I'm so used to knowing "Captain's Log" as "Sirrah" or "New_MMS" that seeing it with what I'm gonna guess is the official naming threw me off. Also, nice to hear Gotcha and Jump Up in HQ!
Also, are the 2.3 ringtones the ones that got "revised"? To name a few, Solarium, Sceptrum, Themos, and Ursa Minor? Because I just realized they're not in this video.
Yeah, Captain's Log is what it was called before 2.3. And yes, those ringtones are not present because they were introduced in 2.3. The 2.3 set is basically the one that's on the Nexus S, which is much more minimalist in feel compared to earlier ones.
Some of the notifications have WAVs in the AOSP source code. None of the alarms are HQ though. If you mean the ringtones, then I got in touch with Sébastien Barafani, one of the composers on the NewWave Labs team, who managed to obtain most of the NWL ones.
Radiation (Radiation by Spagnola, exclusive to Motorola Droid and Nexus series) Radiation Orchestration (Radiation, Spagnola Orchestration, available only to Motorola Droid and Nexus series and made public on the Android 5.0) These are all the ringtones.
I don't understand these ringtones were discarded by Google if they were great, where did you get these ringtones that were never added in the Alpha versions of Android
Sébastien Barafani from NewWave Labs was able to retrieve 90% of the work NWL did for Google, including tons of unused ones. I think the reason isn't that Google thought the rest sucked, but rather the sets were so big and they couldn't just use every single tone (especially at a time when the storage capacity on phones was much lower than it is now)

Yes! Refer to the following: onj3.andrelouis.com/phonetones/zipped/Google/ I'd recommend getting the AOSP pack (has all the stuff in the source code) as well as the NewWave Labs sets which also have dozens of unused/rejected ones.
@@TechProductBangers Wow, thank you! Is there a way to get the MIDI files (if they were used) and the soundfonts? I was searching through the link and found some folder but don't know what they are for.
@@Aleasdf Android specifically never had any MIDI ringtones. That being said, you can find soundfonts under the "Software and Soundbanks" folder in the root directory.

It's possible. Many early versions of software actually ripped their sounds from free sites. For example, Roblox. Many of the sounds of 2006-2007 Roblox were ripped from old "free sound effects" websites.
Late, but I'd assume the very early beta ones mostly came from websites, while the ones marked as unknown in 1.0 are most likely by Ali Spagnola, but she didn't respond when I tried to ask her.

2:39 why does that sound like "this love" kinda?
10:10 nice
@@TechProductBangers The captain's log is still on my android 11 tablet
@@TechProductBangers I'm making a version with all the ringtones from 2.3 to 11.

how did you manage to get the notification/alarm sounds in hd?
Some of the notifications have WAVs in the AOSP source code. None of the alarms are HQ though. If you mean the ringtones, then I got in touch with Sébastien Barafani, one of the composers on the NewWave Labs team, who managed to obtain most of the NWL ones.

These are all the ringtones.
@AUGHaah let me check
Update: I can't find any info for this on the search bar. Let me check my history
Update 2: correct
"tada" gives me nostalgia :0
I don't understand these ringtones were discarded by Google if they were great, where did you get these ringtones that were never added in the Alpha versions of Android
Sébastien Barafani from NewWave Labs was able to retrieve 90% of the work NWL did for Google, including tons of unused ones. I think the reason isn't that Google thought the rest sucked, but rather the sets were so big and they couldn't just use every single tone (especially at a time when the storage capacity on phones was much lower than it is now)
where did you get these?
can you give a link?
Game Over Guitar was based on Metal Gear Solid's game over, wasn't it?

is there a way to get and download these uncompressed or something?
Yes! Refer to the following: onj3.andrelouis.com/phonetones/zipped/Google/
I'd recommend getting the AOSP pack (has all the stuff in the source code) as well as the NewWave Labs sets which also have dozens of unused/rejected ones.

@@JackJicky-s8i the ringtone set
Hmm, unknown composer. So they took ringtones from free sites
