Single way ticket from city centre to Airport priced at RM 55 (about 12 USD) for a middle income country is very steep. The government decided to construct the airport nearly 50 Km outside the city. Even if the quoted price is "fair" for the distance, authorities need to subsidize it, as they profited from cheaper land price that far away.
If you can spare 20 minutes of your time travelling to and from KLIA (1 or2), I buy you a RM31.70 meal. FIRST, from KLIA to KL Sentral, buy a ticket from KLIA to Salak Tinggi. (Don’t take “Express”, take the “Transit Train”, get out at Salak Tinggi and exit to buy a ticket from Salak Tinggi to KL Sentral, you would realise the tickets are RM4.90 + RM18.30=RM23.20….you saved RM31.70….. you can have a good meal. You can do the same from KL Sentral to the Airport. The next train will come in 20 minutes. Enjoy!

The express train doesn't stop between KLIA and KL Sentral, it will take roughly 30mins.
