I enjoy your videos. I think there is a way where you make regular steel into harden steel the method is you throw it in fire you gotta let it get red hot and then you submerge it in oil and somehow it hardens the metal to where you won’t get chips like that on your new blade that you’re gonna make.

Hello. At approximately 43 minute mark..
A suggestion, when lifting up the blade from the stator , if you could drill a couple of holes in the beams and slide the pipe or metal rod across , on the bottom of the stator to hold it, it would speed up the process of lifting up the blade.
Instead of tightening up the chains..

Another great video!!! On your “when in doubt burn it out” option….instead of putting a flame to it and dealing with the smoke, try putting clamps on both sides of the big welder and introduce electric into the stator on opposite sides which will make it hot. Experiment, and you might be able to introduce it while it’s on the wrecker, bring up the temperature enough to melt the glues, and pull it hot. We used welders to melt frozen pipes in chiller system when they froze because the glycol solutions became diluted during harsh winters.

I scrap a lot of HVAC motors and that includes sealed compressors. My twenty ton press from harbor freight plus my Bosch tile removal blade is super sharp but is a blunt blade. I solved the problem of penetration of the blade by giving the stators a couple of good whacks with my eight pound sledge hammer. That loosened up the laminations enough to enable my blunt but very sharp to cut the copper quickly. Small motors with small stators I give them a couple of whacks with a two pound sledge to loosen the laminations and then apply my East wing camping hatchet which cuts them right in two halves.

I saw that Indian Video with the thousands of compressors. They were cutting off the copper connections because they were soldered with Silver solder.
After cutting out the sections, they would use a torch to melt out the copper and silver from the Steel casing, tapping it against a plate to knock it free from the steel. They then used Nitric acid and Distilled water to dissolve the silver and copper. This creates silver Nitrate. I think they then just poured in some Hydrochloric acid to make silver chloride and then recovered the silver from that. You can also use a coil of copper wire or copper pipe to drop the silver from the silver nitrate to make metallic silver cement which after washing several times, you can then directly melt the silver. It's very Messy and dangerous dealing with all those chemicals, but it's India. They work around heavy equipment with Sandals and Flammable robes. No safety equipment at all.
