    As a member of the audience I applaud you for enhancing my "Billy Elliot" experience with these {for want of a better word} stage props. Well done.

    @adrummingman The bed trap is incorporated into the main trap, the tricky part is ensuring that the bed (which revolves with the house) lines up with the trap.

    @jackoooo43 They are designed and made to customer specification and they can be shipped to USA, but I suspect it would be easier to use a local stage engineering company.

    That's really impressive!
    Does the round trap door have two different "covers"? Because the one shown here has another opening for the bed, instead the one opening up for the House Set in the other video of yours.

    @jackoooo43 the lift mechanisms were made by Delstar Engineering Ltd in the UK.

    In London the bed is on a seperate hydraulic ram, I suspect that NYC is similar. Hope you liked the book.

    I watched the show in NYC. Loved the automation. How did you get the railing around the bed to drop down and keep the bed level with the stage? Was the bed on a seperate lift? If so what type? I couldn't tell. Also I just finished your book.

      Hey! So it looks like they can have the bed ve connected when they need it, but that they have the ability to function separately! There is a lot of work going on under the stage too, with all of the sunroof closing door being stored just to the side. I believe that there are different scenes when it is just the bed, and when there is a whole railing. This stuff takes a lot of time to perfect, and the timing needs to be programmed just right for the scene transition to flow!

    Also how did you do the sunroof floor openings that drop down the same at front and back instead of the back dropping down first?

    that's so cool!! but why does the bed stay up for a few extra seconds??

      it's just a test, in the show they use it individually

    @jackoooo43 The only US company I know of, i.e. with an international reputation is JR Clancy. However I'm sure that there must be many others, so I would think a bit of 'Googling' would find something more local to you.

    Why not just have pieces or the stage go down, the crew will slide a set piece on, and then have it go back up?

    • @MaraMara89
      @MaraMara89 3 года назад +2

      that will take more time and elements (bed) are not secure - can fall down when the stage is moving
