    Well done for giving it a go.

    I can't believe this little skinny armed twirp spread that spring open as easily as he did. I thought I was tough. I guess I was wrong! LOL!!

    One I have never seen one before. Very interesting on how they set up and kill a small animal. Thank you for the explaining how to set it and how it works. Have a good day

    #1: You're the first person who's explained the reason behind the "110" (& of course, 2 springs makes it a "220", etc.). #2 It'd be helpful to show how the slot in the barrel of the trigger lifts the dog -- there's often some mystery of exactly how the trigger works (and it works from both directions) #3 You can file the cut-out in the dog to adjust / increase sensitivity #4 The chain isn't so much for the trapped animal carrying it away as it is a scavenger carrying your trapped animal AND your trap away! #5 Good production values & sound / #6 THUMBS UP!

    when I set these, I slowly let off of the trap after its set, but I still have enough grip to keep it from going off on my hand if it slips and goes off

    I went in my local outdoors store and did some priceing on steel traps i about fell over.Traps sure has come down in price sense i use to trap years ago. I cant wait untill you get to start setting out your trap line kenny good luck with it this season . I had fun years ago trapping one thing about it if you target the right kind of game you will be able to tan them and hang on the cabin wall. Insulation well it will look good anyhow.IMO a person cant get much better for a wall looks good to me

    You should really hold the spring closer to the trap and grip it kind of hard in case the dog slips. Especially when those traps are well broken in. Otherwise your going to break a finger. I've done it. Lol

  • @Melons-vg8dq

    The bait spit prevented the trap from closing completely. Poor blue jay got stuck and was still alive. Very hard to unstick even with expensive trap setter.

    hey Kenny i dont know if u know this or not but if you stake down the trap with re-bar in an X formation its almost impossible for the animal to take of with your trap

  • @MBSRbushcraft

    Interesting video.
    Here in Holland it's totally illegal to use traps. You can even go to prison for it!
    The only traps that are sold and used in the house are rat of mouse traps. But a trap that kills a mouse or rat (also glue traps) are considered to be animal cruelty and you can also get arrested when using it (if the police finds out). The only way to do something against rodents is using poison or cage traps.
    Trapping for food in survival situations we can only read about in books! :-(

    Sonofagun...I've been working out for 2 years and everyone seems to just grip up these things and close the spring. I STILL can't do it on a 110...damnit.

    • @juniorowsley9633
      @juniorowsley9633 5 лет назад

      I second that can't do it. I've tried a few times.

    • @kenworthNH

      watch the right hand. That's the secret. He's squeezing the spring with his left and the body of the trap with his right. It takes a lot of pressure off.

    Would like to see a video on actually setting the trap, ie. does it get baited? What causes an animal to push the the set? Locate it anywhere or on a trail? That would be very helpful. Thanks.

    • @UpcomingJedi
      @UpcomingJedi 5 лет назад +2

      I make a box/tunnel with the trap between the entrance and bait. Animal pushes trigger getting to the bait and SNAP!

    wow in my opinion, traps are more humane than some hunters is, im not talking about every hunter(!), my grandpa acctually had to shoot a caribou cow, because someone had shot her in the belly so the guts were hanging out...

    Also for hunting there are very strict rules in Holland. It takes about a year of study and training to get a hunting permit and lots of money too. We have a political party called "Animal Party"... That says enough.. The also want to prohibit ritual slaughter of animals for Jews an Muslims.
    I would only kill an animal for food when I really have to and choose the quickest way to kill if possible. Preventing an animal to suffer is a good thing but some people make an animal equal to man.....
