    As a Larson fan, the Indy-Charlotte debacle earlier this year really broke my heart. Watching him win today in his McLaren livery was a very special feeling - it's obvious why he was so elated. Also, he's definitely not weak at road courses as Sonoma is one of his best tracks, and he's won at the Glen too. It's only low-speed road courses he struggles at. Nevertheless, even at Chicago street course he went toe to toe against SVG in the xfinity series.

    I’m not one to play into conspiracies, but holy h*** did that ending feel super scripted. Caution coming out, then Brad running out giving Larson the front row. Larson questionably jumping the restart like Hamlin at Richmond. That giving Larson lane choice for next restart and then NASCAR neglecting to throw the yellow for Preece until Larson conveniently made it past the start/finish line. It was obvious that Preece wasn’t gonna get moving. Utterly ridiculous.

    I feel you're right about inconsistency on Nascar's part. I feel like Larson did jump the restart when brad pulled off just a bit, and the announcers said well he didn't know the rule in that situation, but penalized drivers for misunderstanding the blend rule. I think NASCAR paid him back for the Indy/Charlotte deal and didn't want to cost him twice at Indy. NASCAR should've waved off the start and re-choose because blaney took the top hoping he'd run out ahead of the inside line when they started back. Given a re-choose he takes the bottom and possibly win.

  • @Mr.X2188
    @Mr.X2188 2 месяца назад +3

    1:08 I agree, Larson is most definitely a top 5 driver in the world, but he isn't the best.
    I think the F1 fans are going to hate me for this, but I believe Alex Palou is the best driver in the world. He is on pace to win his 3rd Indycar title in his first 5 seasons. That is insane. Max is similar, but F1 is much less competitive than Indycar. Max won 2023 with ease having the fastest car by far and the beginning of this season was no different. I believe he has built a nigh insurmountable lead and will comfortably win the title this year. I think Palou being in a tougher series to win in makes his championships worth more.
    I would say my top 5 drivers would have Palou, Max, SVG, and Larson. I'm not sure who the last guy would be.

    • @Mr.X2188
      @Mr.X2188 2 месяца назад +2

      @@davids5006 Yeah, but I think F1 and Indycar are similar enough that they can be compared. Both are the top open wheel racing series in the world and both have very competitive fields.
      Indycars are harder to drive than F1 cars and since it is a "spec" series, the field is much closer than F1. There are more cars capable of winning races and the championship in Indycar than F1, so I would argue a championship is more valuable in Indycar than F1.
      Something I didn't mention in my original comment which ties to your comment about the different types of cars is the drivers' other racing endeavors. Max, like the majority of F1 drivers only race in F1. You never see them get in a Hypercar or a GT3 car, or Indycar. This is something Palou has him beat at. He has raced in 2 Rolex 24s and raced at Le Mans this year. I value this a lot when ranking drivers and I honestly wish F1 drivers did racing outside of F1.
      The rest of my top 5 also does this. Larson does a ton of dirt racing and is very good at it and SVG just made the jump from V8 supercars to Nascar and has 3 Xfinity wins and a Cup win in his debut. I think the best driver in the world needs to be successful/competitive in multiple forms of racing, and that's just something Max hasn't done.

  • @BloodhawkProductions

    • @pjartistics
      @pjartistics 2 месяца назад

      I strongly respectfully disagree. The stage racing had been terrible. It’s the reason NASCAR is not taken seriously anymore. You don’t see this in Indycar. F1 racing is bad. It's even worse when the leader is told he needs to let his teammate pass him for the win. That's not racing at all. No, I don't think Larson really jumped the restart. Not in any way that really matters.
    NASCAR fucked it with waiting to throw the yellow. It felt like blatant "let's just not have another Nashville", which is one of those officiating overcorrections that NASCAR always seem to do in spite of a driver being immobile in what's frankly an extremely dangerous spot. Like with Keselowski at Loudon. Or Preece last year at Pocono. Which pisses me off more than a shit ton of yellow because drivers can't not crash each other. Which i don't know how to solve, but this isn't fucking it...

    This race was a solid race and I thought we were going to have an exciting finish with 3 laps to go until Kyle Busch spun. NASCAR needs to get rid of this overtime rule. It takes up too much time. I hate it so much. It doesn’t bring any exciting racing and all it leads to is more cautions and problems and never getting the race finished. You don’t see this from Indycar. I’m not here for entertainment. It should be about the racing. Could have had a 3 wide finish in the end if Kyle Busch didn’t spun? Possibly!.. Can NASCAR or these tv deals go back to when it was 12 PM ET? Starting the race at 3 PM doesn’t do you any favors. I live in Wisconsin not only the finish was upsetting but for them to pull the plug the race with 2 laps to go for a political campaign was something that ruined my day. I had enough hearing about politics. They couldn’t wait after 2 laps? They had ran this race after the sun was setting when Kasey Kahne won in the 2017 Brickyard 400 and oh yeah the same #5 car that Kyle Larson is currently driving!.. How is this any different than what was going on? This could be the icing on the cake that will have NASCAR not return to Indianapolis.. I was fortunate to see the NASCAR Winston Cup days. I find those memories very special. Brian France made it terrible and Steve Phelps is just finishing the job along with his people. They had buried the sport into the ground

Now yes I do think they need something like the Xfinity race yesterday and the Indycar at in the indy500 I think a good package where the car can deal with dirty air better and the draft is stronger a package that's Only and I mean Only for Indy not Charlotte, not Bristol, not Daytona not on road courses a package that's exclusive to Indy. 1:58 The title of the video is not legit at all. Larson did almost have the win in the bag forsure, but Nascar screwing Ryan Blaney on that Keselowski restart to give Larson the jump, and on top of it waiting till the white to call the yellow when it could've been called much earlier? BS. I am sick and tired that everyone treats Kyle Larson like a God. Is he a good driver, yeah absolutely you can't take that away, but I have to say my opinion on this. I have to admit until 2022 I thought Chase Elliott was Nascar's god child, but I learned pretty quick I was wrong. Larson is Nascar's golden boy, sue me.
    It's funny how he said a racial slur on a livestream during the pandemic and goes from a very average team to the top dog team. Yes it was a risk Rick Hendrick took, however if he would have stayed with Chip Ganassi or never went to Hendrick I can guarantee you he'd have half the wins he has and no championship.
    Sue me.

Cause if that had been a normal race, the whole field would have cycled and pitted. it was a boring set up rig race I say no more and if NASCAR is going to keep making up these stupid rules in some of these races then I’m gonna quit watching Racing period because the direction of sport is going right now is not very good. They couldn’t even sell out the brickyard 400 like they did the inaugural race in 1994 when there was over 350,000 people at that race and I’m still waiting for them to put Bubba Wallace on probation after showing his butt enough this year and when are they going to bring back horsepower to the cars handling to and keep improving the safety on them with these next gen cars mmm to
