I don't think I saw that episode where Michael was leaving. Will Ferrell becomes the new boss? I'm kinda glad to know that that was improvised. Makes it all the more heartfelt
About the kissing scene between Michael and Oscar, everyone talks about how amazing Steve's improvisation was, but i feel that few people appreciate how Oscar made this scene even better with his reaction. Boths are great actors.
It is the same principle in pro wrestling. The main dude can be way over the top but would end up looking like a complete clown if the dude he’s fighting doesn’t make every strike and bump look good.
Dwight saying “fuck” being scared by Angela is probably my favourite clip from the entire series it makes me laugh every time, apparently Wilson didn’t know Kinsey was following him and was genuinely surprised to see her.
Holy shit Rainn improvised the beet farm! That became such an iconic role in the show and an identity piece for Dwight. That may be one of the most influential imrpovs I’ve ever heard
Wait also, does this mean Mose was also a result of the improvisation. Because if so, I swear to god this show is beyond almost anything I've ever watched.
@@eshashah6000 the guy who plays mose was one of the original writers along with mindy and aj. They put him in as mose as a gag and they kept writing him in. Apparently he hated it, and the beard hahhaha. He talks about it on office ladies
Why no mention of Angela's improvisation in response to the "I guess I must be the devil". "You are the devil. I'm in hell!" When she cuts in with "You shouldn't joke about that."
@Former Auror it wasn't on it's own of course, but they mentioned jan's improvisation and micheal's reaction but not angela's which was a pretty good response and well in character
I heard that the entire series is improvised. All these random actors just turned up to this empty office building and there also happened to be some camera crew about as well.
Jim’s “Don’t” hit me when I first saw it. As a guy who has been there, that’s the last thing you wanna hear and the way he interrupts her, it’s perfect.
Also, when Dwight is surprised with seeing Michael at his wedding was a surprise to Rainn Wilson. Perhaps not completely unscripted but many actors didn’t know Carell would be there.
When Angela was singing little drummer boy, Dwight was not supposed to hold the mic for her. Angela Kinsey said that she was so nervous to sing in front of others and told Rainn Wilson about it. Rainn improvised the scene where he held the mic and sang the beats along to get her through her nervousness. I think that's really sweet.
I feel like Dwight Schrute was one of the best developed characters in the history of television. It is completely believable knowing that part of the country, right down to his car, his taste in music and his background of an Amish family. I knew folks that were like Dwight. I felt like his character was the most consistent too. This show always made me want to move back to New England. Then reality would always set in.
Dwight is a good character, but people overstate how good he is. He was entertaining, and consistent for a while, but never the best developed. He took a 180 in character traits, and while he was still funny, the show broke realism and became less enjoyable, at least for me. Dwight was a suck up to Michael and was completely socially unaware. There was a scene where he didn't even know where the clitoris was. Suddenly he turned into a womaniser, knew all the buttons to push when it came to Angela and talked back at Michael. Then there was the scene where Jim imitates Dwight to mock him, and Dwight pathetically tries to get back pretending to be Jim, which reenforces his social unawareness. A few seasons later, he is trying to annoy Andy, and understood exactly what buttons to push, pretending to be legacy at Cornell.
@@wonderyearsdouche475 stop commenting “that’s what she said” on everything it doesn’t make sense. if you really are a fan of the office then you’ll understand that joke is only relevant when there is something said that could be interpreted in a different way - mainly sexual.
One improv that you missed was the episode "The Depostion" where Michael pushed Toby's lunch tray during the lunch break. This was confirmed by Paul Liberstine himself.
The speech that Jim gives to Michael right before Michael leaves is a real speech from John to Steve corral. And The teapot lighter is a similar thing it’s a letter from John to Jenna about there time together on the show
Nothing against Will, but I wasn’t a fan at all of him being in that scene where the cast sings to Steve. IMO he didn’t belong there and what he did in the scene wasn’t funny at all. Should have been just the OG cast in that one.
The part with Jan actually was to also add to Jan as she was supposed to be symbolized as the devil during this episode (wearing red and sitting by the fire in that scene specifically)
