Fantastic, just bought a Zafira that was impossible to get into first gear, this fixed it and feels like a new gear box, the battery tray is a bit tricky but worth persevering 👍
I drove mine for about 5yrs with an iffy clutch. Just swapped the clutch while I had the engine out and it’s like a different car now. Totally different to drive.

Thank you, It's similar but not the same, the hole is in a different place on the turret for the F17, there is a hole which you can see on part of the linkage away from the main turret (might have to use a mirror to see it) that using a 4.5mm drill bit you lock against the main turret which has a corresponding hole.
Hello after having removed and put back new cables (because cable breaks at the level of the gear lever ) my gears from 1 to 6 go three well ,except that the rearward step passes well but when I press on the accelerator pedal I advance as if I was in 1st and not in rearward walk?

I can at times with no problem but it's become alot worse in short time frame. If I push the clutch all the way in and try to put it in gear you'll hear noise while clutch is still pressed in. Clutch doesn't seem to be the problem or the fly wheel(I don't think). Could you guess the problem bud?
Hi, if you hear noise when the clutch is down it means that the clutch is not actually fully separated, it can be the master or slave cylinder, first try to bleed the clutch system. It can be issue with the linkage like in the video as well, or some damage inside the gearbox.
with my zafira 1.7 2010 its all good but in 3rd when pressing the acellerator the gearstick moved a bit on its own like slightly moving down towards neutral when pressing gas. releasing the gas pedal then it returns to the 3rd gear position. it does is very slightly in 4th but not as much as 3rd. what could be the cause of this do you think?
@@rafailnikoviotis4628 nope its been exactly the same, no change, am thinking it could be the engine mounts as its just the same after 8 months, if it was a cable or gearbox there would be some change with it getting worse etc

Hi, Try to change the gears directly from the selector on top of the gearbox, if they go into gear easily, then it can be the linkage stretched so you need to change that. But try this method, maybe it will fix your problem.
Hello mate, why is my vectra c very hard to engage the gears especially first, second and also reverse when engine is hot, i mean temperature at the middle mark 90. When cold all is good, below the middle mark. DMF is new, clutch and release bearing. Changed by previous owner.
Hi, Do you have the M32 or F40 gearbox? M32 have lots of issues (overheat easily, bad bearings, release bearing, oil level). F40 it's a good gearbox overall. Try to bleed the clutch and brakes, and change the oil in the gearbox.

Hi, in this car the clutch is idraulic so you cannot adjust it (it's possible to adjust the pedal but just slightly). The release bearing on these it is weak as well so it can be that as well. I'll try to make a video when I have a bit of time and the weather is good 😁🌦

So for the zafira 1.8vvt. Sort of the same but not really lol. Do as he’s shows. You don’t have the same turret so can’t get it to stay in place I had my mate hold it I pushed the clips back in left one went in fine the right one broke ! Put a cable tie on it and my mate let go of the turret and No 4th! Cut the cable tie got the white bit loose again at this point the white bit moved down clipped it in and now works fine and didn’t need the cable tie. Think it’s to high if you clip it in with the turret up so lift the turret do the right side then let go and do the right side now my gears feel light and goes into every gear perfect

Hi mate I’ve replaced a clutch on an Astra sri 08 and after two months the gear wouldn’t go into place unless forcefully pushed and it made a loud screeching noise, I tried again 6 months later and now it’s going in to gear but sometimes with a strain and I have to be delicate with the reverse, makes a large clinking sound. Hi, Check the clutch pedal if it travels ok, try to bleed the clutch fluid in case there's air inside, the gear linkage can be stretched so it need replacing, the gearbox itself can be damaged as these are very prone to failure.

Hi, In your car there is a different gearbox. It's the clutch ok? Try to press the clutch pedal and wait 2 seconds before inserting the reverse, and try to replace the oil as well.

@@WhatTube After having seen the video I pu some bearing grease on the linkage unger the gearstick and on the linkage under the hood. My Zafira B petrol unit, lets me get with ease to grease linkage without battery disassembly. The olny thing I'am going to do next week is to take out the battery and supply with grease that thing You puta dril bit. So far a bit of a difference. I'll let You know about further improvements. thx a lot
Probably you done something wrong. Are the 3rd and the 6th gear working? Because if you done something wrong you should have the 3rd and 4th not working or the 5th and 6th not working. It's very strange that in your case is the 4th and the 5th.
@@WhatTube it was my fault but I managed to fix it. Mine doesn't have anything to lock the gearstick in neutral so I had to hold it in place and then push the tabs back in.
i dont understand.. What did you actually adjust?!? All i see, is you removed the linkage cables from the shifter, locked the shifter and gearbox turret to Reverse location, and clicked the cables back on..
Yes, because over time the cable do stretch and the default position will be different, by doing this method we are fixing back to the default position, so all the gears will go in and out smoothly.

Ive got a severe grinding noise over 2k rpm after sccidentally pulling one of them cables, is it possible ive made them go out of line? Will this fit it?
Hi, yes, you can reset them, but if the cable is stretched, then you need to replace them. If the grinding noise is only over 2k rpm, then it can be the gearbox itself. If the noise is just when you shift, then the issue is with the cable.

for my old vivaro any movement with the gearstick like this meant that the clutch/gearbox was on its way out.. i hope its not the case for this

Hi, yes, it can be the linkage, but it can be the gearbox itself as well. The bearings inside this gearbox are not properly designed.

Hi, yes the clip or the spring are broken so you need to replace them. Remove the gear knob cover and you can check it from there.

For the linkage it should be around £100, for a reconditioned gearbox it's at least £400.
Synchromesh in box? New one would be starting at £300 recon even higher if it’s m32
Hi. Would this work on a 60 plate,1.8 5 speed zafira? When cold doesn't want to select gear until after cars been running 10 minutes or so then 1st is tight and reverse grinds a lot

In your car there is a different gearbox.
It's the clutch ok?
Try to press the clutch pedal and wait 2 seconds before inserting the reverse, and try to replace the oil as well.

My Astra J m32 gearbox kick at 1st and 3rd Gear when I engage the clutch. Is it the same problem?? Can I fix it by adjusting this??

I have an Astra J 2013 5 speed manual, sometimes it doesn't go into 1st gear feels like something is blocking it. Will adjusting the linkages stop this?

I have been searching for this clip but no joy yet...

what sort of grease did You use?
Hi, you can use any type of grease, there isn't a specific one.
@@WhatTube After having seen the video I pu some bearing grease on the linkage unger the gearstick and on the linkage under the hood. My Zafira B petrol unit, lets me get with ease to grease linkage without battery disassembly. The olny thing I'am going to do next week is to take out the battery and supply with grease that thing You puta dril bit. So far a bit of a difference. I'll let You know about further improvements. thx a lot

No it's an M32 gearbox but they are very similar.
I just done this and now it won't go into 4th or 5th. Any ideas?
Probably you done something wrong.
Are the 3rd and the 6th gear working?
Because if you done something wrong you should have the 3rd and 4th not working or the 5th and 6th not working. It's very strange that in your case is the 4th and the 5th.
@@WhatTube it was my fault but I managed to fix it. Mine doesn't have anything to lock the gearstick in neutral so I had to hold it in place and then push the tabs back in.

All i see, is you removed the linkage cables from the shifter, locked the shifter and gearbox turret to Reverse location, and clicked the cables back on..
Yes, because over time the cable do stretch and the default position will be different, by doing this method we are fixing back to the default position, so all the gears will go in and out smoothly.

Ive got a severe grinding noise over 2k rpm after sccidentally pulling one of them cables, is it possible ive made them go out of line? Will this fit it?
Hi, yes, you can reset them, but if the cable is stretched, then you need to replace them.
If the grinding noise is only over 2k rpm, then it can be the gearbox itself. If the noise is just when you shift, then the issue is with the cable.
Bonjour apres avoir enlever et remis les cables (car cable casse au niveau du levier de vitesse ) toutes mes vitesse passent tres bien ,sauf que la marche arriere passe bien mais lorsque j appuie sur la pedale d acceleration c est comme si j etais je suis en 1ere et non en marche arriere ??? j ai effectuer vos reglages et lorsque je retire la tige de la tourelle sa et fixe les clips cables au niveau du levier ma tourelle revient au point de départ merci beaucoup
