    So, my understanding is that:
    1) SMGs, shotguns, and handguns issued to the platoon, if they are ever depicted, are simply depicted like rifle counterparts (i.e. an M590 is the same symbol as the M24).
    2) Combination guns (i.e. underbarrel grenade launchers/shotguns) are depicted differently from standalone systems (i.e. the M79).
    3) The MK48 is still classed as a medium and not light machine gun and the symbol does not change even if the doctrinal role changes.
I hope I have those correct, but if anyone could confirm that, it would be much appreciated.
