Haha, thanks! I was panicking a bit when the chapters (timestamps) didn't show at first, then I found out that it can do at most 100 (I had 123 originally); that's not documented anywhere. That's why I had to pair a few unrelated games into the same chapter.
I don't own a 5600G, But I am here to support the channel! The amount of testing is absolutely INSANE! xD I Love it! And it's very informative to know what kind of performance today's APUs offer. :)
Haha, thanks! I remember you, you subbed on the 5600G Cyberpunk 1.5 FSR test video :) We're seeing great leaps in iGPU/APU performance and I'm excited to see what the next iterations hold. This will be a good point of reference.
@@reto Definitely! Not to mention the amazing work Valve and AMD is doing to optimize APUs for Linux / SteamOS with the Steam Deck (mine is shipping today). I mean the general struggle for APUs will always be memory bandwidth. However, it seems like Proton (with DXVK) can remedy most of it since "draw calls" don't need to be prepared by the CPU in Vulkan and the GPU can execute those commands with direct access to the DDR5 memory of RDNA2. :) It really is exciting times for APUs.
I'm jealous, SteamDeck pre-order wasn't available in my Region. Yes, DXVK (and VKD3D) are amazing, I compiled vulkan d3d12.dll from source and tried it in Windows with Elden Ring, I'm not sure it worked; I have to do more testing, but it wouldn't launch with anti-cheat on, so I think it at least tried to load it up. Will be doing more Linux content here in the future, the baked-in FSR stuff works in general, not just with the SteamDeck, that I have tested and confirmed working. I hope more devs will embrace native Vulkan in the future, I mean if id Software is doing it, it's probably the way to make well performing games :D
@@reto I wish I could've have sold you mine. But I desperately need my own for game development (I'm a game developer). I guess Valve will add more countries as they go along. But yeah, It's a real shame they don't offer it to more countries, and it is kind of odd that Sweden is a market they allow, perhaps because it is really small.... At least they solve the problem of scalping this way as you can only buy one. I mean Vulkan is a double edged sword actually. Although it is highly efficient, and you have more control. The older APIs were more forgiving with memory management and such. With Vulkan and DX12, you need to deal with a lot more memory management, which makes the whole process a whole lot more technical. But at the same time you have way less CPU overhead and most instructions go directly to the GPU. :) But I guess that's not really a problem. Looking at myself I don't have time to develop an engine of my own, and I think that is the case for most small indies up to semi-large AAA studios. Many leave that technical work to experts within the industry like Epic, Unity, Crytek, Valve, IdSoftware etc. I actually use WebGL in my game since I am 100% convinced that Construct 3 is the best 2D engine out there currently. And although webGL feels a bit odd, it's highly performant. Much more so than doing 2D in i.e. Unity. :)
Thanks! I may just shoot Gabe an email - lol. Good to know you are a game dev; do you have an idea why VKD3D DXR doesn't work with ray-tracing in Cyberpunk? It works in almost every other game that has ray-tracing. Let me know when I can test that game on the channel ;)
Insane amount of work. Was finishing watching this video and thought "this is great, would really like to see 'x, y and z' tested though, well tough luck" And like if 120 weren't enough, you went ahead and did another 60 including those I wanted to see! Can't thank you enough!
I am glad I owned this recently. I am not buying GPU anytime soon. I am sticking to pre 2014 games and enjoying those. Wonderful coverage. Tiny little beast with a big bite this CPU!
Others have said it many times already but this is a huge amount of work and very much appreciated. I was already decided on the 5600g before finding your channel but the test and benchmarks are enormously helpful in knowing what to expect and feeling confident in the decision to get it - especially because I'm on a very small budget and replacing my old gpu is definitely going to make a big difference, which I didn't feel that strongly about until I saw all these benchmarks. Now I'm sure I want to try making it work (on windows 7, so, fingers crossed xD). Finally I can take that gpu out and not worry about the fan anymore xD Thank you
Appreciate the kind words. Not sure whether the new versions of AMD Adrenaline will work on anything but Windows 10 and 11. I don't know why you'd want to stick to Windows 7; if you don't like the new ones, it's time to pick a Linux distro ;) 5600G Linux Setup and Test: ruclips.net/video/LA1Hy6qgsXA/видео.html
@Reto's Bench Newer versions of the AMD drivers are indeed only for win10 and up but there have been people who have backported the drivers for the motherboard and iGPU to win7, as well as the usb3 drivers, so I want to give that a shot to see if I can do it. I want to avoid win10 because the friends I have who have been on win10 for the past few years have had many problems with updates breaking things that worked and having to troubleshoot it with them just makes me want to stay away from win10 as much as I can. Plus, I don't like the nasty telemetry stuff and there was a fiasco a few years ago with Blender having half the performance on win10 vs linux just because win10 decides to abuse computer resources with background processes. It doesn't help that the last job I was at, I had to use win10 on a weak machine and half the cpu was always in use because it was compressing memory... I know I'm taking risks trying to use unofficial driver ports but it's either win7 problems or win10 problems, so I'd rather fight an unsupported OS than have to fight Microsoft on win10. The only reason I'm on windows is because of games. I only play a few but they are important to me because of socialising so, even though game compatibility on linux has got a ton better in the past few years, I don't feel comfortable moving entirely to linux yet, even though I prefer it. I still use it in VMs. I have to admit, your linux speedrun video does make me hopeful though and if I had the hard drive space I would try a serious dual boot to try it out myself but as of now, that's hard to do :3 Thanks though, that video was also helpful

Glad it's helpful! A lot of games are extremely playable. One thing; you have a GPU, it's the integrated Vega 7 chip, rendering games on CPU is terrible (see the Guild Wars part in this video). Every graphics card has a GPU, not every GPU is on a graphics card ;)

@@reto A bit late, but do you think it's worth it? it's the cpu good enough even with the drawbacks of the worse L3 cache and not PCie 4.0 support? I would love to go the 5600x + cheap gpu path, but i don't have much money and don't want to upgrade the cpu in the near future. Thank you for your hard work in the making of this video.
@@SilentSpica If you go with a cheap GPU, it's probably best to go for the 5600 (not X), the i5-12400f or the 5700X. Whether it's worth it depends on pricing for CPUs and whether you can get a good second hand deal on a GPU.
I'm not even able to find a used 1050ti for less than 150usd :/ I just wanted to know if 5600g is a good cpu even with the drawbacks, like cut cache and PCie 3.0. Thank you!

I liked and subbed just because you at least put your chapters in order, it would be awesome if you could include Call Of Duty Warzone in your benchmarks.
Thanks! Tricky question! It will depend on how it's configured in your device. It's possible that it's paired with LPDDR4 4200. In that case, performance is probably a bit better, if it's running with DDR4 3200, performance may be slightly worse because of a tighter power budget.
Hey, Great video i love your commitment to testing all the games so others don't have to! I have a question tho, do you think a gtx 1650 would be good pair with this apu??
will you ever release access to the Excel File about the testing? I would like to have a handy summary of the tests and a quick go-to list that I can check on when my friends suggests a new game
For some reason im having slighty fps drops in Half Life 2 when activating msaa 8x and being in big areas or using the flash light. Framerate goes between 45 and 60 fps. I could disable vsync and it goes between 80 and 300 fps but the tearing is terrible.

Love U man there is a good amount of games that I didn't know that I can play
:) Which ones look most interesting to you?
Or Scandinavian Truck Sim. Those guys are a different breed
;)
Asking this question I know that I'm very late but I'm glad I found this vid absolute great work.... Btw which mother board are you using bruvv
...
Check description
Thanx !! ...
Oh man, i love you great work!
Glad you enjoy it!
Normalmente no comento videos, pero esta es una gran recopilacion y mucho esfuerzo, como es que este canal y este video no tiene tanto apoyo? mereces mas suscriptores.
Appreciate it :) It's grwoing, when I published this video the channel had around 400 subscribers ;)
I'm not even able to find a used 1050ti for less than 150usd :/
I just wanted to know if 5600g is a good cpu even with the drawbacks, like cut cache and PCie 3.0. Thank you!

dude, you are a legend.
Thank you so much!
Thanks :) Have a good day!
@@retodo u have a discord server or subreddit dedicated to this stuff?
not yet ;) stay tuned
8:55 bro just expose me in every game
:P
Excellent video bro, amazing work👍
Thanks! Don't miss part 2 and 3 xD
Excellent video, I will use this as reference
Glad it was helpful!
Pasó demasiado tiempo, estaba esperando un video que pruebe el rendimiento del 5600g con Age of empires 2 Definitice edition, Ty
hehe :) I tested it as one of the first I ever made, but that was before they removed the FPS cap. ruclips.net/video/ROKoQQ55PCE/видео.html
Thank you very much for enormous work.
My pleasure, I had a lot of fun making it :)
@@reto I am planning to buy this CPU since GPUs' pricing is bad. At least I hope I will be able to play 30fps single player games like Witcher 3/Assassin's Creed/God of War.
That will work, just get at least 2x8 3200 RAM. AC origins and Valhalla should perform similarly to Odyssey, it's the same engine.
Great Video as allways, i want to play the overwatch 2 with this apu, hope it works 60fps 1080 fingers crossed haha
Oh 💩, I forgot about overwatch (2) 🙈
@@reto haha seams we have to wait a little more, but dont forget to op in for the beta if you want to test it and do some juicy benchmarks, i know i Will see that video haha
That's helped me a lot, thanks dude
.
:)
I liked and subbed just because you at least put your chapters in order, it would be awesome if you could include Call Of Duty Warzone in your benchmarks.
05:55 Call of Duty Warzone :)
@@reto Thank you probably over looked it, great video!
Good video, Do you use one 16GB module or two 8GB modules?
2x8
It's going to be interesting to see how much better the 7000G series will be!
Looking forward to those :) Won't be interesting until DDR5 is more affordable.
insane showcase, thank you
Glad you like it!
This is an AMAZING video!
Should I expect the same results on my ryzen 5500u vega 7?
Thanks! Tricky question! It will depend on how it's configured in your device. It's possible that it's paired with LPDDR4 4200. In that case, performance is probably a bit better, if it's running with DDR4 3200, performance may be slightly worse because of a tighter power budget.
This video is greatly appreciated, well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing upload!! :D
Thanks man!
God video, thanks you very much for the complete information
:)
Thank you very much for this. It's such a huge help.
Glad it was helpful!
Hey, Great video i love your commitment to testing all the games so others don't have to! I have a question tho, do you think a gtx 1650 would be good pair with this apu??
Yes, I'm working on a 1650 video (tested with 5600G). It's already on some benchmark charts in the RX6500 XT video.
Thanks for notifying me! Can't wait!
Awesome video, your content is really good ☺
Thanks mate! Always trying to make more and better videos ;)
@@reto and you are on the right path 💯
will you ever release access to the Excel File about the testing? I would like to have a handy summary of the tests and a quick go-to list that I can check on when my friends suggests a new game
I'm planning to put it on a website :)
What is your igpu voltage at 2500mhz? Your hardwork on this video gets a sub from me.
Welcome aboard 🙂 It Takes 1.325V for stable operation on my chip. The last 100Mhz took over 100mV if I remember correctly.
Impressive, very good CPU, want this to my system.
Go for it :)
No, the Cpu is terrible ... poor single core speed, only pci3 support ... only 16 Mb L3 cache ... the 5600g has a good igpu nothing more!
wow, that's dedication there. I have this cpu and thankful I got this coz my gpu broke
built-in back-up ;)
Holyyy. How many days are you been working on making this?
Took like every free minute for two weeks. But now I'm more proficient at it, I could do it in like half the time ;)
@@reto thanks for insane videos man.
For some reason im having slighty fps drops in Half Life 2 when activating msaa 8x and being in big areas or using the flash light. Framerate goes between 45 and 60 fps.
I could disable vsync and it goes between 80 and 300 fps but the tearing is terrible.
:D
@@reto :(
Great stuff man. What's the game character on the thumbnail?
Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey 🙂
A mention for Sifu which is very enjoyable on my 5600g 3200 sticks
Sweet, thank you! I'll try to get it at some point :)
Спасибо. Первый, кто сделал номральный обзор, не только на бесполезные ААА, но и казуальные игры.
Yes, there are so many great games out there. I'm working on another video like this one; all new games!
@@reto Thank you!
