. And the new every day. And they say ‘you need this”. Ugh.
Yep to all that ❤
So sad that you spent all that money for a facelift. I’m sorry you don’t look much different from before. 😒
Thanks
Catherine
You got it! And the sponge is Cammy Nyugen and you can order it from her website or themakeupaltar.com
