Investing since Oct '87 crash taught me to never again ignore the big trends: internet, cloud, mobile computing & now AI. NVIDIA will continue to grow & prosper for many years. My biggest regret is not having the wisdom to never sell my Amz, Google, MS, Apple ... shareholdings.
Nvidia brings in a lot of investors that are new to the market. Which is good. Many of these new investors have margin accounts which they do not understand. A margin account allows you to borrow purchasing power from your broker to buy more stock. This loan is collateralized by the value of your account. When the price of the shares in your account drops your collateral for your loan also shrinks (because they are the same thing). Your broker has the right to sell your shares at the market to protect itself. You agreed to this when you signed the margin agreement. When the broker's computer sells the shares those trades are not limit orders at a specific price, they are market sell orders at the bid. When these orders repeatedly hit the bid they force the price down.
How are we to know if demand will continue, if we don't even know what the charges are, or what the remedy will be, we need a legal expert on this Unique situation
Really? You are questioning whether AI will continue to grow? Nvidia is not a new company - they’ve been in the chip/ graphics card business since the beginning. They’re the best and they’ll continue to be the best- if a competitor is close to replacing them you’ll hear about it years before they do so. Obviously still a great investment
years years years (probably decades), warren buffet advised us to invest in the sp500 and tech stocks. warren buffet is not here to scam us. He is here to help us get rich.
It’s crazy how people dont know the real reason, jensen just removed vesting time period for it’s huge number of employees after the earnings trade selloff. The new selloff is just an indication of the confidence of it’s own employees on it’s further stock growth story.
Or... You have a bunch of engineers (smart people) who own over a million dollars in one stock be smart and diversify their stock portfolio a little so their net worth isn't decided by a single stock (because they're smart). Did I mention it's a smart idea to diversify?
Post a video from Ives or Tom Lee when they ever recommended selling a stock. Even during 2022-2023 when the market tanked….. why post videos of people who are always bullish or always bearish? What insight do they ever provide except they never change their view?
Nobody said AI is just chatbots. Demand will still collapse. And yes, there are some niche markets where gen AI is useful, but the size of these markets is nowhere near where it needs to be to sustain current valuations.
I agree that valuations are unsustainable and that demand will decrease. However, I'm not sure about a, "collapse." The specter that almost no one is talking about is the "machine," in the form of AI making many current vocations held by mortals, obsolete. At the end of the day, machines are more efficient and yield higher productivity than humans.

So, did Bloomberg manipulate the market in real time and we're all going to ignore the elephant in the room?
Absolutely!!
Oh look Bloomberg neglected to retract their Nvidia subpoena headline -AFTER POSTING THERE WAS NO SUBPOENA.

@@TorukMaktoDracarys There's not much substance now to any legal concern IMHO.

Demand will collapse within the next 12 months, once most people will have had the chance to try AI assistants and realised they're rubbish.
Agree on some AI hyped applications, but for in several markets it's a real game changer.
If you think AI is just about chat bots you are sorely misguided

Most people have no idea what GenAI can do. All they see is ChatGPT, but that’s just the tip of iceberg.

Dan Ives is incorrect. Another Cisco in the making
