Being from/still residing in PG County, it makes me proud to see artists like IDK, Rico Nasty, Masego, GoldLink, Brent Faiyaz etc get the recognition they deserve. We have so many legends in the game where most don’t even know they’re from here and a serious new wave of talent on the horizon. This area definitely doesn’t get the credit that we’ve made and still make on the culture. DMV ALL DAY🤟🏾

You & I have similar stories, I’m from Fort Wash in PG. Everything you said it’s truth. About how you can get grants from being kicked out the City, then move to PG or Moco and perpetuate the same energy from whence you came. Suburban life/Median housing don’t mean a better life, it’s nothing w/o psychological healing which most of us don’t realize til we get older if we do at all. As of right now you the only from our area w/ your influence telling these stories from In The Water to this and I thank God for you. Been rockin since HXLY, keep teaching bro.~ Haze

The way you all spoke with the utmost respect to those still there, and then the interviewer too. Those places might not look like much to some people but to others, it has potentially been their whole lives. Not everybody gets to know more than where they came from. Even with gentrification that appreciation shows through and shows that the past as history should be tied to those areas more than what they become. Just like it's artists.

Such a great and insightful interview. I love hearing my brothers speak on things that affect their hoods, how it's made them who they are, and how we can change as a whole. Ones that are in tune with their emotions and choose to speak positivity into the universe. This interview was great

I was born in DC in 1971 & grew up in the DMV & I used to think “I wonder what people who visit think about the parts of the city that don’t have any monuments or tourists destinations? Like the east side of the city cuz you have the richest (or 1 of) city in ‘Murica with neighborhoods that look like borderline 3rd world countries…..I’ve been to SE….Barry Farms back in the day & it was no joke
IDK thank you for another great interview! I thought it was a great idea to go out into the neighborhood that inspired your art and have a real conversation with those with roots there. Few other artists would think of doing something like this, so thank you for again being about more than just the music. The music is incredible, but even better is the culture of understanding and empowering that you're creating surrounding it!

This hood is very dangerous keep in mind its 4 different parts. Benning Heights, The Avenue, the courts and the circle. I lived around there as teen. It was a great learning experience
