He suffers so we don’t have to!
You do the same thing. If you didn't we wouldn't have this wonderful channel!
His suffering is our entertainment, and eventually, his wonderful story! 😂
The words of a man who’s jealous it’s not his flood Bugatti….😂
Incredible
Is this an Easter related thing? ;)
I am stoked to see the 7 year journey that Freddie is going to take to get it finished 😂😂😂
Im stoked to see you shup up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Josmersuero He's being kind, realistically 10+ years.....if finishes
at least 7 years
@Dom1ni1canPlayer it took him forever to finish his first Mclaren. So 7 years is realistic and consider he has to make money alongside fixing the car
Samcrac has a whole yard full of actually unfinished projects, or what about Goon squad? Go troll someone else jerk!
I love Freddy making the "it's on sale, I would be crazy not to buy it at 575" argument to justify it 😂
Haha, I know. When he said that I was thinking...oh it dropped 100k? Nope..25k. Bargain!
Considering it sold for $400 just a couple months prior.
That's the car guy spirit lol. "Okey honey, so hear me out, I actually saved 25k when buying this car! Crazy right?!"

LOL!! 🤣
Watching this is brutal. It’s obviously just such a bad idea. I’m surprised they were even asking over 300k
Bahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
He could have bought it for $400k but that was too much, so instead, he paid $600k. NEXT LEVEL GENIUS
And instead of selling his cars he got a loan, so he’ll pay interest on that 600k
Invests in crypto next 😂
he said the insurance company wanted more money. so he wouldn't have gotten it for 400K..
@@august_619 He specifically said it sold at auction for 398k the 2nd time it was listed and he passed on it. the third time it became available he bought it for 600k. Take notes bro.
This part made no sense to me. Someone else paid $400k for it and sold it to Freddy for $575k? This makes zero sense to me. Outside of RUclips revenue, this car looks virtually valueless. I don't see $5700 worth of usable parts on it, never mind $575,000. I don't get it.
This was truly a horrible idea... Since it isn't my $,$$$,$$$, I am here for it... Good luck Freddie!!!
Makes for great content, no doubt.
Like I'm really trying to be positive myself but.............😢
It's probably best case going to cost similar overall to just buying one to get that one restored to prime condition.
He might be able to part it for $100,000.
@@Ryan_DeWitt yeh but he gets paid to make restoration videos so that would be an amazing deal
Tavarish is seriously challenging Hoovie for the title of "dumbest car channel on RUclips". I don't see a way this will work out, but I'll watch every damn minute of it. Nice win Freddie.
It wont work for make money with the car itself, but it will pay off.
Everyone is going to watch this rebuild. That is why it will work.
Even if it doesn't ever work he will come close to even with the amount of visibility this decision made
Agreed!

Tavarish and his P1 have blown up RUclips with RUclipsrs around the world wanting to collaborate with him. As Freddy said, every man and his dog contacted him about the Maclaren. I think it will pay off for him.
Yes it's a win win for everybody. There are so many RUclipsrs who can do all kinds of stuff like carbon fiber, tesla batteries and on and on
I hope he's got lots of other money, because it will take YEARS to pay the cost and the interest back....
@@edwardfletcher7790 - Just the interest alone on $500k is over $2000/mth, assuming 5%.
I love that Freddie is letting all of his friends make videos with his new car you can tell how excited he is about the project 🙂
Of course, they’re trying to get as much exposure as possible. Gotta pay for that rebuild!
This is undoubtedly going to be the most famous P1 in the auto-industry. If Freddie can pull this off like he did the F&F Lambo, then he'd be on another level.
For real. He will be one of the most famous car rebuilders on RUclips.
I was thinking about that build while watching this video.
He better call Rich Rebuilds for some help lmao. If anyone can bring the EV part of this P1 back to life, it’s Uncle Rich and the electrified garage
Freddie's been in one of Uncle Rich's videos, and Rich has appeared in Car Trek, so I think that collab has to be coming.
@@ischmidt Freddie has been in a couple of Rich’s videos actually. He was even in the final ICE-T video.
It’s all just apart of what I call the Rebuild RUclipsr Cinematic Universe
That was one of my first thoughts as well. What a cool colab that would be.
Trust me.. the battery is already at Rich’s
Chris fix it done a prius battery, he might be able to offer some advice too?
Just considering dealing with a salt immersed car gives me a cold sweat, let alone actually spending half a million to purchase one, I hope Freddie has a strong heart. This is going to be one hell of a trip watching this car be stripped and restored, I hope he gets far more footage with this McLaren.
Well the whole cars made of carbon fiber, not like a normal car
@@devilraydesigns body isnt the problem, its the electronics, modules, ecus, switches, electric motors, the engine and possible even the trans. Salt water attacks electronics like cancer. @@derrekjohnson2919 im sure there's extra P1 electronics on ebay. No im kidding, your right. I didn't know about the certificate thing either
i seen one driving around Minneapolis during winter so its not much different
This project is possible, but you have to ask yourself whether it is worth it. As in a worst case scenario it will bankrupt Tavarish while in a best case scenario Tavarish will break even by selling the cheapest P1 in the world.
Hope that he gets the views, the sponsorship and the partnerships needed to at the very least make this project break even.
For starters, the Florida Title has been branded "Certificate of Destruction", meaning that it's no longer fit for the US roads.
So, only restoration and export to Dubai is the available option
There are states that you can get around a CoD with
I understand sometimes Tavarish just needs to up the ante with his content but this is just nuts... Freshwater flood would be one thing, but salt water flood to the roof of an ungodly expensive car is psychotic. Even with that said I wish him the best of luck and I hope he is able to figure it out for all our enjoyment
Soak in fresh water overnight, remove and shake vigorously, repeat soak, remove shake till damp then immediately insert in wind tunnel for 475 thousand seconds. 🐸.

In all seriousness, this is going to be great content, and I can't wait to see you rebuild it. I've subscribed to your channel the moment I found out you bought the car. I'm sure your channel and views will grow considerably with this. It's an investment.
You gotta admire a guy taking such a huge challenge. And knowing what Freddy has done, I am looking forward to seeing you fire up that beast and spinning some donuts! I first took notice when you rebuilt the Gallardo. Good luck on the rebuild.
Freddie is betting on himself by taking on this project because he will need to drastically increase his RUclips numbers in order to be able to pay for this build. He thinks he can do it. I think he’s on the right track for success! Go Freddie!!🎉
His 2 videos on it so far are getting solid viewing numbers in the millions. If he makes 2-3 videos a week on it he'll get that money back no problem
It's a business expense. If it's a huge paper loss, that loss will be carried forwards, for decades if needed, sort of like Trumpy "losing" a billion dollars on a NJ casino. In the world of rich people lawyers and accountants there are so many ways to make loss work for you.
I'm in Fort Myers, FL, where Ian hit the hardest. Devastating disaster that's being undersold nationally. Was one of the worst storms to ever hit the US. Anyways, I live about 30 minutes away from Bonita where this P1 was for sale, and I remember seeing the car at Gulf Coast Motorworks' Cars & Coffee the month prior. Such a beautiful car, Volcano Yellow with the chrome wheels, amongst many spectacular cars in the Naples-Bonita-Fort Myers area. Owner had the car for just about a week unbelievably. It's surreal to see this car take the community by storm (no pun intended) considering I saw it here and there throughout 2022. This has been a fun story to track, best of luck to Tavarish, hopefully that car can return to its former glory as I once saw it.
I'm sure this was explained _somewhere_ but I wouldn't know where to start digging... Did the original owner just not anticipate the storm surge would reach his garage? Or was there some other reason he wasn't able to move the car before the storm struck?
@@RailRide - I don’t think anybody in the Naples area anticipated storm surge like that. He was prepped to ride it out.

Massive respect to Tavarish for engaging in this project. I have no skin in this, but even I'm nervous for him.
What I want to know is how did the second auction end at $375k, but he spent $200k more in the third?

I would have a problem buying this car knowing the person that bought it before me payed 400k and now I’m going to get up-charged 175k.
Gets advertised for $400k but its too far out of his budget.
Gets relisted for $600k and then its TAKE MY MONEY
Shmee told me yesterday that the video he filmed with Freddy was quite a while ago and he had already flown back to London twice. Which means on Shmee's video when we've seen the car after dry ice treatment it is a few months old. So the last video we've seen on Freddy's channel of him getting the car is several months old already and hopefully he is further along then what we think.
I didn't have any words with Schmee, but listening to Freddy talk, it was almost immediately apparent that the first video was mostly shot a long time ago and he'd been sitting on it. I wonder how far along the car itself is, at this point. Or rather, how much he's managed to clean up
Also, Tavarish's 720 is still in operation and with 1200 miles on it per the Shmee video. When Freddy blew its engine up, he said it had 1500 miles since his rebuild. So the timeline is all mixed up.
@@adriandrake2720 that's a 675LT not 720S. Vtuned rebuilt a 720S and Freddy built a 675LT. I think you got your creators mixed up
You didn't buy it at 400,000 but thought it was a great buy at 575,000. That certainly makes sense
Didn't Manny Khoshbin send his McLaren back to Woking to have the body completely replaced when he went from the blue/purple to the matte black or something like that? I think he ended up keeping all the body panels too, or he mentioned he did in one of his videos. It might be worth reaching out to him to see if it's true and he'd want to maybe sell it to you to help the build. But everyone is cheering for you Freddie and excited about this build.
He had custom exposed carbon fiber body made, so one off
I promise to watch and like every video he does on this car because it deserves to be fixed up.
I’m soooooo looking forward to watching every minute of this project! Hopefully, Freddie will make bank on all the videos to help fund his mission!
This would be a fantastic project for McLaren to assist with along with many other sponsors!!! Hope this happens. Consultants for tips etc etc. Good luck best wishes bro!!!!
it would be sick if mclaren got involved but i wont be holding my breath lmao
Why would they ever get involved? They aren't a new company, they don't need the extra exposure. They gain very little for giving their own money to help out some guy on RUclips.
On Shmee150 video he said that they are watching and probably will help.
Mclaren is notorious for not helping and this is just beyond repair. This car would need total rebuild and that body alone is totaled and that alone would make mclaren to stay away because it will be structural weakness unless tavarish is willing to pay few million for mclaren to rebuild this it will never be rebuild. Just lost cause.
@@ryanturner3432 I'm with you, they don't need the exposure. However, I do think it would probably be a small price for them to pay to win major brand loyalty going forward. /shrug

Did you consider ordering custom made battery? The best company for that would be Rimac ,the are responsible for battery in Aston Martin Valkyrie which is nuts in case of the specs. It's long shoot but they might be interested in developing something like that as a product.
the actually battery part would be easy to do custom. just idk about resale etc and cooling and mclaren eletric system integration
Manny khosbin has his white panels laying around when he changed his p1 to matte carbon panels
Biggest surprise to me is that insurance company still expected such high amount for car damaged by salt water. I already anticipated that getting replacement parts alone would become quite expensive as this is not a typical mass produced car
After seeing his video last week, along with the video on his bachelor pad with the super huge money pit swimming pool, this man gets ahead of his skis very easily.
Freddie has a damn good track record for this kind of project.
I think it is insane that a guy that could afford a $2million mclaren and a rolls Royce couldn’t afford to put his cars up out of the water.
They don't care, if it's insured. They also don't understand the power of a storm surge. The water rose 13.8 ft. along Ft. Meyers Beach, the highest ever recorded in over 150 years.
He didn't want to, let the insurance pay for it and change his life style. It's rich people dreams, just collect and move on to the next adventure.
On the third floor?
The Hurricane hitting where it did was a total surprise, all week it was heading to the panhandle/Tampa area…. This is way south of that and should have been ok if it did not turn last min and then it was too late to move them. That’s why the super birds got trashed and so many others.
I doubt in this case he didn't care and just relied on insurance....he had bought it 2 weeks earlier and it was the lowest mile example known at 305 miles.
There’s no way in hell you can register or insure a flooded vehicle in this world, it is impossible to register it, there’s soo many sad stories of decent people crying because they didn’t know there’s no way in hell you can’t register a flooded title vehicle!
Thats not true there are plenty of companies that will insure a rebuilt salvage title. If he is able to get McLaren to inspect the vehicle afterwards and they give it their seal of approval then I would imagine most insurance companies would cover a rebuild with the manufacturer seal of approval, regardless of previous damage. Also that black cloud of salvage wouldnt matter as much if he does a complete rebuild and then sells the car to someone in Europe, where it would have to go through a complete inspection upon entering the country. Salvage titles get a bad rap because generally to purchasing party either doesnt repair the vehicle or half ass repairs the vehicle. Im certain after spending half a mil on this car Freddie will make sure the rebuild is 100% otherwise what was the point.
Be prepared; 2am staring at the ceiling in cold sweat. I once saw a Holden (locally made GM product) pulled from an irrigation channel and put back on the road. Everything failed; door locks, all the switch gear, the seat springs rusted, head lining fell out...everything top to bottom - front to back. Comprehensively rooted...
Good god, this might take longer then Binky on BOM to complete! Good luck Freddie, if anyone can pull this off it’s you.
In my 30years of insurance/bodyshop/junk jobs, the salvage price should be 20% of the uncrashed value.
Good luck
Maybe someone at the insurance company could see $$$$
Do you mean the purchase price as-is or the value once fixed and resold?
So he got it for like 26% not that far off
It's relatively close to 20%, but I would assume that it's a bit higher for collector cars like this one.
That is with a rebuildable title, not a certificate of destruction.
If he'd make more than one video every 4 months he'd have better numbers.
Freddy is the one who got me addicted to car RUclips. I'd love to see more than two videos of the build.
Rebuilding totaled supercars has become more commonplace on RUclips, but a saltwater flood hypercar? I'm legitimately excited for the next video about this P1
I'll never understand why the original owner didn't move the car when he knew a flood was likely coming. Park in a multistory parking garage if you have to. Do something, anything.
Good luck to you Freddie! You're a legend for risking to buy this!
The Copart listing showed a Florida destruction title - which means a parts only car that can’t be registered anywhere in the USA. How are you planning to get around this issue?
yeah would probably tough too to order original parts from the dealers with a title like that.
Rumor is Zak Brown from McLaren has been in contact with Freddie asking if he can help in a way. Freddie also has been to London twice apparently according to another RUclipsr.
buying this for that price sight unseen is insane.
This P1 is the unit off all the bests youtubers in this epic project!!! Tavarish will do this Job for us all
So many horrible decisions were made and yet I can’t wait to see how this turned out
I _REALLY_ hope this project works out the way he wants it to. I mean I have no doubt that he'll put it back together, but I really want to see him be completely happy with this when it's done.
I wish he would comment on the CERTIFICATE OF DESTRUCTION and what he plans to do with the car.
As a guy who is still dealing with the aftermath of Ian, a hurricane is def not a clean thing.😢 As a surfer tho, I’m always looking for the positive from the negative…
Just glad Tavarish got this project!
If McLaren was smart, they would see the passion and determination then lend Freddy a hand. Imagine the PR if they stepped in and offered him free body panels or something.
not gonna happen with the free stuff. probably help with sourcing at the most.
Don't see that happening. Them helping, thus legitimizing the rebuild goes against the value of the rest of the P1s in existence.
Mclaren would be lowering the value of the rest of the P1 pool.
God bless Tavarish with his finances on this project...... but it is going to be the best restoration of all time of a car we all grew up dreaming of owning one. Fingers Crossed buddy 🤞🤞🤞🤞
In my opinion, exotic cars that hv been fully submerged should be considered as "expensive scrap". My deepest respect to Tavarish. Such car wrecks should sell for just between $50,000 to $150,000
Tav makes the claim he's not financially minded, yet he buys the most famous damaged Mclaren in recent time. He knows the repair of this car will get milti millions of eye balls, resulting in even more channel revenue.
Most interesting project of Tavarish
Tavarish got balls!! I'll be watching everything about this rebuild, already watched the show, Shmee150 and vinwiki 🤣 wish him all the best 👍👍👍
I wonder how much damage was caused by the folks moving the car around versus the storm itself.
A bit of a different price but we had an old customer who had a low mileage immaculate VW Passat , he drove it into a shallow ditch, cracking the number plate and putting water in the headlights, that was the only damage, until the tow company came, wound down the front windows and put a strap through , lifting it out by the roof !!!
