  • Hi everyone! This is my review of the Philips Azur 8000 Steam Iron.
Thank you to Philips for sending this to me to review!
Firstly, the iron is beautiful, love the navy and copper colours. Secondly, it is so easy to use, there’s no need to try to work out what setting for what material, it just knows! Magic.
It’s easier to pour water in than the irons I have previously used, I used cooled down water from my kettle as I live in a hard water area, although there’s a special calc removal function on this iron! Amazing! Still I will use the kettle water just in case rather than tap water.
The steam function works well, and it glides nicely on the clothing.
I like that you can wrap the cord around the bottom for easy storage (once cooled down of course!), and the cord is long!
    Well done Philips!

    So good.

Can I ask, mine seems to make a noise and vibrate when moving it. As if a little pump is sucking water really quickly?

Its normal, it is a sensor that knows when the iron needs to release steam.

Can you explain what all the setting are?
    I’m finding it confusing

Here is a link to the manual: www.philips.co.uk/c-p/DST8050_26/azur-8000-series-steam-iron/support
If you are having any issues, just check that you’ve not accidentally got it on the steam only setting rather than the iron setting. :)

@@lou_sheffield is there a steam only setting? So you could use it on more delicate items like silk?

You don’t need to set a temperature, it automatically knows (using OptimalTEMP technology).

Bought 2 months ago and now it’s not working at all.
This iron doesn’t even get hot as you wanted to. Made ironing so slow then just 2 months for £160???

So many reviews of the azure 8000 where it’s stopped working. Don’t understand why there products are not getting the checks required.

Is it worth the £100 plus price tag?

    • @lou_sheffield

I wouldn’t go back to an iron where you have to work out the setting for each garment. However, I can’t see how it would be worth spending an additional approx £50 for the more expensive model (the DST8050/26).

I purchased one but it takes more than 2 minutes just to get ready for ironing.
This is too much of time.
