If you think too much about the future then you’ll stress yourself out. If you dwell in the past you’ll get lost in memories that don’t exist anymore . Focus on now. What truly matters to me at the very least
If this were just any old splatfest I'd agree, but the thing is whatever wins is going to impact the next Splatoon game. The way I see it, It'll be set in the past, set in a time very close to the time Splatoon 3 is set in, Or set in the future. That's why I think team past or future are the only REAL options. Again, if this was just a run-of-the-mill splatfest, I'd definitely go team Present, but seeing what's at stake, I need to put aside my personal opinion for the future of Splatoon.

Pros and Cons for each team: Past: Pro: The great turf war could be greatly expanded upon Pro: Backstory for many characters like Cuttlefish and Octavio would be great for character development and bringing the whole world of splatoon together Con: anything that has been built up in the past 3 games would probably be lost, meaning deep cut wont get a chance at another major role for a while at least, and they are very underused. Con: lots of technology (a major part of splatoon) would be lost meaning that the vibes of splatoon would be just not the same, this is more of a personal thing tho and like with pokemon legends arceus they can make it work ig Con: no more octoling and inkling society? Present: Pro: This would give the characters we have more development which is good but since its off the hooks team they already have alot of content and like ive already said deep cut need more to be good characters Pro: We would likely get all the maps and weapons we have in the trilogy returning, as switch 2 will be able to contain much more in the game than switch 1 games. Con: the game may get alot of backlash for being “just the same” and the same style may get repetative since other games branch out into other styles like zelda for example Con: the present may mean that the campaign will be squidbeak splatoon again but this is kind of a nitpick and may not happen Future: Pro: futuristic games like cyberpunk look really cool and splatoon in this artstyle would be epic epecially in splatfests and on switch 2 Pro: once again all stages and weapons can return if it takes place after splat 1-3 Pro: we could see returning characters even if they are a bit older Con: they could go too far into the future and we could lose what we have built up so far just like past So overally im going future as its got the least cons imo, I think present is the worst team cuz i personally dont want the same game again, but as long as they dont go too far into the future and they dont do a time travel story im good. Also REMEMBER the losing teams may be turned into DLC like side order, so if your team loses dont worry you might get something even for losing. Come on, people. We already have 3 games that are set in the same time period. While I'm sure a fourth one would be FINE, I think the creative potential of Past or Future by FAR outweighs that of Present. I love the Idols as much as anyone, but I think the Splatoon team is perfectly capable of making new and interesting characters set in the Splatoon Universe's past or future.

And if Callie beat Marie, would anything have changed? Or would we just look at it and say "The whole story is about finding Callie because she won". I do want war theme, and I’m pretty sure that’s the point. Splatoon 1’s last splatfest didn’t outright state that if Marie or Callie loses they get kidnapped. I don’t think Splatoon two was like that either, why would 3 be different?

I agree, off the hook is amazing, but we don't know anything about deep cut yet either! the only reason off the hook became so popular and we know so much about them is BECAUSE they got to be in octo expansion, splatoon 3, and side order. they weren't that popular when we only had splatoon 2 and just saw them every time the maps were updated. however, if you choose future, we could learn more about deep cut in splatoon 4, while being detached from the squidbeak saga and the old idols that we've seen a thousand times. please, choose team future!! ❤❤

While its not an important consideration for which team im choosing, their choices for which Idols stand for which teams lines up great. I think that off the hook being team present is so perfect! They just want to live in the moment, enjoying every moment with each other, and that's wonderful for them. ❤ Meanwhile Callie and Marie care a lot about their grandpa, and like... Calamari Inkantation is based on a folk song in the lore! I also remember Marie wearing a traditional outfit in splatoon 2, as well. They definitely fit Team Past well too. Then Deep Cut works alright for Team Future. I don't have as much to say about them, but they have always had the most energy out of the three groups, so they're determined to make the future better for others.
I'm tired of people dictating how to play the game or how we should vote. It's a damn game, it doesn't matter who wins. Either way it'll be better than splatoon 3. But that's a low bar because splatoon 3 is terrible. People need to stop whining about people choosing what they want.
I genuinely do think that most people subconsciously believe the future is the most important. If it wasn’t, you wouldn’t be saving, you wouldn’t be studying, you would spend time perfecting yourself, literally everything anyone does is so that tomorrow will be better. If you work out today, the you from tomorrow will thank you, but you’ll feel a lot of physical pain in the present. Present is pain, your past doesn’t matter and there’s no point dwelling on it, the only thing that truly matters is the future

that's the worst choice of all three in my opinion, for the exact reasons you just said. we've seen these characters for three games now and two DLCs, there is really no reason to keep them especially now squidbeak saga is over. plus, lots of people complained over how splatoon 3 was too similar to splatoon 2, so having something set in the future could erase those similarities. plus, picking future could also let us learn more about deep cut @@rockinggamerdude

Team present. You have a consistent timeline that is not confusing such as the legend of Zelda series. off the hook, possibly have returning characters. team future obviously! we need a fresh start! we've seen callie and marie ever since splatoon 1 while also being in splatoon 2 and 3's storymode, pearl and marina ever since splatoon 2 in octo expansion and side order, and deep cut had like ten minutes of screen time IN THEIR OWN GAME? cmon! which leads me to my next point, the only reason we love the squid sisters and off the hook so much, is because they had so many appearances in the past three games. team future would open a lot of opportunities for deep cut, we could learn more about their past, how they met, and maybe even in the DLC and story mode for splatoon 4, which would let us learn more about them and possibly become fan favorites above off the hook. and if team future truly does affect the next game, a futuristic splatoon 4 would be very cool, and especially if it took place far from inkopolis and splatsville. im not sure how theyd work deep cut into that, but nintendo always finds a way! the worst possible choice is team present in my opinion, we would probably be left in the same location with the same characters and knowledge we already have, which is just boring and repetitive. we need something NEW! I'm torn between Past and Future, for the gameplay and story possibilities of Splatoon 4, but also because I'm a very nostalgia-based person, while also being quite prone to looking to the future, sometimes even a bit too far ahead, lol My personal choice would probably be Future, but in honor of all the choices, here's your challenge: Win 1 match with a weapon from a class introduced in all 3 of the games! One win with a S1 weapon like a bucket, blaster, or Splatling, (the basic trio of shooter/roller/charger doesn't count), one win with a dualie or brella, and one win with a stringer or splatana. The catch is, should you lose, you have to go back a game, and pick another weapon introduced in that game (say you lose with Vdualies after winning with Vslosher, you then have to pick a new slosher introduced in S1). This challenge could either go on for ages or be a nice quick 3-match trip down memory lane. Either way, I think it would be fun!
Agreed, Would love to see what the Splatoon Universe was like closer to the Great Turf war, or maybe even further back. Then again, the absolutely limitless possibilities for Splatoon in the future is also insane.
If it helps, the teams aren't going to affect much outside of just the game's aesthetic. And every game has been about learning that Future is the answer

I'm picking Team Future because I have my whole life ahead of me, I want to see what's next in my story. My Past isn't noteworthy and my Present is either boring or stressful. That, and it's important to plan and prepare for the future. Also, the idols actually make sense for the teams they're on! - The Squid Sisters come from a *traditional* village in the countryside, and their peak in fame was just after Callie vs. Marie, which happened so many years ago. Their best moments are in their Past. - Marina mentioned that Off the Hook is in its zenith during _Side Order_ (if I remember correctly), and she'd be right. They were just on their world tour, their fame has never been greater than in the Present. - Deep Cut has more to go. There's more money to earn, more fame to achieve, more friends to make. Their journey in stardom has just begun, their peak is in their Future. CHALLENGES If Past is (somehow) the most popular, you have to complete one private Salmon Run shift on each map, in order. If Future is (somehow) the most popular, you have to play one private match, any mode of your choice, on every VS stage. Both of these can be done concurrently with other compatible challenges.

Personally im doing future completely based on how it will effect the next game we already have found out so much about the past and i feel like since we have been in the present the previous games i think we need to switch things up which is why in choosing future because there is so much possibilities to what could happen

I'll personally be on Future but I'll be happy if either Present or Future win. My fear is that if Past wins then we're going to be stuck with a bunch of nostalgia pandering and a very little innovation going forward. I'm worried if present wins. i don't want a repetitive story, I want something new. future is the best choice imo, because we need more story on deep cut, we could have a futuristic splatoon 4, and the future is most important to me, and you may not know it, but it's important to ALL of us. that's why you work, study, and learn. you're bettering yourself for the future. if past wins, I won't be too upset.. but it would still be draining because I don't know how they would make a splatoon with no technology and a war aesthetic.

I'm choosing Future because, in my teens, I was horribly depressed and my 'present' sucked. I didn't see a future for me. The fact I'm still here and doing better is the future I never thought I'd have. Sometimes you gotta believe it'll get better and that's the future I wish for everyone who's having a rough time rn.
Side Order sucks though and Off the Hook were majorly downgraded in it. Wouldn't it be better to tell peopl to play Octo Expansion and say they aren't the best group? EIther way, Off the Hook is definitely the worst group (still great though) they just have the best content thanks to Octo Expansion (they have the worst one too with Side Order, but it's easy to ignore that bad in favor of the good of OE)
First of all this Splatfest isnt about which Idol is gonna win it is about Past, Present and Future. Side Order is the worst Story Mode of all. Octo Expansion, Splatoon1 and 2 had better Story Modus and Splatoon 3 had the best one alongside Octo. Still Of the hook is more popular in Amerika. Deep cut in Asia and as I know most of my friends and people in Europe like the Squid Sisters most

Who’s on team PAST?!🦑 In terms of the question itself, I love both the present and the future. However, I personally feel that the past holds so much weight because of how it has shaped me in my life. Yes, we MUST live in the moment, but I couldn’t be where I am or who I am today without my past. When considering the representative idol groups, I’ve always loved the Squid Sisters, but have very much gotten into Off the Hook! When deciding between the past with the Squid Sisters or the present with Off the Hook, it was genuinely like pulling teeth. Ultimately, I was swayed to the past because of the before mentioned reasons about the prompt itself; and in terms of the relative idol group, it was just the fact that the Squid Sisters have essentially been the foundation of Splatoon, while Off the Hook’s major influence is all locked behind a DLC paywall in both 2 and 3. Again, I LOVE the present and Off the Hook, but the past just gets me. I’m also someone who still has the original Splatoon, so my remorse for its online modes not being functional probably plays a small part in my nostalgic feelings.

This is confirmed to be the final fest, and it has been since before S3's release. In the S3 direct they mentioned the game will be getting 2 years of support just like S2. This grand festival is happening a week after the 2 year anniversary. They might do reruns like they did in S2 but this is likely the final NEW splatfest theme.

I'm really gonna miss your prediction videos for splatfest! I'd always watch them a couple hours before splatfest to hype myself up lol. Personally I'm picking team past. It took me a while to decide, but I believe that the past influences your choices in the present the most and shapes you as a person. Although the future can also have an impact of your decisions in the present, the future is not guaranteed so is unreliable, whereas you can learn from your mistakes/experiences in your past to ensure a better future. My challenge if Team Present isn't the most popular is that you should try to win a game with every weapon with angle shooter 💜💜
Chose team present because I genuinely think the present is the most important. However, Splatoon 3 is my first Splatton game and I am very attached to Deep Cut, and I really wish they were Team present.

Challenge: Win an anarchy match but you can’t use your weapon, special, sub. Aka can’t paint. Or Win an anarchy match but you can’t kill any players on the opposing team.
I honestly think that present is going to win. The reason is while a lot of the players in Splatoon 3 started in Splatoon 3, majority started playing Splatoon 2. And Pearl and/or Marina were the introduction to the franchise for most players. Now I started playing in Splatoon 2 but watched @zackscottgames play Splatoon 1. And although in reality The Squid Sisters were my doors to the franchise, Off The Hook sparked my interest. Pearl, an outgoing, scary short lady, with a kooky attitude paired with Marina, a runaway "slave" for own kind, octolings, with a passion for DJ-ing you get success. Also my Nintendo handle is a star symbol a music note a star symbol and a music note if anyone wants to friend me😗

Firstly, you wouldn’t be doing what you are now without the events in your past, nobody wouldn’t be who they are without the unique ways they were raised and cared for, I would be who I am without my childhood and how everyone around me has shaped me over the years, therefore, if you are wong, you must make a pretendo account and play Splatoon 1 multiplayer on a 24 hour livestream as splatoon wouldn’t be what it is without that first crucial entry.
I think, for me, I'd like to see a change to the formula we're so used to, even if it's just new characters and such. Of course, we don't know what other changes are going to be made for Splatoon 4, and they'll be doing a soft reboot of the story, and likely of the characters, no matter what we choose. I've always been someone to look towards the future, and the idea of a futuristic version of the Splatoon world seems pretty interesting to me, so that's the team I'm going to choose.
i'm voting for past because i think it would be the most interesting as a theme for the new game. we could have a splatoon prequel and get a lot of lore
as a neurodivergent [person, if I only think about my present, i don't get anything done and just watch RUclips all day. i have to consider my future and if people in general don't consider the future, they are setting themselves up for a much worse present. because your future will eventually become the present. and if us as a society can't think about our future, we will destroy our planet. long term thinking is absolutely vital in my mind because of this.
I personally think the Past and Future have the most potential for future stories in Splatoon. The present is nice, but what good is the present if you never look back to learn from the past, or look ahead to carve out your ideal future? With that said, I chose the Past, cause thats where the most lessons can be learned from. I was hesitating between team present and future!! It was especially hard to choose, the factor that made me choose present is that I’m a Splatoon 2 player, I had the Octo Expansion. If Team Past is most popular, then you have to do any one of the challenges that you performed on stream from EVERY splatfest prediction you got incorrect (i.e. one challenge from the chocolate splatfest, one from the money splatfest, one from the frostyfest, etc etc)! If Team Future is most popular, then try to think of a new class of main weapon, a new type of sub weapon, and a new type of special weapon that could be added to Splatoon 4 (basically do some brainstorming on what new types of weapons could be added to Splatoon)!
I don’t want palsy to win because of Splatoon four, I want past to win because the past is the greatest virtue. To people who say past is guilt and future is anxiety, your wrong! To me i'd be kind of excited for present to win. I like splatoon being set into a world similar to ours and seeing our inklings and octolings living lives similar to our own. And i hope to see more of this in the next game! :D
i picked future because if we dont have an idea on what future we want then we can't make the necessary decisions now to get to that future. the present is certainly a gift, but the future has an opportunity to be far better if you plan and nurture that future into existence. its scary, but what isn't?

Japan makes up for most of the player base and I think that there's a high possibility of Past winning there (respect for the OG game and Japanese values), but I think other regions will push Present to win. I don't see Future taking the win at all. Past will probably have more adults on it too, as again some people who respect the original game will join, so that could definitely boost performance and make it tight between Present + Past.
I'm personally taking present because of mamy favorite content creator ever which discussed the issue during a live and convinced me ! Him and I are both anxious severe cases of ADHD worry-rats and the way he discussed how one must not let the past drives their choice (fear, anxiety, pre-formed opinions due to past experience) and not worry about the future as to not be stressed but live in the present, the moment itself for it is all e truly have !
Im picking present for this reason Before my uncle died, we always looked to the future, Weither it be planning weeks,months,years,etc. But when he died it was so sudden, changing my view on life itself !! i learned to live in the PRESENT moment , we cant change the past , the future is the future,but we can enjoy our present while it lasts. good luck to all the other groups !! 💜💜🙌

I chose Team past mainly because what you said, and it genuinely does shape you as a person. As I've made my point to everyone else, the past is not always about always knowing what you did in the past, but how you execute what you've learned from your experiences. Without a past, the present you or even a future would not even exist. If you can't learn from the past how can you shape yourself? Your friends, your experiences or sorrow without knowing the importance of what it means? The past is there to help you reevaluate your decisions that you make, and the present is there to execute those experiences you did in the past. Therefore, past is very much important.
I personally think future is just the objectively correct answer, because past's only argument is that it's what got you to the present. For present I say, why do you have a job? why do you have a calendar? Simply put, the present works to make the future better.
Idc what people think present is most important because we actually have full control of what we do. We can’t change the past. All we can do about the past is reflect, learn, and to keep moving on and continuing to grow. and future all we can do is have a plan in the PRESENT in hopes to reach a goal in the future. In my opinion present is the most important. An easy choice for me.
I think you should be on team present because you can’t control what already happened in the past and some of us might not have a future or think to much about that you might get stressed out so it’s just best to live in the moment and control what you can control now which is why I am going to be on team present
I think it would be cool if past won and Splatoon 4 was a prequel or if future won and Splatoon 4 is a sequel. But logically team present makes the most sense for the question.

If this were just any old splatfest I'd agree, but the thing is whatever wins is going to impact the next Splatoon game. The way I see it, It'll be set in the past, set in a time very close to the time Splatoon 3 is set in, Or set in the future. That's why I think team past or future are the only REAL options. Again, if this was just a run-of-the-mill splatfest, I'd definitely go team Present, but seeing what's at stake, I need to put aside my personal opinion for the future of Splatoon.

Well, I personally do not want much to change.
I originally thought of what group I wanted to join, off the hook or deep cut
Then i focused on the question itself and ultimately decided team present. I also bought the shirt for team present
Pros and Cons for each team:
Past:
Pro: The great turf war could be greatly expanded upon
Pro: Backstory for many characters like Cuttlefish and Octavio would be great for character development and bringing the whole world of splatoon together
Con: anything that has been built up in the past 3 games would probably be lost, meaning deep cut wont get a chance at another major role for a while at least, and they are very underused.
Con: lots of technology (a major part of splatoon) would be lost meaning that the vibes of splatoon would be just not the same, this is more of a personal thing tho and like with pokemon legends arceus they can make it work ig
Con: no more octoling and inkling society?
Present:
Pro: This would give the characters we have more development which is good but since its off the hooks team they already have alot of content and like ive already said deep cut need more to be good characters
Pro: We would likely get all the maps and weapons we have in the trilogy returning, as switch 2 will be able to contain much more in the game than switch 1 games.
Con: the game may get alot of backlash for being “just the same” and the same style may get repetative since other games branch out into other styles like zelda for example
Con: the present may mean that the campaign will be squidbeak splatoon again but this is kind of a nitpick and may not happen
Future:
Pro: futuristic games like cyberpunk look really cool and splatoon in this artstyle would be epic epecially in splatfests and on switch 2
Pro: once again all stages and weapons can return if it takes place after splat 1-3
Pro: we could see returning characters even if they are a bit older
Con: they could go too far into the future and we could lose what we have built up so far just like past
So overally im going future as its got the least cons imo, I think present is the worst team cuz i personally dont want the same game again, but as long as they dont go too far into the future and they dont do a time travel story im good. Also REMEMBER the losing teams may be turned into DLC like side order, so if your team loses dont worry you might get something even for losing. For a past dlc they could do a great turf war campaign, present could be a squidbeak splatoon story and future dlc could be a time travel story (pls no)

Not really. They ignored Chaos and made almost all of Splatoon 3 based around Order. And if Callie beat Marie, would anything have changed? While its not an important consideration for which team im choosing, their choices for which Idols stand for which teams lines up great. I think that off the hook being team present is so perfect! They just want to live in the moment, enjoying every moment with each other, and that's wonderful for them. ❤
Meanwhile Callie and Marie care a lot about their grandpa, and like... Calamari Inkantation is based on a folk song in the lore! I also remember Marie wearing a traditional outfit in splatoon 2, as well. They definitely fit Team Past well too.
Then Deep Cut works alright for Team Future. I don't have as much to say about them, but they have always had the most energy out of the three groups, so they're determined to make the future better for others.

I genuinely do think that most people subconsciously believe the future is the most important. If it wasn’t, you wouldn’t be saving, you wouldn’t be studying, you would spend time perfecting yourself, literally everything anyone does is so that tomorrow will be better. If you work out today, the you from tomorrow will thank you, but you’ll feel a lot of physical pain in the present. Present is pain, your past doesn’t matter and there’s no point dwelling on it, the only thing that truly matters is the future

team future obviously! we need a fresh start! we've seen callie and marie ever since splatoon 1 while also being in splatoon 2 and 3's storymode, pearl and marina ever since splatoon 2 in octo expansion and side order, and deep cut had like ten minutes of screen time IN THEIR OWN GAME? cmon! which leads me to my next point, the only reason we love the squid sisters and off the hook so much, is because they had so many appearances in the past three games. team future would open a lot of opportunities for deep cut, we could learn more about their past, how they met, and maybe even in the DLC and story mode for splatoon 4, which would let us learn more about them and possibly become fan favorites above off the hook.
and if team future truly does affect the next game, a futuristic splatoon 4 would be very cool, and especially if it took place far from inkopolis and splatsville. im not sure how theyd work deep cut into that, but nintendo always finds a way!

I'm torn between Past and Future, for the gameplay and story possibilities of Splatoon 4, but also because I'm a very nostalgia-based person, while also being quite prone to looking to the future, sometimes even a bit too far ahead, lol
My personal choice would probably be Future, but in honor of all the choices, here's your challenge: Win 1 match with a weapon from a class introduced in all 3 of the games! One win with a S1 weapon like a bucket, blaster, or Splatling, (the basic trio of shooter/roller/charger doesn't count), one win with a dualie or brella, and one win with a stringer or splatana. The catch is, should you lose, you have to go back a game, and pick another weapon introduced in that game (say you lose with Vdualies after winning with Vslosher, you then have to pick a new slosher introduced in S1).
This challenge could either go on for ages or be a nice quick 3-match trip down memory lane. Either way, I think it would be fun!
Agreed, Would love to see what the Splatoon Universe was like closer to the Great Turf war, or maybe even further back. Then again, the absolutely limitless possibilities for Splatoon in the future is also insane.

I'm picking Team Future because I have my whole life ahead of me, I want to see what's next in my story. My Past isn't noteworthy and my Present is either boring or stressful. That, and it's important to plan and prepare for the future.
Also, the idols actually make sense for the teams they're on!
- The Squid Sisters come from a *traditional* village in the countryside, and their peak in fame was just after Callie vs. Marie, which happened so many years ago. Their best moments are in their Past.
- Marina mentioned that Off the Hook is in its zenith during _Side Order_ (if I remember correctly), and she'd be right. They were just on their world tour, their fame has never been greater than in the Present.
- Deep Cut has more to go. There's more money to earn, more fame to achieve, more friends to make. Their journey in stardom has just begun, their peak is in their Future.
CHALLENGES
If Past is (somehow) the most popular, you have to complete one private Salmon Run shift on each map, in order.
If Future is (somehow) the most popular, you have to play one private match, any mode of your choice, on every VS stage.
Both of these can be done concurrently with other compatible challenges.

when did they confirm that idols won't be in other games? the only post I'm aware of is them saying the squidbeak saga is over.. but that doesn't mean we won't see the idols again. specifically deep cut. we'll probably see deep cut again since they got so little screen time @totaldramaeditsyt
I'll personally be on Future but I'll be happy if either Present or Future win. My fear is that if Past wins then we're going to be stuck with a bunch of nostalgia pandering and a very little innovation going forward.

I'm worried if present wins. i don't want a repetitive story, I want something new. future is the best choice imo, because we need more story on deep cut, we could have a futuristic splatoon 4, and the future is most important to me, and you may not know it, but it's important to ALL of us. that's why you work, study, and learn. you're bettering yourself for the future. if past wins, I won't be too upset.. but it would still be draining because I don't know how they would make a splatoon with no technology and a war aesthetic.

I'm choosing Future because, in my teens, I was horribly depressed and my 'present' sucked. I didn't see a future for me. The fact I'm still here and doing better is the future I never thought I'd have. Sometimes you gotta believe it'll get better and that's the future I wish for everyone who's having a rough time rn.

Side Order sucks though and Off the Hook were majorly downgraded in it. Wouldn't it be better to tell peopl to play Octo Expansion and say they aren't the best group? EIther way, Off the Hook is definitely the worst group (still great though) they just have the best content thanks to Octo Expansion (they have the worst one too with Side Order, but it's easy to ignore that bad in favor of the good of OE)
First of all this Splatfest isnt about which Idol is gonna win it is about Past, Present and Future. Side Order is the worst Story Mode of all. Octo Expansion, Splatoon1 and 2 had better Story Modus and Splatoon 3 had the best one alongside Octo. Still Of the hook is more popular in Amerika. Deep cut in Asia and as I know most of my friends and people in Europe like the Squid Sisters most

In terms of the question itself, I love both the present and the future. However, I personally feel that the past holds so much weight because of how it has shaped me in my life. Yes, we MUST live in the moment, but I couldn’t be where I am or who I am today without my past.
When considering the representative idol groups, I’ve always loved the Squid Sisters, but have very much gotten into Off the Hook! When deciding between the past with the Squid Sisters or the present with Off the Hook, it was genuinely like pulling teeth.
Ultimately, I was swayed to the past because of the before mentioned reasons about the prompt itself; and in terms of the relative idol group, it was just the fact that the Squid Sisters have essentially been the foundation of Splatoon, while Off the Hook’s major influence is all locked behind a DLC paywall in both 2 and 3. Again, I LOVE the present and Off the Hook, but the past just gets me. I’m also someone who still has the original Splatoon, so my remorse for its online modes not being functional probably plays a small part in my nostalgic feelings.
Not to seem cocky by any means, but someone beat that argument for choosing a team.😎😅😂

I'm a big fan of the first Splatoon game and I want to know more lore about great turfwar, I think if team past would win we would have to choice to be born as a squid or octoling and living if there different societies or we could only play as octolings since we only played as squids in the first game.

This is confirmed to be the final fest, and it has been since before S3's release.
In the S3 direct they mentioned the game will be getting 2 years of support just like S2. This grand festival is happening a week after the 2 year anniversary.
They might do reruns like they did in S2 but this is likely the final NEW splatfest theme.
Team present is the most popular in Japan. It's also the most popular in the usa simply because the present t-shirts are the only ones sold out for a while now. 😅

I'm really gonna miss your prediction videos for splatfest! I'd always watch them a couple hours before splatfest to hype myself up lol. Personally I'm picking team past. It took me a while to decide, but I believe that the past influences your choices in the present the most and shapes you as a person. Although the future can also have an impact of your decisions in the present, the future is not guaranteed so is unreliable, whereas you can learn from your mistakes/experiences in your past to ensure a better future. My challenge if Team Present isn't the most popular is that you should try to win a game with every weapon with angle shooter 💜💜

I honestly think that present is going to win. The reason is while a lot of the players in Splatoon 3 started in Splatoon 3, majority started playing Splatoon 2. And Pearl and/or Marina were the introduction to the franchise for most players. Now I started playing in Splatoon 2 but watched @zackscottgames play Splatoon 1. And although in reality The Squid Sisters were my doors to the franchise, Off The Hook sparked my interest. Pearl, an outgoing, scary short lady, with a kooky attitude paired with Marina, a runaway "slave" for own kind, octolings, with a passion for DJ-ing you get success. Also my Nintendo handle is a star symbol a music note a star symbol and a music note if anyone wants to friend me😗

Team past, i want splatoon to get something similar to pokemon legends arceus where it takes what we already know of the past and what happened back then, and explores/expands it further
Firstly, you wouldn’t be doing what you are now without the events in your past, nobody wouldn’t be who they are without the unique ways they were raised and cared for, I would be who I am without my childhood and how everyone around me has shaped me over the years, therefore, if you are wong, you must make a pretendo account and play Splatoon 1 multiplayer on a 24 hour livestream as splatoon wouldn’t be what it is without that first crucial entry.
I think, for me, I'd like to see a change to the formula we're so used to, even if it's just new characters and such. Of course, we don't know what other changes are going to be made for Splatoon 4, and they'll be doing a soft reboot of the story, and likely of the characters, no matter what we choose. I've always been someone to look towards the future, and the idea of a futuristic version of the Splatoon world seems pretty interesting to me, so that's the team I'm going to choose.

as a neurodivergent [person, if I only think about my present, i don't get anything done and just watch RUclips all day. i have to consider my future and if people in general don't consider the future, they are setting themselves up for a much worse present. because your future will eventually become the present. and if us as a society can't think about our future, we will destroy our planet. long term thinking is absolutely vital in my mind because of this.
I personally think the Past and Future have the most potential for future stories in Splatoon. The present is nice, but what good is the present if you never look back to learn from the past, or look ahead to carve out your ideal future?
With that said, I chose the Past, cause thats where the most lessons can be learned from. The people in the past, lived before us and made mistakes, so that we could look back on those mistakes and learn how to avoid them. Plus, we should cherish every memory we have, even the bad. At the very least, they can bring comfort or pride in how far we have come

I was hesitating between team present and future!! It was especially hard to choose, the factor that made me choose present is that I’m a Splatoon 2 player, I had the Octo Expansion. Off the Hook have a soft spot in my heart. But really, I feel like all the themes are SO important to society! Good luck to everyone participating!!
I also think it'll be a close call between Present and Future being the most popular. I'll be on Team Present, but I could see the popularity vote going either way.
If Team Past is most popular, then you have to do any one of the challenges that you performed on stream from EVERY splatfest prediction you got incorrect (i.e. one challenge from the chocolate splatfest, one from the money splatfest, one from the frostyfest, etc etc)!
If Team Future is most popular, then try to think of a new class of main weapon, a new type of sub weapon, and a new type of special weapon that could be added to Splatoon 4 (basically do some brainstorming on what new types of weapons could be added to Splatoon)!
I don’t want palsy to win because of Splatoon four, I want past to win because the past is the greatest virtue. To people who say past is guilt and future is anxiety, your wrong! Japan makes up for most of the player base and I think that there's a high possibility of Past winning there (respect for the OG game and Japanese values), but I think other regions will push Present to win. I don't see Future taking the win at all. Past will probably have more adults on it too, as again some people who respect the original game will join, so that could definitely boost performance and make it tight between Present + Past.

Him and I are both anxious severe cases of ADHD worry-rats and the way he discussed how one must not let the past drives their choice (fear, anxiety, pre-formed opinions due to past experience) and not worry about the future as to not be stressed but live in the present, the moment itself for it is all e truly have !

I do feel like if team present wins we will get slight changes same as past but if we pick future we might stay in theme of what nintendo wants therefore making it easier for them to decide what content they want. I chose Team past mainly because what you said, and it genuinely does shape you as a person. As I've made my point to everyone else, the past is not always about always knowing what you did in the past, but how you execute what you've learned from your experiences. Without a past, the present you or even a future would not even exist. If you can't learn from the past how can you shape yourself? Your friends, your experiences or sorrow without knowing the importance of what it means? The past is there to help you reevaluate your decisions that you make, and the present is there to execute those experiences you did in the past. Therefore, past is very much important.

I personally think future is just the objectively correct answer, because past's only argument is that it's what got you to the present. For present I say, why do you have a job? why do you have a calendar? Simply put, the present works to make the future better.
Idc what people think present is most important because we actually have full control of what we do. We can’t change the past. All we can do about the past is reflect, learn, and to keep moving on and continuing to grow. and future all we can do is have a plan in the PRESENT in hopes to reach a goal in the future. In my opinion present is the most important. An easy choice for me.
I think you should be on team present because you can’t control what already happened in the past and some of us might not have a future or think to much about that you might get stressed out so it’s just best to live in the moment and control what you can control now which is why I am going to be on team present
I think it would be cool if past won and Splatoon 4 was a prequel or if future won and Splatoon 4 is a sequel. But logically team present makes the most sense for the question.
