Wassup everyone! This was my vehicle. After watching the video I’m glad I did this… I would’ve been a sad M156 owner if I wouldn’t done this repair…just want to say thank you to rusty and Craig for all the hard work and great job on my car! I will definitely see you guys soon for more work… I would definitely recommend Modern Masters for sure to anyone. Just wish you guys were closer 😆.
@@beast_e55_amg dont, im on a fb page where they gave back a customers car not put together. If you want more info on that add the group page m156/159 owners . They called them modern disasters
Well... the way my mind sees it, if you flatten the lobe to increase duration you are actually decreasing lift... Its one thing to adjust one parameter while holding the other constant, but losing lift does not sound like Mo Powa Baby!
Dude, I had the same issue with that same company that I won’t speak of. I purchased my plates. The order canceled on their end and they tried to get me to re-order them the next day after their sale ended and refused to honor the the sale
Great video as always 👍🏻I love the content. I do have error code p1200 on my 2009 c63 the position of the exhaust camshaft (bank 1) is implausible relative to the position of the crankshaft should I get worried car only has 55k kilometers. Greetings from DR 🇩🇴
@@sushiyumyumz5522 that crazy cuz on the Facebook pages they say vrp is trash and 63 motor sports it’s better all I know about 63 is that their more expensive
Dudes, this information is too good to have access to it be at the whims of youtube. Package and sell this video! 😅 Don't make me pay youtube to be able to download this 😒

great and clean car
Are those street cams from vrp?
Rusty had all the power in the outro! Good stuff boys welcome back
I truly appreciate you doing these videos in 4k. It really lets you see the details.
Legends another awesome video keep them coming 👌🏻
Thank you guys. Rusty you are the man.
Rusty the GOAT, almost spat my drink out at 36:50! Prayers to you and your family Craig 🙏
Great video, I’ll be doing this exact job on a C63 including head gaskets soon, my client already ordered VRP cams, those plates and head studs!
Great knowledge from Rusty especially on the tappets sticking. Thank you ❤
Great work! Mr. Rusty made it! 🎉
Another knowledge BOMB with the cam caps!!!!
One of my favorite things to do is stand around the shop with my fellow master techs and hand polish the cam caps 😂
🤣
I’m praying 🙏 for a C63 AMG Edition 507 while you are praying for the little pin to not go missing.
As you could make coasters by submerging the old plates in clear epoxy. That way you could still see the carnage and drink beer.
Great video and well documented and explained. Very enjoyable and just shows you really are the technical experts you say you are 👍
Wow. Magic has been worked!
Holy crap. That cam phaser was toast. 😧
TOAST! AMERICAN MADE FOR THE WIN HAHA
Would love some m278 content!
We have a few in! Biturbo stuff coming!
I have a 14’ e550 and would love to see how y’all work on them

are those the VRP street cams? Is this E63 on stock cam timing? Those cams are just drop in cams right?
I didn’t know vrp offered stage 2 cams. Or are those street cams

Would it be impossible to weld the worn plates up where the pins went and re drill? Could the process of welding harden metal in the pin location?
I have asked about this with no resolution
Did you guys have to tune the car after in stalling stage 2 cams?
Yes
Soap box!
I can't believe I couldn't remember that!

I hear this a lot!
Do these street cams work on a stock tune?
So just to be clear the cam was NOT bent and just the two cylinder spring pressure was high causing the binding and the polishing helped mitigate?
Yes, check for ware on the cam caps from the old cams as well.
Thanks all!!! Great fricking video and tons of knowledge bombs. Great work Rusty and great supervision Craig.

You can reuse them
