Such an exciting time nick, congrats! I love this stage as you can plan all the wiring but I am a nerd like that. It’s so easy at this stage to pre-wire for things like a car charger or an inverter in the loft in case you ever get solar… I’d consider putting the boiler in the loft if I were you, to minimise its noise. Keep up the good work 👍🏼

I like the roof tile colour, I’ve looked at photos of houses with Painswick Grey windows and I like them, an interesting colour which will complement the new extension and roof, i think some sympathetically placed composite cladding on some of the front will go well with the new window colour, the house is now almost weather resistant for working inside.

Hello Nick, Thanks for the update. Still a lot to do, but it will be a stunner! Love the shots of the front and back gardens. Quite a large property, and looks to be a lovely neighborhood! Looking forward to the next update. Take care.

Great progress Nick. The roof tiles are really nice. Hopefully the weather will dry up a bit to help the roofer and builders .

I'm not one to "get" into roofing, except when there's a leak. Although very impressed with this one perhaps the tile color, changed the whole look of the house. What are your thoughts about your now backyard pond? Understandably it's at the bottom of the list. That has really morphed into a conundrum.

Thanks! Drain it, lower the rubble that is in there a couple of feet by organising it better, filling with soil from the driveway excavation and grass on top!

Dig the pool structure out Nick and then when you level the garden put the soil in to the hole. Don’t fill with hardcore, this will cause a dry patch of earth (it drains faster than surrounding earth) and anything you grow on it will die quickly. Grass turns brown.

It’s looking fab. Just binged whole series up to date. Be good to know costs up until now … looking at doing a similar extension on our new property. Though we putting 2nd story above existing single story extension on side

Thanks! Will show costs at the end of the structural work. Good luck with your own renovation

Nick, I reckon you should consider putting a sloping roof to the side of the house over the garage, using those lovely tiles. It would look so much better than keeping the flat roof! 😊

I agree - this is job 1000 of 1000 and will make a big difference - plus have the spare tiles already

Would be nice in this era of reuse and being green to hire a small crusher and crush all those old bricks and rubble to throw into the swimming pool or use as a subbase somewhere on the property. Would be fun too.

With a kitchen that size it would be almost sacrilegious not to have an AGA?
