"Jukendo" is a martial art that was created and developed in the early Meiji period by studying and improving the Western-style bayonet sword technique introduced from France, the spirit and techniques of Japanese spear fighting, and the theory of kendo. It is a sport in which competitors compete by thrusting into the opponent's throat, torso, etc. using a 166cm long wooden gun. It became a modern competitive martial art in 1956. It is a sport in which competitors wear protective gear like kendo and thrust their opponents using a wooden gun instead of a bamboo sword.
『銃剣道』は、フランスから伝来した西洋式銃剣術と日本の槍術の心技、剣道の理論等を研究・改良されて明治初期に創成され発展した武道です。長さ166cmの木銃という用具を用いて相手の喉・胴等への「突き技」で競い合う競技です。1956年に近代スポーツとして競技武道化しました。剣道のような防具を身に付けて竹刀の代わりに木銃を用いて相手と突き合う競技である。
