Can we imagine a white recording artist taking a very famous well known song from a beloved black artist and basically totally rewriting the song using all the same music and arrangements…what kinds of backlash and hate that would bring!? I mean the guy that recorded Fast Car with Tracy Chapman’s blessing, got so much shit for daring to record her song and that people loved it. The hypocrisy is dumbfounding…

To be fair, no one should’ve even given that guy crap for doing Chapman’s song. I would venture to guess that it was a bunch of woke ideologues that were the ones upset with him. I feel like most country fans loved it. I think it’s all about the attitude. The guy was humble about it. That’s what being country is all about: gratitude, respect, humility, reverence for God, country, family. Beyoncé is the total opposite. She is completely prideful with basically everything she has come out with lately and now she expects country fans to just sit there and say “Oh yeah Beyoncé you’re such a genius and you’re going to make country better than it ever was. Let us all worship at your alter.” Get out of here with that mess! The Dixie Chicks got too cocky thinking they could say whatever they wanted and country fans shut that BS down quick!

True feminism is being able to have and make choices. We don't have to just stay home and raise the children, although we can if we want. We can have jobs that we love, have marital partners and raise children if we want, or not, but we don't have to do it all by ourselves. It's wonderful to have a job or career that we love, have an amazing spouse who helps equally with raising the children we love and keeping our home. We have choices! We can make the choices that WE want, not be forced into someone else's idea of what we should be. 😂😂 I'm 70 and my life has been great and still is!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Jolene is a story about a real woman who worked at a bank with Dollys husband. At the time, Dolly was gone touring and establishing her career, and Jolene was being very attentive and flirty with Dollys husband, and didn't hide it from Dolly. Her song shifted her husband from being a neglected man to the most deeply loved man in the eyes of his coworkers, and Jolene to a heartless homewrecker. He also got to hear on the radio how hopelessly in love his wife was with him, even if she wasn't around. Be like Dolly. Think smarter, not harder.

Of course Kamala Harris said country music has it's roots in black culture. That's a ridiculous statement. Country music does NOT have it's roots in black culture. While at the same time Kamala Harris herself doesn't have her roots in black culture either. Kamala's parents are from India. R & B music was heavily influenced by the old Negro Spirituals. You can make a connection from the infamous 1930's blues guitarist Robert Johnson to Chuck Berry, and Elvis Presley, in the 1950's, and then to The Beatles in the 1960's. Eventually "The Blues" became an integral part of what we call Classic Rock and Roll music of the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, and the early 1980's.
But in my opinion the deeper you go into Rock and Roll from the mid 1980's and beyond the less and less it has to do with the blues.
Country Western music was founded by, built by, and made famous by, Caucasian musicians like Jimmie Rodgers, Gene Autry, Vernon Dalhart, Uncle Dave Macon, the father of Bluegrass music Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Roy Acuff, Buck Owens, Roy Clark, and the father of rockabilly music Carl Perkin's. There have been many beloved female country western star's from Jenny Lou Carson, Minnie Pearl, Patsy Cline, June Carter, Tammy Wynette, and Kitty Wells, to Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Dottie West, and Crystal Gayle.
Then there is the beloved entertainer Glen Campbell who started out in the music business as a member of "The Wrecking Crew".
For those who are unaware. The Wrecking Crew was a legendary group of world class studio musicians who secretly played on pretty much everybody's records (especially) in the 1960's and 1970's. Glen Campbell was one of the greatest guitar players who ever lived.
Glen Campbell was considered primarily a country musician but he transcended many different musical genre's throughout his career.
Don't forget Johnny Cash, (who created the boom-chicka-boom sound) Ray Price, (who brought the 4/4 shuffle time signature to country music) there's Waylon Jennings, Willy Nelson, (Waylon and Willy and the Boy's) Kris Kristofferson, and the outlaw country sound.
There is also guitarist Albert Lee (an Englishmen) who came out of the Skiffle Music Era with The Beatles. Albert Lee played with The Everly Brothers, and Emmy Lou Harris for quite some time. Albert is such a great and influential player (who not unlike Glen Campbell) was never truly tied down to any single musical genre. Albert was just as comfortable playing Rock and Roll music with Eric Clapton, and George Harrison, as he was playing country with Emmy Lou Harris. Glen Campbell and Albert Lee picked up where Ray Price left off. They influenced many contemporary country western guitar players like Rodney Crowell, Ricky Skaggs, Brad Paisley, and Vince Gill.
The point is that anybody claiming that Country Western Music is rooted in black culture is doing a horrible job trying to rewrite history.
Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I

The experiences of dating that she's had in the last 10 years has not been favorable. Most of the men are intimidated by her successes or they want to live off her. I married in my 30s, and didn’t have my only child (a daughter until I was 39). I found (earlier in my career) that being an associate in a law firm wasn’t really for me, and going just after career goals was not fulfilling. Eventually I went on my own, decided it was time to look for a spouse, found a wonderful one (also a lawyer). I was able to continue successfully in my career, and at the same time adjust my schedule so that I could attend every ballet recital, school play and lacrosse game, and was so much happier, even though some career sacrifices were made. My daughter is now in medical school, and we have had talks about the fact that life needs more than just a career to be happy, and having a family and trying achieve a balance is at least equally important.

After all "Beauty is fleeting and charm deceptive". But virtues......they're eternal. I think if a woman forget about her physical appearance and instead focused on virtues, desire a man would be drawn to her because she's humble because she has great patience, not because her hair is fixed a certain way or because of the effects of make up. The fact of the matter is that women have one time in their lives where they can become mothers, and their whole lives to do something valuable in the world outside of their families. Telling them that they have to take advantage of their prime to get into corporate pencil pushing is a very destructive message, and I think women are waking up to that.

Sex in the City did talk the way we all use to talk, I find it bewildering, how this small group of people can dictate to all of us what we say and what not to say. They have some serious power. Heathers (1988) is a film that is jarring, but in a completely different way. It takes something like a school shooter and tries to make fun of it with some dark humor, but this is something very, very different. We've pretty much made up a bunch of terms and it's PC not to use the correct one.
