I have been using this time to get SOOO Crystal clear on my vision and these past 3 months have truly blown me away I quit my job My company trippled in revenue in 1 week I just signed the lease on my first office space for my business (and now I can finally get my room back because currently its shipping station with a bed in it haha - boxes, tape and bubble wrap everywhere) My youtube revenue fully supports my expenses so all of the money that my business makes goes right back into the business to grow even faster and i am preparing to hire my first 2 employess (super nervouse but also so excited)! This time locked in has truly been a blessing in disguise and I have grown so much, I am unrecognizable to my old self (just 3 months ago)! It's been insane! 3 months of focus, clarity, and discipline can really change your life!
This pandemic gave me a chance to really try things out and to narrow down what I really want to pursue. To be on the right direction. I watch videos on RUclips about self development, minimalism, art and design. And reading books to help me transisition into adulting. And eating more healthy and practicing yoga to establish a good relationship to my heath because it is really the most valuable asset I can have. I am even more on the right path when I found your RUclips videos because It made me realize that what I want to design is a finished space not the structure of the house. And it's not too late to change career paths. Good day! Thanks for making your videos please don't stop. You inspire me so much!
I am using this time to nest. I am the queen of saying “when I get some time I’m going to.....”. Well I was furloughed a few months ago and it was the gift I never knew I needed. I refinished my kitchen cabinets a beautiful dark walnut and completely cleaned and refreshed my flower beds. I was called back to work a couple weeks ago (which was good) but made a promise to myself to never forget that the key to my wellbeing will always be found in garden soil, sand paper and any other nesting projects I can think of.

Just finished the video, I have been taking the time to reflect on my finances. Working on spending habits and sticking to a budget. I am also focusing on what makes me happy and what do I need to do/change/get rid of to to ensure my happiness
I've been putting processes in place to streamline and automate my business so that the customer experience is top-notch. I'm also trying hard to be more disciplined in my business and not putting things off until the last minute. The economic slowdown has had a positive effect on my business. Being a web designer, businesses without a website or social media management, etc. now realize the importance of an online presence business is defiantly booming for me and I am so grateful.

I've been taking the time to pay attention to the small moments or small details of the people that are closest to me. My children are getting older (1 adolescent and 1 pre-adolescent) and I am so afraid of turning around and finding that they are moving out, off to college, etc. and I missed their "becoming". This time is really really short and really really formative in each of our lives so I have decided that of all the phases in our lives, these next ten years are the one time to prioritize them over every other endeavor in my life.
In Korea, especially, where I live, the pandamic has been really calm. So I didn't really realize why I have to focus on the priorities. I just live the way I lived before. But you just gave me energy to focus!!!! Thanx!!!
I have been working on myself, raising my frequency and self worth. Im at a place where i can say (and believe) that i can get what i want and deserve, and building a miracle based mindset. Its also been in getting to know my truth.

I'm using this time to tap back into my creativity. I love painting and have a degree in photography and in the last two years I have barely painted and I haven't taken 1 photograph. I got into a rut. I'm slowly digging myself out. I'm also finishing my house. Putting some of my creative energy into it has been really good for me.
Another great video Karin. I too have been clearing out my home and home office. I'm an engineer and have been working from home since March. My kids' have also been at home, virtual learning, so we had to reimagine our work space and revamping it. Home maintenance that were put off have finally been tackled. I'm exhausted but I do enjoy making my home better than what it was. I have a better gage on what we need and what we don't really need (too many kids toys, clothing). There is nothing better than to have a nice clean home to live in. Looking forward to more of your videos!!
Hello, personally I just finished designing with my cousin her bedroom, so we just focused on putting simple things and in the end we've got good results, it was really nice action from her to share her designing cause she knows how much I like that profession, and I didn't disappointed her, lol even I'm just beginner.

Hey Karin, let me just start with saying how big of an inspiration you have been on my journey of changing my career to interior design. Just before the New Year I took the leap and quit my job so I can study full time for a few months and then look for a job in the industry. The good thing was that my plan worked and got an offer after 3 months of studying at home, but then the lockdown kicked in. I wasn't too upset because the offer was just postponed, meaning I could stay and study further until the lockdown is over and the job resumes. However it got to the summer and I realised that offer might never resume, so after a few weeks of feeling disheartened and lost, thinking I would never have a job in this economy, I decided to open my website and start my own Interior Design Studio - based online, inspired actually by the times we live in. 2 weeks down the line and I have my first client with quite a big project so when I look at the big picture, it all makes sense. All my effort and perseverance paid off :)
I’ve assessed all the things that weren’t working for me, so last week I moved training spaces, next week I start a new job and moving house next month. A lot of real positive changes coming my way!

I have been using tis challenging times to focus on development of my 4 teenagers making sure they appreciate life n pick up life skills. They are my investment as i go into retirement frm teaching but at same time i refuse to allow my mind to retire as i look forward to more learning process with them. When my job went on pause, I had the time to go back to a fashion project I was working on that I left aside since last year. I made more than 10 shirts now and getting better at my sewing speed! Karin I run a very soul based business that teaches a woman how to take her trauma and tansform it into a stepping stone for her desired future. I have done it for a while, I love it but for years now I have had this nudge to be in the property biz. Property to own for myself but also to design transform and offer it out as a rental expereince. I’ve been taking this time to narrow down what I want to do career wise. I just graduated from university with a degree in interior design. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do but I knew that eventually I wanted to start my own business. But durning these times I’m narrowed down what I want to do for sure, so now I’m looking for residential jobs to help me get some experience before I go off on my own. And hopefully within the next few years I can start my own business doing both residential and commercial work!
I’ve been clearing my mind by redesigning my new room and seeing how everything is going to be laid and how it will fit in the space. I’m also choosing furniture that will mostly match with each other and will go with the color scheme I’m doing

I love all your videos. I'm taking this time to focus on myself and my passions, which is interior design. I'm doing research and self study to seriously consider going back to school and a possible career change into interior design. Thanks for being such an inspiration and motivator.
During this time I first physically went through my stuff and things I was working on and got things done I had been putting off. I am now taking this time to focus on my social media because I am still a design student and when I graduate I want to have a solid port folio! I have also been trying to think of what I want to do with design in the future because I am graduating this year and I want to be ahead of the game!
This period made one thing crystal clear to me. Creative teamwork does not work from home office. Ideas wither online and thrive face to face. So I've decided to create a creative space where my team and I can meet even if we should face another lockdown in winter. (We are getting tested regularly anyways etc. so risk is minimal.) It's OK to do follow ups online but creation has to happen IRL.

This time may be chaotic, but I’m happy right now and using this time to work really hard to build up my clientele and make a profit. I’m having so much fun because I love thrifting. Thank you for the video it was great. My work slowly shifted from searching internet websites to illustrating in my job so I started to study illustration during the covid. We had two times more work than usually as we are trying to stay in husiness during covid so lots of my energy went into finding ways how to manage that. Hiiii Ma'am Karin!!! I'm an incoming 3rd year interior design student and sadly I didn't use this current situation to gain greater potential. It's just now that I pushed myself to work on sample projects, sketches, and other art styles (because online classes will start very soon). Though I've learned things (not interior related) like understanding people, politics, more love, and other matters. I've been socializing too haha (which seems invisible during school days 😂) with my family and friends. I guess it's cool? But will definitely work with my designing coz we're near there. Karin, thank you for this video! It was a great boost to my motivation. I'm currently in design school in New York, and am unable to work because of the pandemic. I've used the time to build my skills. I've worked on Photoshop, Rhino, and Illustrator. I've looked at this time as an opportunity to become the most skilled version of my self.
I love this! I'm starting interior design at university in september and I feel so inspired and excited by everything that you're doing with your business!
I've actually found that for the first time in my life I can save money. Without going to do all the extra things every week my savings account IE my home down payment, has blossomed. I've also spent a lot of time working on what that house is going to look like which in turn keeps my skills up in AutoCAD and Sketchup while the work is not so plentiful. For the first time ever I actually feel like owning my own home might be possible and better that finding my dream job is just a matter of time.
This video is very inspiring. In these times, focusing on what we have rather than what we do not have is what will pull me thru. Despite the circumstances, I think we still have so much.

Good morning Karin:) I'm looking at your video and I cannot believe how Canada is so far ahead in dealing with Covid-19 than we are here in the USA. My industry as a whole was shut down until a couple of weeks ago but by the grace of God, I remained busy. I took this time, like you, to reorganize my office and see where I want to grow my business. In my personal life, we have been house bound for the most part as my family does have underlying health issues so we are being very careful. I am using this time to create a portfolio, get some ducks in line, and save money for school, Rocky Mt School of Design here I come, in a year. I want to do what I was made to do. I had a 13-year detour due to illness but I am a success story, I got a baer regeneration scholarship that may pay for the rest of school. They help people with mental health issues get back into the work world. My health is managed and 4 years ago I finally was put on the right med combo. So I could charge forward with balance and strength. I took CAD classes for engineering but I really do love the aesthetics in homes and designs. So I will be using this time off from the world to practice draw and design. I had this dream since I was 12 when I was 8 I would draft out floor plans of homes our family would vacation in when I was 4. That to me is a gift. I have been working all my life towards it. Working at Home Depot for 7 years. In Plumbing Kitchen and Bath. I have a degree in Residential Planning At the Art Institute Online 2006. Now to finalize my knowledge and get an internship in a design firm. That and watching you is what I am doing.
OMG its been really fun and a little nerve wracking to get in stride with my dreams and desires. I'm really wanting to launch a business that caters to the birth and family planning industries and bringing it all together is making it real. I'm back in design mode and practitioner mode which feels tangible. Some really great opportunities to learn BIM and become a doula have come up so I'm really looking forward to working toward NCIDQ (national licensure here stateside) which has been 10+ years in the making. The good thing was that my plan worked and got an offer after 3 months of studying at home, but then the lockdown kicked in. I wasn't too upset because the offer was just postponed, meaning I could stay and study further until the lockdown is over and the job resumes. However it got to the summer and I realised that offer might never resume, so after a few weeks of feeling disheartened and lost, thinking I would never have a job in this economy, I decided to open my website and start my own Interior Design Studio - based online, inspired actually by the times we live in. 2 weeks down the line and I have my first client with quite a big project so when I look at the big picture, it all makes sense. All my effort and perseverance paid off :)
I’ve assessed all the things that weren’t working for me, so last week I moved training spaces, next week I start a new job and moving house next month. A lot of real positive changes coming my way!
Hi Karin, I find your vlogs so inspiring. I watch them with my morning tea to start my day. What I'm doing right now to move my ID business forward is to gather business info (getting my DBA set up, registering my business name and figuring out how to set up my website [when I have yet to get my first client])., reading books on business and self help (figuring out my blocks to success), and watching your inspirational videos.

When my job went on pause, I had the time to go back to a fashion project I was working on that I left aside since last year. I made more than 10 shirts now and getting better at my sewing speed! I can never get bored of your vlogs. I really like to see you and your team work and interact together. Karin I run a very soul based business that teaches a woman how to take her trauma and tansform it into a stepping stone for her desired future. I have done it for a while, I love it but for years now I have had this nudge to be in the property biz. Property to own for myself but also to design transform and offer it out as a rental expereince. This secret love of mine has now fully taken over to the point where I feel I need to exit from my current biz, pause realign and see how this property calling is gonna come about. I’ve been taking this time to narrow down what I want to do career wise. I just graduated from university with a degree in interior design. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do but I knew that eventually I wanted to start my own business. But durning these times I’m narrowed down what I want to do for sure, so now I’m looking for residential jobs to help me get some experience before I go off on my own. And hopefully within the next few years I can start my own business doing both residential and commercial work!
I’ve been clearing my mind by redesigning my new room and seeing how everything is going to be laid and how it will fit in the space. I’m also choosing furniture that will mostly match with each other and will go with the color scheme I’m doing

Using this time to adjust to a new job as a junior interior designer and finding what I want for my long term goal as a designer!
During this time I first physically went through my stuff and things I was working on and got things done I had been putting off. I am now taking this time to focus on my social media because I am still a design student and when I graduate I want to have a solid port folio! I have also been trying to think of what I want to do with design in the future because I am graduating this year and I want to be ahead of the game!
This period made one thing crystal clear to me. Creative teamwork does not work from home office. Ideas wither online and thrive face to face. So I've decided to create a creative space where my team and I can meet even if we should face another lockdown in winter. (We are getting tested regularly anyways etc. so risk is minimal.) It's OK to do follow ups online but creation has to happen IRL.

I’m using this time to work on my business- which is selling thrifted vintage pieces. This time may be chaotic, but I’m happy right now and using this time to work really hard to build up my clientele and make a profit. I’m having so much fun because I love thrifting.

Thank you for the video it was great. My work slowly shifted from searching internet websites to illustrating in my job so I started to study illustration during the covid. We had two times more work than usually as we are trying to stay in husiness during covid so lots of my energy went into finding ways how to manage that. I figured out how to do creative projects and how to relax better. I work from home for seven years now and to feel like I am together with other people in a team I watch your videos. So thank you once again!

Hiiii Ma'am Karin!!! I'm an incoming 3rd year interior design student and sadly I didn't use this current situation to gain greater potential. It's just now that I pushed myself to work on sample projects, sketches, and other art styles (because online classes will start very soon). Though I've learned things (not interior related) like understanding people, politics, more love, and other matters. I've been socializing too haha (which seems invisible during school days 😂) with my family and friends. I guess it's cool? But will definitely work with my designing coz we're near there. Karin, thank you for this video! It was a great boost to my motivation. I'm currently in design school in New York, and am unable to work because of the pandemic. I've used the time to build my skills. I've worked on Photoshop, Rhino, and Illustrator. I've looked at this time as an opportunity to become the most skilled version of my self.

I've actually found that for the first time in my life I can save money. Without going to do all the extra things every week my savings account IE my home down payment, has blossomed. I've also spent a lot of time working on what that house is going to look like which in turn keeps my skills up in AutoCAD and Sketchup while the work is not so plentiful. For the first time ever I actually feel like owning my own home might be possible and better that finding my dream job is just a matter of time.
This video is very inspiring. In these times, focusing on what we have rather than what we do not have is what will pull me thru. Despite the circumstances, I think we still have so much.

Good morning Karin:) I'm looking at your video and I cannot believe how Canada is so far ahead in dealing with Covid-19 than we are here in the USA. My industry as a whole was shut down until a couple of weeks ago but by the grace of God, I remained busy. I took this time, like you, to reorganize my office and see where I want to grow my business. In my personal life, we have been house bound for the most part as my family does have underlying health issues so we are being very careful. Can't wait to see your next videos on the projects your working on. Hugs:)

I am using this time to create a portfolio, get some ducks in line, and save money for school, Rocky Mt School of Design here I come, in a year. I want to do what I was made to do. I had a 13-year detour due to illness but I am a success story, I got a baer regeneration scholarship that may pay for the rest of school. They help people with mental health issues get back into the work world. My health is managed and 4 years ago I finally was put on the right med combo. So I could charge forward with balance and strength. I took CAD classes for engineering but I really do love the aesthetics in homes and designs. So I will be using this time off from the world to practice draw and design. I had this dream since I was 12 when I was 8 I would draft out floor plans of homes our family would vacation in when I was 4. That to me is a gift. I have been working all my life towards it. Working at Home Depot for 7 years. In Plumbing Kitchen and Bath. I have a degree in Residential Planning At the Art Institute Online 2006. Now to finalize my knowledge and get an internship in a design firm. That and watching you is what I am doing.
OMG its been really fun and a little nerve wracking to get in stride with my dreams and desires. I'm really wanting to launch a business that caters to the birth and family planning industries and bringing it all together is making it real. I'm back in design mode and practitioner mode which feels tangible. Some really great opportunities to learn BIM and become a doula have come up so I'm really looking forward to working toward NCIDQ (national licensure here stateside) which has been 10+ years in the making.
