They did well and I played them daily as a radio announcer when I was on the air. People would even call and request to hear them. And, I still love them to this day.
Their songs have blessed my life more than they will ever know!Thank you 'Witness' for letting God use you to bless the world with your gifts. Thank you sir for posting this music here.
Timeless timeless timeless this was my favorite album of theirs. I thank God for their Ministry got me thru this album stills kicks to this day and years to come I love yall WITNESS!!!
@jessethepful, Agreed. I, along with many other people, have always likened them to the female version of Commissioned. They weren't afraid to take risks with chord structure and harmonies, and they were ridiculous. As you can see, I'm a huge Witness fan. lol!
I'm definitely a fan of witness,, their harmony is ridiculous,, their producer has the perfect musice for them as well great combination,,, I wish I knew what they're doing now???
Yes, Bro Jamaal! I agree, and I'm Commissioned's #1 Male Fan! LOL I once asked Lelah when were they and Commissioned going to hook up and do a Reunion Tour, and she said she was down for it. She said she'd run it by Fred the next time she saw him, but was on Tour in Europe at the time, and that was back in 2016. Michael Brooks, the other half of Commissioned's Production team (with Fred Hammond) produced Witness, and later married Lisa Page (her Sister). That's why the groups sound is so familiar-they are really a Female Version of Commissioned.
I used to love listening to Witness when I was young. I haven't heard them in a long time...Thier songs were so anointed. Thank you sir for downloading all thier songs!!! New subscriber here!❤❤🙏
phenomenal talent , that we where not ready for, The first time I heard this my Brother in Law was playing while he was in the shower on a tape player , I couldn't wait to find out who it was . Since then its been a staple among our entire family. Be Blessed
Needed this one today! Thank you Holy Spirit for the ministry of Witness and the one who posted these songs of deliverance and reflection... I can match and conquer my problems now... I've got a sweet relationship with Jesus the Christ of God!
when i was strong in the Lord this was one of my favorite songs.i was on the net & just decided to see if i could find "Standard". i did , but i also same across this one. i had almost forgot about it, but after listening to it, it was just as powerfull to me as when i first heard it ! thanks for posting it . may God bless you everyone involved in the making of that track !
These ladies are so great and I am spiritual bound. They never made it big because they didn't have a funky beat so all could dance off of and play in the night clubs!
To M Stins, I guess by todays standard they would not be Consider big?? but back in the day they were in the same format with The Wininas and Commissions you dont get no bigger (smile)
I remember Witness very well. I don't think they were at the level of popularity or records sales of the Winans, Commission, Clark Sisters. They were part of the second tier, such as Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Just as talented and anointed but just not the sales of the a for mentioned groups.
kgalford Vanessa Bell Armstrong was definitely NOT "2nd tier" in the mid 80s. Her first album "Peace Be Still" was a MONSTER hit in gospel, garnering a grammy nomination, and her 2nd album "Chosen" spent the FIRST HALF OF 1985 at NUMBER ONE on the gospel charts. Even The Winans big hit "Tomorrow", which was out at the same time, didn't go to number one. When VBA came out she instantly went to A-list status in gospel, and she was definitely out-selling The Clark Sisters and Commissioned at that particular time. Oh, and BTW I LOVE WITNESS! :-)
loopyman76 no one could touch vanessa bell armstrong. i had both albums, but just my perception of the time. It seemed to me that Winans and Clark sisters were more popular and i think concert attendance would bear this out. i do know VBA was an opening act on some dates for the winans. Commissioned did not hit it's peak until early 90s
SoooooGlad that I came across this....This was the BADDEST GROUP EVER
they sound like a full fledge choir and its only four of them WOW!
They did well and I played them daily as a radio announcer when I was on the air. People would even call and request to hear them. And, I still love them to this day.
Simply the best female gospel group of all time: HANDS DOWN!!! Oh Lord Jesus this sounds good....
