'VERY CATCHY AND UPLIFTING ! IN 1933 FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT SIGNED THE FINE ARTS ACT OF CONGRESS; THIS FUNDED WRITERS AND BANDS TO PLAY CHEERFUL MUSIC DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION.
As soon as I saw Prozoot and Ted Weems, I clicked immediately!
Same here. Two winners! I love Prozoots compilations!
Same here, and boy-from measure one I was hooked.
....you should be my agent!
@@appleman59 ....thank you!
The boulevard of broken dreams, Blue sky avenue, One little kiss and Heartaches are my favorite songs from this Ted Weems 1930s era, superb!
....thanks for tuning in!
The sound quality is astonishing.
Great selections from the early 30s, Ted Weem's lost period !
....yes, it is his overlooked period.
@@Prozoot American music's whole damn lost period.
@@RatPfink66 ....yes -- popular American music begins with swing!
@@Prozoot ☹
Ted Weems- another under-rated orchestra of the big band era. Great Presentation! Thanks!
....thanks for tuning in!
Ted weems orc hestra.stylish, jazzy toe tapping the beat.
Parker Gibbs voice is a hoot! Singing Buckin' the Wind!
GROOVY!
Thanks for including the original sleeves in your illustrations.
Love the "shuffle rhythm" on many of these sides !
He had the best band.
Weems sure did!… and didn’t mind taking a pay cut during the depression to record for RCA’s budget Bluebird label making his hits affordable in grocery and discount stores nationwide. Gotta give him credit for that. He brought much happiness to folks in a very dark time.
@@MikeJones-do1xv ....I never thought of that -- but, you're right!
Super clean and clear; thank you once again!
....thanks, I appreciate your support!
@@Prozoot you're awesome! I can hear that you put a lot of effort and care into what I assume is a direct transfer from turntable to computer or some digital audio board. Not many people care or lack the knowledge in doing so and oftentimes they overprocess or remove too much noise from the audio file. I personally use Audacity with a 48kHZ sample rate with the highest quality bit-rate. I only wish I had a better turntable and stylus, also need to perfectly notch the Azimuth and VTA.
@@alternateunreleasedshellac505 ....thanks so much -- yes, I probably spend too much time and work on these transfers, considering there is zero remuneration. And, of course, it is a special joy reading all the complaints and criticisms! It sounds like you are making your own audio magic!
only the Good stuff.....kudos, man
Love this 😅
My compliments.thank you so much.i appreciate this red white and blusey.all American.
Amazing!
I put this on an my happy feet melted the damn carpet! Fan-TASTIC stuff! Thank you!
....thank you for tuning in. You can send me a bill for your carpet!

All tres GrOOVy!
Merci beaucoup from Paris France 👍 👍 👍 !
Prozoot - thanks for uploading these rare gems - Especially "Buckin' The Wind" Great transfer work too!
....thanks for the kind words -- yes, "Buckin' The Wind" is only missing Crosby's vocal (from the movie!)
I hear Andy Screst in one or two spots (definatly The Music Man and The Upton Lowdown - great solo), the music is impeachable hot dance pre swing and the sound - Prozoot as always perfect. I would be buying your CD's if it was the CD era (hopefully someday again) .
Superb album of great material - and Heartaches was one of my favourite songs since I was like 6!
....thanks so much, Yves, -- you seem to be getting more out of my videos than anyone else! Very appreciated.
Wellll-p...I thought it was turning-in time till I saw notice of this program. I knew then I wouldn't be sleeping until I'd heard it through. Tomorrow I plan to play it again and this time, I'll sing along, too.
....yes, absolutely! Play it tomorrow when the audio will be matured. It takes 24 hours for YT sound to ripen. Think of it as an avocado!
@@Prozoot well, this one's gonna make some killer guac!!
@@RatPfink66 ....yes, actually, I'm looking for a clean copy of "How Are Things In Guacamole?"
@@Prozoot i just realized your kooky font appears to render the name as *TED WEEMO.*
@@RatPfink66 ....yes, I still can't believe that is an "S" ....but it is! I can't fight the font!
Thank you! Love Weems.
....we all love him!
@@Prozoot When I was in high school, eons ago, I was mocked thoroughly as the high school nerd for listening to Ted Weems Heartaches while others were listening to "Stairway to Heaven" and such. I mean, the entire class made fun of me, out loud when I said I liked it. I never disparaged their music but they did mine. And I can tell you I was the type never to be embarrassed or back down about my own. I knew good music and was secure enough in myself not to be influenced by what other people thought about it. Ted Weems is a flashpoint for me in what it truly means to "Know thyself". I've been an "out of the box" thinker all my life, it is the best place to be. I actually owe the man more than just a pleasant 78 record. He opened my eyes to really running against the popular crowd.
@@libertytree3209 ....congrats on being a free thinker!
@@Prozoot Amazing all the trauma over a SONG in high school! Kids could be so mean. Bullying is something kids do, have always done, When I hear kids complain today about it like it is something new, I just shake my head.
Harlem. I know he came from Pennsylvania, but the first song gave me those vibes.
wasnt expecting "it's just a burning memory" ("Heartaches" 1933 whistling: Elmo Tanner)
....yikes! Have you seen a doctor about that "burning memory"?
"Rooftop Serenade" is divine !
I'd just call it swell myself. Not that that's any faint praise. It's one of Weems' more straitlaced recordings but like everything he played, it hits just right somehow.
Wonderful!
....thank you!
Yay prozoot!
Roger, as that Jerome Kern’s song said Don’t Ever Leave Me! 😂 I do not know how many wonderful records do you have in your collection but it will be a tragedy when you uploaded all or when you get tired of doing such a delicate work. Every delivery is a pure delight. Thanks!!
....I would need 5 lifetimes to upload everything worth posting. There is no shortage of records here -- that's the problem. But don't worry, when I am dust, the records will still be here. Thank you for the kind thoughts, as always! ...Roger
What happened to your previous video? (a selection of early 30s Hi-Fi sides)
its amazing!!! where did you find this everytime ?) jazz 20-30s is most lovely
Prozoot Your clloections of Weems and ambrose opened a new world of jazz for me. I’ve been into 40 50 60 but when I listen to this arrangements and stringent playing and singin I hear so much. Parker Gibbs and Weems at the top for me. Do you have any idea where to get sheets arrangements from Weems. I can transcribe, but it’s not easy with arrangements! Thanks pal !
....sorry, I don't know who holds the Weems arrangements -- probably some college or archives in the US. Very happy to hear that you are enjoying my videos.
@@Prozoot They're at the University of Pennsylvania, Ted's alma mater. Son Ted Jr. (who ran the ghost band) donated them several years back.
@@RatPfink66 ....thanks for that!
Excellent transfers! Mine pale in comparison. Would like to see how you do it. Thanks for posting!
I'm blown away by the sound quality but the quality of the transfers as well! May I ask what software you use to clean the records up so well?
I just have to ask, but what is your prcoess of digitizing records? What stylus do you use/prefer to use for 78s?

My favorite song in the album. (Definitely not because it was in EATEOT)
