Her eyes are closed. You can see flashes of rowans face and the fighters inside. Rowan tries running to her but gets tackled by his friends and when the beat drops the darkness is replaced by a bright blue flame and aelin emerges from the flame fire coming from her hands, her eyes a bright glowing blue and she snaps her fingers and the three princess burn from the inside out instantly. Rowan has stopped fighting and is staring at her in awe but she walks over to him, fire still glowing and gives a look to his friends who are still gapping at her and they instantly get off of rowan and step back. She reaches out a hand to rowan and he takes it as aelin helps him up. The flame is made to not hurt him as she helps him. She says "im sorry" and he nods in acceptance and they walk inside together and incinerate the rest if the army's inside.
