Lots of really interesting nonfiction in this round of books! I'm always slow to get to nonfiction, but I've tagged a bunch of them for later at my library. So agreed that you are constantly highlighting Latine authors. If you want to do something special, I feel like you've read a bunch of Latine horror in the past year, so you could do a recs video of some of your favorites. I bet a lot of people are looking for horror books in the fall anyway!
Yay! I have The Color of Money! I've had it for a while. Thanks for the reminder. (Was the first bank perhaps the Freedmen's Bank? It was mentioned in DuBois's Black Reconstruction as well as the biography of Frederick Douglas by David Blight.)
Really want to thank you! Instead of envying your ability to get through more than several books a year🤦🏾♂️😢... which is the number I have been struggling with for years...I am feeling "attracted" to read for 25 mins right now. Hopefully one day I'll get to the BLK bank one...the horse Barbie one sounds interesting also! Peace
Honestly though, the only reason I can read this amount right now is that my teaching load is much lighter than normal. And all of the nonfiction is technically part of my job. If you are reading anything, you are doing great!

That's a great point! I was also thinking about all the Latine middle grade. There's arw so many good options.

Yes! The Freedmen's back. Fredrick Douglas tries to save it and even he couldn't because they had screwed it up so badly 😔

That was 57 mins ago. Going at least open my current book right now!

Congrats!
@@bookwhimsy that makes me feel so much better 😅. Do you have any videos about making a reading habit part of life?
@@JamesSamuels-bd6jk Now that I think about it, I don't think I do. But I can film one for next week!
