In order to establish levels of environmentally compatible control with market requirements , Embrapa Cassava and since 2007 is the monitoring and control of pests and diseases of papaya at the southern end of Bahia.As usually recommended control measures are based expensive in practice , some potentially harmful to the environment , such as the application of fungicides. With the monitoring and control of pests and diseases the result was a reduction of up to 53 % in the number of applications compared to the conventional system.
