This man should be in every English Textbook in the Caribbean because of his writing prowess. Even his introduction is profound "I am alive and well and this is the best day of my life because I am alive and since the only time is NOW. I am seizing the opportunity at this moment to be as well as I can be". What a Gem of a man.
Men like Bob should be honored. What great reasoning. The GOAT of reggae music song writing. I just absolutely love how Rasta look at life. “I’m the happiest I’ve been, because I’m a live.”
I like how he said about the piano as a child "I just casually introduced myself to it, and it slowly revealed itself to me". A real songwriter/poet Mr Andy is!!
Love you Bob Andy you didn't have a good up bringing when you was a kid but you made the best of your life a true legend bless you my friend x love to meet you take care .
Rest in Peace, Brother King Bob Andy. Apprecialove the encouragement and inspiration. Fire burning, still learning, deepest condolences to the family circle. 💖💛🖤💚
Such wisdom one of the great legends of the Reggae music fraternity , and his contributions are numerous , these giants of the music not many left , my condolences to his beloved family and friends, may he rest in peace ❤️🎤🎤👑🎹🥁🎷🎸🪕🎺🇯🇲
Bob Andy is not just a giant of a legend in the reggae music industry but such a kind and decent man as he has been to me as an artist. Very prolific writer and singer he’s sooooo missed. Rest well mi legend ❤️💛💚
Great.... I was fortunate to meet blessed Bob in the air....we talked all the way to Jamaica....also he granted an interview at Besfm on Jahlive program about 10 years ago. His way...his thoughts...his perspective...Jah blessings He is safe.... God is love...he got a lot love
Bob Andy used to spend time with my next door neighbor in the late 80's early 90's in St. Andrew Ja. That's when I learned not to idolize or put another human on a pedestal. He used to be abroad often, but when he visited he spent the time indoors for days on end smoking crack. My neighbor was so enamored with and in awe of this great songwriting genius, several years her elder, that she followed his lead and began smoking crack daily with him. According to her, his explanation was that smoking cocaine promoted "consciousness" but was being suppressed by the "system" lol. Btw, not being negative here...oh I forgot, nothing wrong with embracing negative stuff, which apparently includes using hard drugs too.
I am surprised sad and sorry to hear about that. Part of drug addiction is self delusion. Crack Cocaine is extremely destructive and I am thankful I have been spared from it's temptations.
Nothing wrong with being honest. As much as we can learn not to put a human being on a pedestal, with or without their dark side or their weaknesses, we can realise we are no better no worse. Only the rarest amongst us, the elect of God and their inheritors who strive on the path are lifted above the level of ego desires.
This man is on a different level Of things .....it seems.... is good to hear him talk......wow.... Just different and very interesting. ....one could say....... amazing
He would pass one year later March 2020. He sounds absolutely sharp here and in the Now and Thankful for Life!! I'm privileged to be Born in Jamaica like this great man.

Very interesting perspective...negative can be positive ...why not?😂...start at 0, not 1...great legendary song writer out of Jamaica...his speech is poetic and philosophical...copyright like matter cannot be created or destroyed

Keith Anderson or Bob Andy wrote the deep meaning poetic lyrical song titled "the ghetto stays in the mind" It should really be more widely recognised for the deep truth about humanity that it relates to, but it is too painful, too evocative, too true and therefore it can't be played as an entertainment, which is what most listeners want from their music. I will not speak of my understanding of the song, because possibly it is different from your own, or different even than what was intended by the composer. Many songwriters will say that their songs mean whatever it means to the individual, and that holds true. I invite you dear reader to listen and draw your own conclusion. The song undoubtedly reflects wisdom born from experience. It asks questions, it is a cry from the heart which implores the sufferers to be as one and lift one another up, and only they can free themselves from the spiritual poverty that breeds emnity and despair. As Bob Marley mentioned "none but ourself can free our mind". Ah so it go. These two great sons of Jamaica were musician commentators, who want to call them prophet, they must first learn who or what declares that rank. There have been prophets for every time , for every nation, but the line of prophethood is sealed.

Don't follow the logic, he's just explaining things from his own prospective. He was abandoned as a kids so he was always seeking love and acceptance thru his music.
Don’t knock schooling. It is schooling that provides you with the doctors who will treat you when you’re ill. Bob Andy is getting too deep in the woods in praise of “negative.” Talk about your music and leave the political jumbo jumbo talk. Be positive.

That might explain his diminished coherence in this later life interview
Still a great man of truth.

I’m struggling to follow his “logic.”
Don't follow the logic, he's just explaining things from his own prospective. He was abandoned as a kids so he was always seeking love and acceptance thru his music.
You were formally mis-educated, hence the reason why you are discombobulated 😕
Don’t knock schooling. It is schooling that provides you with the doctors who will treat you when you’re ill. Bob Andy is getting too deep in the woods in praise of “negative.” Talk about your music and leave the political jumbo jumbo talk. Be positive.
Oh yes very very Nice schooling
