@Marisa Hart i think it just needs a little decor for some personal touch and homy feel but nevertheless, its so practical and very livable for a tiny home 🙂
It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
The thing about container home is that it's flexible, when you need more rooms in future you can just attach another container to the existing one to make additional bedrooms for kids and family area. love the design in this container home, simple and functional and aesthetically pleasing...I really love the fact that the bedroom is not in a loft area and it's a flushing toilet.
That’s a lot of quality for $25,000. What a blessing to have such a skill set to do all the work yourselves. Very impressive indeed. Kudos to you guys and congratulations 👍🏾🙌🏾👌🏾👏🏾
Not sure I believe it, a one-trip container is usually around 10k-15k alone and the AC would be 2k, that in-so-fast insulation is about 3k for a 40ft container walls. Shower stall and panel are around 1k for cheap ones. I would guess they are closer to 40k overall if they did all of the work.
@@williamforsythe5850 I think they end up saving on the container because they didn't have to transport it far. They mentioned that the shipping container store was down the street from them.
@@williamforsythe5850 If you're paying around 10k-15k for one of those, you may want to look somewhere else to buy one. I have a one time use container that I paid less than 3k for, including delivery, and I live in NW Georgia.
Great home, cool couple- but honestly my kudos is for the film itself! You covered everything, showed clips of it being built, and answered questions before they were asked. The quality was great and the music wasn't annoying. Can't wait to see more like it!

There’s one I especially love that a guy made in Florida and is going to college while he lives in it. Best wishes!
why wait till you are out of high school? If you are able start by building things now. dog house, bird house, help the neighbor with his/her home repair [ covid-remodel] and learn all you can now. then during the summer of your jr yr try to buy and start converting a sprinter or ram van for your college years. this gives you mobility and while the van is at the college parking lot you can go out to it during your long break and really get away from school for a break. trust me this is such a luxury. there is nothing like really needing to get away from a bad day or to grab a 45 min nap (that you can laydown and feel completely safe) can be. I had a Econo line van with a futon in the back. I had several classmates that were very jealous that I was able to go out and sleep and restart my day. Good luck you and best wishes.
I am a realtor and I think that is a great idea! I would advise you to just concentrate on saving and working towards the house rather than getting a van first as someone else suggested. A vehicle doesn’t hold its value, but you could build equity with a tiny house. If you have the means and are able to do this, you definitely should. Godspeed
I love the way that you have designed your container home all that lovely storage and space that you have created because of such a good design. May you guys be healthy and happy for the remainder of your lives God bless you
You guys did such an incredibly beautiful design job, not only with the spacial configurations, but also with your colors, shapes, and textures. It is truly a MASTERPIECE of a tiny home!!
I love this tiny house design. Minimal without the feeling of being stark. The home still felt warm and inviting. The use only what you need philosophy was in full effect here. Now if we could get more people to share this idea. Loved your home, wishing you a wonderful future. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Most Dutch people who live in the USA put trash under their sink in the kitchen. For a tiny it's a great idea, instead of having an awkward shaped drawer. Then again in their bathroom they have a back draining sink and the drawers were all flush with each other and just a little lower so that works too. That's the first time I saw a sink set up like that and really like it!
I love the aesthetic: "modern with a touch of farmhouse" and all the practical details in this home! And Courtney so tall and pretty you should be a model 😀
I've lived in rooms with shared commons for so long these tiny houses look huge to me Haha that bathroom sink is genius. Well thought out and beautiful home 😃
Glad you mentioned that sink. How long did it take for a designer to move the drain to the back and turn the P-trap sideways so it doesn't hog all the space underneath? That should become a standard design! I'm 60 and have never had to remove the P-trap, ever.
I think you and your husband need to make these for people to buy, you two did a great job!! You are a awesome designer as well!! I love the shower "splurge" lol amazing.
Who would pay for it? They said it was $25,000 to build and I wouldn't want to get paid less than $10,000 in labor or more. Thats $35,000-$40,000. Would you pay that much?
@@randybobandy9828 I've watched enough of these tours to know people sometimes literally just run a hose and an extension cord from a main house and connect (inexpensively) to existing sewage infrastructure to know what you're saying is simply not true in many cases. There are also lots of people living happily in tiny house communities where they simply pay a monthly lot rental and connect to existing services. I agree though, that it IS something worth considering when estimating costs, and that running brand new infrastructure to a semi-remote plot of land that's never been developed can get quite expensive. For some, those initial set up costs are still worth it to have a new, totally customized home that costs way less than buying a traditional home. To each their own!
@bellaluce7088 sure but that's not something people can do unless you're in a position to live off of other people's property which most aren't. You can't just say "the house costs $40,000" and not factor in the cost of the land or infrastructure. I mean you can just get a nice fifth wheel that's the same size with better features for a fraction.
I didn't like container homes until I saw this video. This couple made strategic, smart choices and designed the best container home I've seen. I appreciated the details they shared about the reasoned choices made. Outstanding video.
This is so incredibly helpful! I live in Florida and I was concerned that a shipping container would get way too hot in this tropical environment. Knowing they are dealing with extreme heat as well reassures me that a shipping container home could be a great option for my husband and I. Congrats to this wonderful couple on creating a stunning home for such an incredibly low cost. Wishing them both many years of happiness in their stunning little house.

For the cost, it's the best designed container home I've seen. True, I'd need another bedroom, but for a childless couple this obviously can work. Very well thought out and cost effective. Well done!
Awesome build. Everything planned out and fits perfect. Even planned ahead for the dogs! The workmanship is incredible. Clearly this couple is very talented and clever.
I love these two! I love them not just because they have crafted a beautiful space, but also because they didn't compromise what they felt was important to do it. I LOVE that! They also are VERY tall! LMAO! I'm 5'5" and I was watching how tall she was in relation to the shower and in relation to the standard doors. It was good to see how she made things that would be comfortable for her to really live! Also, IKEA ROCKS! LOL....I love Ikea!
Beautiful job. Very well thought out. Really like the couch arrangement and pet sleeping station. So many Tiny Home couches look so uncomfortable. Kitchen, workstation, bedroom, living room, bathroom and shower are genius. Very important to make a space feel like home, as well as storage and general convenience of everything. Love it.
This is a very good, laid out design with modern touches ! Some say to add personal touches but it was already done with the their choices of high end looking finishes, like the faucets, great choice of cabinetry, concrete counter top, awesome shower door design and even the ship lap ceiling. Less is more !! If you start putting plants and other decor you make the space feel cramped !! Remember guys and gals, it's only 300 squ ft and you can only fit so much !!
This is as elegant and functionl as any small studio minus the $3-4k monthly rental price. I loved it thank you for sharing. I love how it flows and the colors are simple and elegant as well.
It’s a beautiful small home and probably one of the better container homes I’ve seen. Still a little small for me to be able to handle, but if I got a second one and were able to put two of them together I could do it.
I like this, they just keep it simple. These shipping containers and modular homes, has better exterior protection than most coventional homes with plywood board/vinyl side exteriors imo.
Thanks for emphasizing the advantages to your specific choices. Ikea sink in bath, Ikea cupboards (deep & tall) Super helpful as we decide how we want to press forward in our shipping container home. We want to use several and build a U shape with a deck courtyard as we have property in rural BC where wildlife runs free.
$25,000 is BANANAS for such a nice home!!! 🤩Absolutely love all the well-thought-out solutions like the shower doors, dual-entrance sliding doors for entertaining (!!), touch-free faucets and soap dispenser, wall-mounted "headboard" from wood strips, and even a vacuum-compatible trundle bed for their dogs! ; - D KUDOS Courtney & Riley, on your awesome home! 🏆🏡🏆
EVERYTHING about your container home is LOVELY! If we were younger, I would beg my husband to live in a tiny home…I am most impressed with the clean lines and height/space that this container home offers. You both are so talented also! Love 💕 it!
Wow! I love this!!! I lived in a apartment that was made from a container several years ago during my stay in Afghanistan. I never thought about the fact that I could purchase one and convert it into a home!!
Few things Id change but overall, just a gorgeous and cozy build. One of the nicer container homes Ive seen on RUclips folks. Congratulations and take care.
For $25K, this couple made a stellar home using a 1x used Container. I’ve looked at hundreds of various tiny homes; I must say that this particular one is at the top of my list. For up to two ppl, it truly works…even if twin beds need to go in the bedroom. GREAT 👍🏼 JOB!
I know she mentioned the storage above the bed and how if they have kids one day the storage space will be utilized, but in such a small space where would children sleep?! I always wondered about that with tiny homes! If the family chose to expand, how would they make room! Either way that container is absolutely stunning and i love how every detail was thought out!
I'm wondering, where is all their winter clothing etc? Those cupboards would be full. Seems more like an air bnb to me with empty cupboards. I think some people on these shows blag it & make out they live there but it's a weekend get away space & second income.
I’ve just purchased a 46 foot container to build out my container home. There are also many 48 foot containers. It adds a huge amount of space and is enough for a bedroom at each end
What a wonderful home!! You guys did a fantastic job! It's beautiful, well laid out, and I absolutely LOVE the deck. You have every right to be proud of your home. And Jenna, kudos to you for another great and informative video!! ❤️
Very, very nice! I didn’t see a washer and dryer. Did I miss it? I would go tiny in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, my husband does not feel the same way. So I just live through all the “smart” people who live tiny.😁💞
The main house (we turned it into a vacation rental) has a washer and dryer that we use when there aren't any guests! One could easily be added to the bathroom, it would just cut down on closet space.
Get him to agree to looking for an inexpensive piece of vacation/recreation land...and build a 20'-40' container home on that and then AirBnb it also if the location works for that.
@buttercup Kin I would not be surprised if it is a promotion for an airbnb 'tiny house'. esp. when there is not washer/dryer, it is clear that it is not practical and not designed for full time living.
@@AmbitionStrikes Thanks for replying. I like the double set of sliding doors to and from the deck. I hadn't thought of that, plus it gives more light in such a small space. And that deck is a cozy size. Really great layout all around!
Love the idea of using all those containers that sit at our ports used as a home. We should use them for a homeless camp or maybe a senior citizen Villiage. Hope more people use them.
I never even thought to put the couch facing that way! It opens up the space. Usually you see the couch again the long wall. I'll be taking that idea for my container house.
These two did a great size planning out and designing their tiny house. I love her style, very neat and simple! I think they should start saving for a second slightly smaller shipping container to attach to this unit for when they have kids. I know they will figure out a good layout! Wishing them the best!
What a beautiful container home I absolutely love it...I have to say though at the start of your video when I saw how dry it is and the windmill I thought you were in the Australian Outback lol...thankyou for sharing your container home with us and I hope you have many happy year's ahead 💜
I just saw another shipping container video and the guy there said his was $250k and it was more work than a normal home. I love that there are more affordable ways of getting this done. I’m currently trying to buy land for a container home :)
Beautiful home! Love the colors and materials. I'm not a fan of pass through bathrooms, but I do like all the fixtures, colors and that shower! Great job.
I priced every single bit of turning 5 8x40ft containers side by side. Materials, plumbing, framing, electrician, insulation, everything including permits and land, total diy cost is under 80k. Cant beat that.
This is a great layout. Clean look. Amazing price for the quality. I really like the craftsmanship in the build! You can tell he's good at what he does! Well thought out window layout when it comes to functionality and privacy. I really like this layout. I never really liked lofts in tiny houses, so shipping containers / skoolies have some of the best designs with no stairs.
I really love this place! I grew up in Cambria, so I know how hot it gets in PR in the summer. Wondering if they considered insulating on the exterior of the container, so there would be more room inside? Also, a lot of container homes in Australia put a shade structure over the top to shield from direct sun -- really helps keep the metal roof cooler. Since they probably have hard water, two tips: A squeegee for the shower. A few strokes and you never have to scrub soap scum or hard water build-up. For hard water formations on faucets and in the toilet: white vinegar and baking soda remove hard water marks and deposits from any surface. For serious deposits -- even drinking glasses and coffee cups.
Great video. I really enjoyed the walk through. The woman does remind me of someone who used to be on t.v. shows. They seem to be getting a wonderful life set up for themselves.
This is an AWESOME container tiny!! Love how you did privacy with the windows!😉 With Cali burning, you don't have to worry about your home burning to the ground also!!🤣👍
That looks really comfortable. Me and my spouse would love to sell our big house and have something simple like that. But I think we might need an extra bedroom in case we have some little grandkids!
Apart from being a little sterile with all the white, this is a brilliant little home! Love the deck making the most of that view and the outdoors. Great video
I'm surprised IKEA doesn't sell fully-outfitted container homes. Their US flagship store is in Orange County, and a massive resource for shipping containers is the LA port. Shipping containers can go directly on semi or railway beds for transport.
Nice design the sliding door to the bathroom is very practical here. Good job, nice neutral colors. Hopefully the Liberian government can invest in some of these designs and paint colors. Some that's all. It's helpful and urgent.
Great design and decor one of the best Ive seen - only thing I would chnage is have a corner sofa that pulls out to be a bed for guests but then I wouldnt have the two large dogs, just one small one.
This is by far the most thought out tiny home ever. Straight to the point design. Everything is utilized and practical

Cool to see Courtney and Riley featured here. Really enjoy watching their channel Ambition Strikes!
Love this house. So cleverly laid out. Who needs more?
Thanks for emphasizing the advantages to your specific choices. Ikea sink in bath, Ikea cupboards (deep & tall) Super helpful as we decide how we want to press forward in our shipping container home. We want to use several and build a U shape with a deck courtyard as we have property in rural BC where wildlife runs free.
This home is PERFECT 👌
Love this. You should really think about designing tiny container homes for others. Great job!!
I agree 100% that you guys should design container homes as your creativity will be a tremendous blessings for many people!!!
Very well thought out design. It’s practical, and yet very relaxing. One of the nicest container homes I’ve seen
Good for you that you were able to fit the bedroom instead of a loft. Very nice toilet and shower. Nice
Lovely couple and a great design! Learned a lot of details from this video from folks that really seem to know what they are doing. Thanks!
EVERYTHING about your container home is LOVELY! If we were younger, I would beg my husband to live in a tiny home…I am most impressed with the clean lines and height/space that this container home offers. You both are so talented also! Love 💕 it!
It came out so beautiful, you can see that everything was thought out, and tastefully chosen.
Wow! I love this!!! I lived in a
apartment that was made from a container several years ago during my stay in Afghanistan. I never thought about the fact that I could purchase one and convert it into a home!!
Loved the container home & the couples' way of thinking about downsizing. It was beautifully decorated & designed with great surrounding property.
Love the shiping container so cute!
I wonder if it’s furnished with ikea?
Few things Id change but overall, just a gorgeous and cozy build. One of the nicer container homes Ive seen on RUclips folks. Congratulations and take care.
One of the better kitchens I have seen in a container home.
I absolutely love it straight lines, simple, fuctional...perfect
I love what you're doing highlighting these innovative homes! If you ever need someone to work with you- I'm your girl!!!!
Has to be one of the best container home designs I have seen on YT. Well done, and enjoy your new home. Tiny home living is definately the way forward
My kind of people. Simple, clutter free but elegant.
I’ve seen another family add an additional container to expand for kids and office space. This may be an option for them as well.
they could upgrade to having another one
can add on another container as bedrooms only
I'm wondering, where is all their winter clothing etc? Those cupboards would be full. Seems more like an air bnb to me with empty cupboards. I think some people on these shows blag it & make out they live there but it's a weekend get away space & second income.
I’ve just purchased a 46 foot container to build out my container home. There are also many 48 foot containers. It adds a huge amount of space and is enough for a bedroom at each end
What a smart construction! It is so livable!
Beautiful home. Well thought out. I bet that shoe storage cabinet is quite fragrant.
Great place for a reasonable cost, more than reasonable! I’d like a large shed too
What a wonderful home!! You guys did a fantastic job! It's beautiful, well laid out, and I absolutely LOVE the deck. You have every right to be proud of your home. And Jenna, kudos to you for another great and informative video!! ❤️
Thank you for the kind words!
Nice work! At first I thought it was a creative Commons video.
If he has money, keep him.living in the mansion could be fun.
@@AmbitionStrikes you can install washer dryer outside.
@buttercup Kin I would not be surprised if it is a promotion for an airbnb 'tiny house'. esp. when there is not washer/dryer, it is clear that it is not practical and not designed for full time living.
Oh my gosh!! This has to be the best floor plan in a shipping container house I've seen thus far. I'm saving this video for my sc house plans!
We have loved it so far! The bathroom is super roomy and the kitchen has been great to cook in.
Hope more people use them.
just got my 40ft container from Wuwi Shipping Container very cheap and even paid it upon delivery. cant wait to start working.
Love it, simple, smart, practical. You can’t go wrong with this price. Definitely I got some ideas from you what to build on my property. Thanks guys
I just saw another shipping container video and the guy there said his was $250k and it was more work than a normal home. I love that there are more affordable ways of getting this done. I’m currently trying to buy land for a container home :)
This is stunning! This couple did a spectacular job. I wish I had the talent and the land to build a home like this😀
Beautiful home! Love the colors and materials. I'm not a fan of pass through bathrooms, but I do like all the fixtures, colors and that shower! Great job.
Wow! This is the best container home design!
This tiny home is so well done! They really utilized all space in an efficient way for such a good price!
"[insert literally anything here] was my splurge" lmao. They splurged on a lot. In all seriousness, very nice build!
Very practical and functional design with quality appliances! I love the deck and barbeque!!... Well done and Cheers Guys!
We could see ourselves living there. Great design and love the decor. Thank you Genna🧡
One of the best, so many creative ideas. I love this ❤️🤗
Great video. I really enjoyed the walk through. The woman does remind me of someone who used to be on t.v. shows. They seem to be getting a wonderful life set up for themselves.
This is an AWESOME container tiny!! Love how you did privacy with the windows!😉
With Cali burning, you don't have to worry about your home burning to the ground also!!🤣👍
Thank you for sharing.I really like all of the features that you implemented in this shipping container.
I love this channel its the best when I am bored I see the videos again again!!!!!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰❤
You have done a beautiful job on designing and building this home. It looks like an awesome home to live in. Well done!
Clean, minimal and airy. I love it!
That looks really comfortable. Me and my spouse would love to sell our big house and have something simple like that. But I think we might need an extra bedroom in case we have some little grandkids!
Hope you make more of this. So efficient and economical for single family home 😇
That floor plan is amazing 👍🏽👍🏽
Apart from being a little sterile with all the white, this is a brilliant little home! Love the deck making the most of that view and the outdoors. Great video
Just loved it! Simple, clever and Beautiful home!
Wow they did such an awesome job. I love everything about it.
Such a great IKEA commercial!!
and it is not even marked as a commercial .. but it felt like one ..
I'm surprised IKEA doesn't sell fully-outfitted container homes. Their US flagship store is in Orange County, and a massive resource for shipping containers is the LA port. Shipping containers can go directly on semi or railway beds for transport.
I really, really like this home. So beautifully thought out and constructed.
Just gorgeous. Luxury without the strings attached!
