Why not just get some rosewood seeds from Central America and grow your own rosewood trees here in the US??

The cost of producing and managing the rose wood trees would be very high. As they would have to get land/facilities to grow them and higher professionals to grow them properly. So it's cheaper for them to buy them from people specialize in the production of rosewood rather than produce it themselves

Because tropical hardwood trees grow in the tropical region. Even if you plant them in Florida, you will probably have a hard time growing them and you may not get a well-developed tree or any trees at all. Just like someone trying to grow Spruce or Maple in Central America, they might get away with it in the cooler, higher ground, but they won't get the same growth and quality as if these same types of trees were grown in the northern hemisphere.
