Idea for a vpub : how to discover the profile of distilleries w/out official bottlings (glenburgie for example) Great vpub as always, will catch it live at some point haha
These extended conversations with people who really know what they are talking about are priceless. In a world of instant RUclips wanna-be whisky experts, seeing the real deal is so revealing. Thanks Roddy and Roy!
Wauw. Such a great vPub (I'm sorry... I seem to keep repeating myself as of lately with all the replays, I'm catching up with) So much fun, really (I think my previous comments are testament to that). It's not rocket science why the crowd loves Roddy so much, such a genuine and pleasant dude to listen to. My favorite 2 distilleries for the time being are Arran and Springbank (not in order of preference but in order of my "discovery"). And... I even yet have not even tasted a Longrow whisky, meaning that Springbank is right there at the top even at 2/3 "engine power". Such an impressive distillery in my eyes! Thanks, Roy. And... I love you Roddy! Just ordered the Springbank 12 yo CS batch 21 in honour of Roddy (thinking regularly about the whisky wuman video "Knee deep in Springbank")
Lovely to hear two Glaswegians using the Scots language so beautifully. A 'scoosh'. What a great word. Roy - hadn't = "hudnae". I was born in Glasgow (actually Hamilton, Lanarkshire) but moved to Sydney when I was 10 years old. My late parents sounded like Roy and Roddy. In fact when I was a kid, I spoke the same language. I still understand it perfectly. I now live in Japan where the tax on whisky is very low by international standards😊 .Looking forward to visiting Scotland when this corona palaver is over.🤞
@@johnmcmunn3827 Hi John. You wouldn't be experiencing much dreicht weather in Southern California. I'm in Fukuoka now. You can take the boy out of Hamilton, but you can't take Hamilton out of the boy. 😂
@@58deluxe8 Strange enough in So.Cal we are having a VERY Rainy time of it ... good thing we do need it. In Japan I was in Nagano working with Fujitsu Disk Drives
Saturday April 11, 2020 - Catching the replay, sipping on Laphroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood Original Cash Strength as I am going through Islay whiskies right now. Enjoyed watching / listening while doing my taxes which are due on the 15th.... whisky talk and a wee dream makes doing this a bit more tolerable.
Hi Roy, these vPub episodes with Roddy are just like honey. 😃 These discourse between the two of you is always interesting, insightful, natural and fun to watch. Maybe a monthly “Roy & Roddy Talk Whisky” as a regular feature in the vPub streams? (Or as a spin-off channel.) Cheers!
Hi I alao loved this one but sadly i have never seen any previous live stream with roddy.. Can you please name all the previous live streams with roddy or share the links??(so that i catch up during the lockdown)
Campbeltown, such a nice topic covered by two experts with many hats! I viewed this episode today (next day from live VPub). I also keep the comments open to sponge off the community. To add to Jimmy Legs comment ' I do envy Germans and Belgians when it comes to beer and I'm not a big beer guy' I live in Germany after finishing my stint in the Argylls. Not only is their a multitude of beers to choose from but there's also more Springbank on offer here than the UK! Result :-) Thanks for your time Roy and Roddy
Sat and watched this with a few drams of Glen scotia 2003 rum cask, Campbeltown festival bottling. What a fantastic whisky and what a fantastic episode
Fantastic vPub, Roy! Truly amazing how you have upped the opening hours and made this into a weekly. Great! How Roddy would be a great regular in the vPub! Maybe a Roddy feature would be a cool addition to the format. But then again you already easily go 3 hours without 'features' Keep up the visionary work Roy. No wonder Tomatin asked you to help. Like you said it the other night, the Test dummies (Scott) have left their legacy in whiskyland. Using live stream and guests. And now you have really taken it to the next level ;) PS: two whiskies at a party Peat = Bart !!!? Old Refill Sherried = Scott? Slainte!
Such a great session! “If you drink this dram (Kilkerran 8 CS) in company, you will have a tough time in conversation, as every sip will be screaming for your attention!” #slainte
Hi Can u please rank the inteernational whisky festivals(except uk)(preferably 1 per country)(from rare whisky tasting and buying options point of view)?? Especially which s the best in germany out of limburgh and feankfurt?? So that i can probably plan my future travels accordingly😉
"Tore through at an alarming rate!" - interested to know what that rate is, for you, Roy. Have engaged with a couple of MALT articles about " the perils" of "drinking". Pre-Covid, was (arguably) too much. Post pre- apoca!ypse, playing catch up. Perspective is key, as ever. What a hobby! Slanjeevaurus 🐢
I am coming back and watching this for no reason... no reason at all. Not aged a day Roy ;)

It is wonderful to listen to Roddy he is so knowledgeable. The interplay between the two of you is lovely
Picking up an old Vpub during the break! Makes it more enjoyable actually having been there.
Thanks Jim! 🙏
What a wonderful vpub ! Thank you so much

Roddy being called away from the stream to deal with a miscreant spider was hilarious!
Great to see Roddy again! Love Springbank!!

Fantastic evening Roy, Good to see Roddy on the channel again, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Hi Roy. Couldn't watch all the vPub last night so watched the rest today. Very interesting and enjoyable listening to your friend and guest Roddy.

I loved that rum cask. Wish I'd snagged a bottle - but at least I got to taste it
Absolutely fantastic vpub. I nearly always have to watch these on catch up: still great viewing.

Great to see Roddy back on, and in good health! And a double uncorking of the Kilkerran 8CS
Great topic, love Campbeltown products. Glad to see Roddy too and his hats. Have to avoid disco cows from duff casks.
The disco cow 12 year old is good, but I would avoid the others
1:14:22 Priceless!! And even more so that you guys just can't help laughing at your own stunt. That's really hard not to love with all your heart! 😄
YerteasOnTheTable .. Pititintheoven .. ImwatchinthevPub .... cheers john
Thanks ROY !!!!
You kicked Roddy out, then you started describing your second guest and I was like, wait a second that sounds like Roddy. Haha too good!
Very excited that I just picked up the Victoriana 51.5 here in Oklahoma for 80 USD. First Glen Scotia offering I have found around here.
A great dram. You're in for a treat!
1:45:56 I should've foreseen that.... omg I feel so silly 😂🙈
One of my favourite bourbons is wild turkey rare breed. It is a fantastic bourbon for £50
