Your kestrel didn't kill the other one because they have raider, and you don't, on top of that they get an extra 10% DMG if I remember on room rules and 20% more HP

they both did, just the enemy kestrel actually removed his kestrels defense up. Also raider kestrel does more damage and is almost always better than striker, especially since kestrel goes first.

Defense in all rooms get 20% more Health and 10% more Damage. That is why your Kestrel died, but theirs didn't.
same thing happened to me in war with my 1 diamond level 100 g18 apocalypse. i never took a turn just instant delete.
