03:19 My man just walk passed without stopping at possibly the most expensive motorcycle...in the world!!!For those who don't know,it's the Honda RC166!!!
I was consulting for GT Association in 2004 and got to attend a JGTC race at Twin-Ring Motegi that year, giving me an opportunity to visit the museum. It is second to none...Honda heaven. I wish I had more time when I was there. Thanks for the tour of the updated version. Still looks like heaven to me.
@@dino_dc Cool! I was one of the principal players in the production of the JGTC exhibition race, called GT LIVE, in the U.S. in December of 2004. Wish we could have kept JGTC/Super GT on the calendar here in the U.S. but it wasn't meant to be.
Oh I’m so glad we visited in 2023 and it was in the old configuration. As a huge honda guy it was a must. I actually got quit emotional getting to see the Gathers EK9 in person. SuperGT were testing at the circuit and were we in an ek9 rental car from Omosiro too! Was one of the dream days.
This collection is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! I need to go to visit an automotive museum like that someday. The EG6 racecar and the Accord AeroDeck are definitely my favorites. Something about the hatchback shape just appeals to me so much. Thanks for giving us a tour, much love from Texas!
The Petersen in LA is sic, the Husqvarna museum in Sweden is legit, the Porsche and Mercedes museums in Germany, there are hundreds of them in the US if you drive up and down either seaboard or the middle, just get out there.
@@lucasblanchard47 except for the ones you gotta be lucky like me and fly too when I was younger, there are a ton of cool little museums full of rad people keeping sweet vehicles alive all over.
After my overseas duty I was able to purchase my first new Honda, a 1986 accord with the hatchback. I also got to own the GSR and the DC2 in PY and Black Pearl. I’m 59 now and I own a 2019 FK8 CW . Needless to say I’ve only owned Honda cars in my lifetime
Felt a little click bait and your remark about it not being as worth it or as good as it should or could be but still thank you for showcasing this as I don't know when or if I can get out there to see in person and the presentation that Honda did is very nice!
Dino you just took me back to my childhood for a second! You passed by the Honda MB-5 Motorcycyle(Moped really). I wanted one so bad but my Mother,(God bless her heart) refused to get me one because she was so convinced I would have killed myself on it. I probably would've. I was only like 12-13 at the time.
4:08 as far as I know, the Honda S500 was the first ever commercial red vehicle to be produced in Japan, because before that it was not allowed to do so and Honda somehow got the permit.
I wonder if the championship bike that Valentino Rossi rode for honda is on displayed there. Apparently that bike was supposed to be given to Vale but honda kept it...cool video and thanks Dino...
It sounds like the old setup was a lot better, getting to see so many more cars than what they have there now. You'd imagine a company like Honda, would have the financial means and more importantly, interest, in showing off a lot more of their collection. They've made some truly outstanding cars since they were created. It was obviously great to see legendary cars like the NA1 NSX-R, DC2 and EK9, but they also have more cars like this to show off, maybe even have one in Phoenix Yellow. You might not have filmed it, but was there anything on show about how they came up with and created the technology they are probably most famous for, VTEC?
Had the 1997 jdm wagon in Texas it was amazing after full suspension mods. Loved it so much I had to pick one up when I moved here in the Philippines. If I’m not mistaken all accords from 94-97 were made in Ohio?
I went there last year, just few weeks before it's closed to renovate and I thought I was unlucky as I didn't see "the newer" version, turned out I was sooo fortunate that I don't have to see this corporate BS . It's amazing how Honda these days made a terrible mistake in every move from F1, Moto GP down to the museum display.
As someone who never got to make it to the original collection hall, I cant help but sense that I would be disappointed to see this change. What is you view Dino, it it just as good or is there just too much missing?
Having seen what was on show before it was very dissapointing. If you’re a first time visitor you might stilll like it but the whole place has truly lost its feel
8:25 the NSX Type R did not exceed 300HP. Its like 211kW/287HP for the zenki model and like 216kW/294HP for the kouki model. That model is more about balance and refinement than sheer horsepower game. That is more impressive because that car could easy keep up with that like 320-330HP Toyota Supras and Nissan Skyline GT-Rs back in the day.
Yeah exactly. It used to be a must-see and the must-see stuff now has been hidden away in a warehouse so def not worth the treck & the entry/parking ticket 👎🏻
