This is BRILLIANT!! today I have spent 1 and a half hours in Dunelm whilst a very patient shop assistant threaded 9 continuous zips for me. I think I might be paying them a visit very soon. I have just experimented with one, it was sooo easy. Thanks so much. You're a star.

I've been trying many methods today (many video clips), and the only thing that was happening is that my zipper was getting shorter and shorter, until I saw your clip. It went on so easily and quickly. Many thanks.

BRILLIANT! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to post this helpful video. It worked the very first time I tried it, even though my zipper had come apart and was in two separate pieces. I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates people like you who post on RUclips to help others. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So simple - I was dreading using continuous zip but it only took a minute to get the slider on following this. P.S I have used your lined Roman blind tutorial to make 8 or 9 blinds so far! Thank you so much.

This is superb !! I have bought a length of continuous zip and loads of sliders to recover my caravan cushions. Can I put the bl**dy sliders on ??? Hahaha I can now !! Spent about 3 hours last night fiddling with the damn thing and achieved nothing - it's a doddle now I've watched your video - you are a genius xxxxxxxxxxx

This is very useful. I suggest that you tell viewers to put a pin at the bottom first so that the pull doewn't slide off the first time one tries it.

Thank you - my fingers were getting so sore trying to force the slider on to the zip but I managed it first time with these wonderfully clear instructions. You are an absolute gem for sharing this.

I wish I had seen this video two years ago when I bought continuous zip for a project - and spent half a day figuring out how to attach the slider!

hi all you need to do is cut the end of the zip straight, put the glider on backwards, push hard until you hear it clip ( inside glider is a small pin which clicks into the centre of the zip ) then pull them apart and hey Presto the glider works backwards and opens the zip. been doing these for over 30 years.

There's no need to waste bits of zip like this! You can do it without trimming the bits off. One of the great things about continuous zip is that it reduces waste, but not so much if you chuck some in the bin every time...

Thank you so much. At last i can correctly (and neatly) add a continuous zip plus I made it into a double endedzip using the same methods. OK It did take me three goes theading the 2nd foot on before i got the zips to line up evenly but now i can add this to the bags homewares etc that i make -thanks again!

    Hi
I have tried to do this myself - I have put two sliders on but the close the zip as they go towards the middle and open as they are pulled towards the end. I achieved this by putting a slider on at each end.
Sorry I can't be of any more help.

So am i right in saying all the time ive been buying pre-made zips at 90p a pop to make zipped cases - when really i could be saving lots of money, time and effort just buying a roll of zipper tape and a whole load of zip sliders?!

  • @kimt2au

Thanks for the vid. Can anyone tell me how to attach a second slider so that they sit back to back. This formation means that if both sliders meet in the middle of the zip, then the two ends are open; if the sliders are at the ends then the zip is closed.

I wonder if you could possibly offer me some advice or send me in the right direction. I need to figure out how to make an open ended/separating zipper from parts? I'll be buying meters of nylon zipper coil that I will need to create a zipper for use in a winter coat. The top stops seem easy but I can't find instructions for the bottom stops that have it separating. I would also like to make it a double zipper. Would it be easier, harder or different instructions for a metal zipper? Thank you so much for any advice that you can offer!

    • @schuhby
      @schuhby  8 лет назад

+Melanie Drew I would think you'd need a coat zip which have a top and bottom stop to prevent the slider coming off. You can also buy zip stop clamps if using a continuous zip, though I'm not sure where you buy from.

    Hi
You'll need a specialist for this product - Maybe a search on the net for a zip manufacturer. Sorry I can't help any more.
