    5:43 That's really the core of the problem. The tools to deal with 9 are kinda lacking unless you turn the game into a stealth game, just run objectives and avoid fighting as much as possible. Heck, 9 is pretty easy if you play like that, but many would agree that's not exactly the most fun way to play the game.
    Also "Strategizing about the best ways to win out against the overwhelming odds" sounds like you just described the meta. There will always be the currently understood optimal way.. to win.. we call the meta. The most powerful things get popular for a reason.

      I am talking about variety and developing classes not everyone on 1 loadout. I think level 7 should be baseline for what people seem to want with 9 being overwhelming and requiring deep strategy. And I don’t think avoidance is the only solution. Many people are ruling out viability immediately after the nerf when the game has been out only 1 month and in that 1 month vast majority used essentially 1 loadout. Maybe nothing else is truly viable but I don’t think it’s been properly tested out yet and I would like to get there before helldive mode itself is nerfed and underwhelming

      ​@@DrPooplove the jury is in, nothing else was viable. The game is currently FUBAR. Almost everyone I started playing with a month ago has uninstalled by now. I'm giving this game a tasteful funeral in my heart BC it had so much potential. Helldivers 1 looks like it has a better understanding of balance, not sure why they couldn't translate it.

    I was pretty missed yesterday but I'm still coming up through the levels and learning and adjusting.
    I'm kind of an idiot. I actually thought that even though the devs said that the breaker was only nerfed in magazine size (which probably wasn't necessary, but isnt a dealbreaker for the bugs) and increased the kick (or recoil, which I think makes a lot of sense). I thought that somehow it was now taking me two to three shots to kill the little hunters (baby stalkers?). But because I was playing on difficulty 5 & 6 for the first hand full of times and it was really my first game or 2 after the balance patch I came across the adolescent stalkers (adult hunters?) and it was taking me two to three headshots to kill them, with the breaker. I didn't realize that they were bigger than the little baby ones but not a full stalker and I was thinking WTF? Why is it taking two to three times as many shots they lied! Or something unintended happened?😅
    And then I experienced a shitty bug that ended up with me losing a bunch of samples and I got all pissed off and quit for the night...
    Got on last night and quickly realized that I was mistaken!
    I'm an idiot... I even commented on a bunch of RUclips videos about this incorrectly. So I'm a bit embarrassed, but I really hope that the community can quit being divided. It was and I think it will be again one of the best communities in gaming that I've seen in a long time!

    Honestly i think that when its time to balancing things its best making the underpowerd things overpowerd instead of nerfing the better stuff but i migth be wrong

      that's how I thought they would do it too but I do like how they explained this a bit. I think they are trying to have coordination and strategy take a more important seat to getting through the hardest modes

    On my other channel I’m making a video on how hell divers 2 has a massive burn out issue. Like I’ll be having so much fun but after a while it gets so repetitive

      I suspect they will add more variety but also hopefully not having a meta and playing to different viable playstyles will help with that

      I think that they might have had like a mini game mode where you had some sort of sword and you just got attacked by little enemies. So while I'll say nothing is out of the realm of possibilities. I don't think it'll happen anytime soon.

    I’m sorry, I’m not gonna waste 40 minutes of my life to fail and die over and over, not get the samples, not hit the poi”s, get killed over and over (accidentally or not) by my teammates, all in the name of light hearted fun. Also, a developer loses its fan base when it lets its “vision” get in the way of what the players want. When this game launched, to astronomical numbers, you didn’t hear anyone complaining about weapons being too strong or enemies not spawning enough, or the game being too easy. People were having a blast and the sales numbers and concurrent player count was evidence of that. The game seemed to launch pitch perfect outside of the server issues. Server issues as a result of the game being way more popular than they thought. So what does AH do? With their co-op PVE ONLY game? That the whole world was enjoying? “Hey let’s nerf all the fun shit that everyone is using, quadruple the spawn rates, and turn this NON PVP game into an annoying, fly landing on your face simulator.” Nerfs make sense in a PVP game. They make zero sense in a single player or PVE game. Especially when the people who pay your bills aren’t complaining. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Is this what happened with the first game? No wonder nobody played it.

    I don’t necessarily agree. The argument is we were able to have fun when we could deal with all the adds, and it felt like we had a fighting chance. But now it’s constant bile titans, chargers, and hordes of hunters. It’s not fun when you spend the game collecting samples and you fumble right at extract. Or when people get tired and leave part way through a mission and you at a disadvantage. I’m all for balancing and making sure we have different ways to deal with adds, but when nothing feels effective when you’re over run it’s frustrating. And the argument that it’ll get better later is one I’m tired of hearing when it comes to modern games. I know there’s always gonna be problems, but they tipped the scale drastically in the wrong direction.

      Respect the take here I just think the reaction by many was too much. I think they should make level 7 the sweet spot where you can realistically expect to win out and get your samples but I would like Helldive to be overwhelming and ridiculously hard so that well coordinated teams can employ strategies and show us all how to manage it with more than just a meta. I do worry all the backlash will result in an underwhelming Helldive experience but we will see

      Ahh chargers, they are fast as fuck and have unlimited stamina and NOW you can't kill them with a railgun, fun times.

    The problem people have with this "balance" patch is they didn't add any options to deal with armor besides making the flamethrower good at killing chargers quickly, they could have made the laser cannon melt armor off or make the AMR punch holes through armor but no they just went the lazy route which rubs people the wrong way. The mechs are a good addition but once you are out of ammo you are done. Also the idea of just your stratagems to take out the packs of chargers/titans/hulks/tanks the game throws at you is quite dumb since they always have a modifier that makes them really unreliable and they are just really inconsistent, a slight difference in terrain completely negates a 500kg or they land 8 meters from where you threw them. People want other options to be viable not wet noodles.

      Yeah I want the weapons themselves to be more viable. I think it will get there but some might already be there and we have been sleeping on it

      @@DrPooplove I think you are underestimating how quickly people figure out the good from the bad, and also genuinely a lot of weapons are terribly ineffective at even 6+ including stratagems. Love the content and the personality.

    The only time I get pissed at people is when they kill me like 10 times in a row and not paying attention. Also then they do it right before you get on the ship (On Purpose) they then grab your samples and you don’t extract.

    i maxed out orbital and hangar, not using anything else in loadout on helldive. i just run around kite and obliterate the map lol

    The discussions online don't seem to reflect people you meet in game, like at all. I have never met anyone intentionally team killing people, and have never been kicked at extraction, in almost 150 hours of playtime, despite people talking about that sort of thing all the time. People don't get that mad when you accidentally kill them either. I have never seen anyone in any game flame or yell at any of the other players. I play exclusively with random people.

    how this can be fun with, CAP medals, CAP level, CAP samples, CAP maney. ABOUT the weapons... the Starship Troopers Extermination shows HOW to kill impossible bugs with trash weapons is trully possible and fun, yeah, you need 1 magazine to kil a warrior, but its possible and we can deal with the bugs with hard/fun, helldivers its not so fun its just hard and unfairl, and remember this is a shooting game, we need good weapons to shoot, not 40 weak weapons

      well for capping out, I doubt most people are capped but we have new stuff coming every month I think. I do agree though that I would like more primary guns that can get you through. Still having fun tho

      i mean, why we play this game? rewards? no, i don't receive any medal or samplas because cap is so short. Kill enemies? we don't have any reward for kill things and we dont have firepower to face a battalion of robots or bugs. So we have level to achive? No! So why we play? for the hard mode? for conque the same planets with other names? MY GOD WE HAVE TO SAVE MAVELON CREECK!!! really? why? for medals i will not recive? to know how the histoy of Joel is making for this game?
      i dont know you understand my point, i use the google haha , the weak weapons its not the problem, lets see the next two months to understand what they are biunding for the game

    I'm convinced the devs only play on extreme or suicide diff. They're pretty manageable for your average gamer. This is the thing though, to complete Helldive diff as it stands with the new nerfs to weapons, alongside campaign effects that affect stratagem CD, -slot, and call-time+ make completing Helldive very very very frustrating...it's not necessarily hard....but it's infuriating to play for the vast majority of players. And I get that YT has guides and videos of how this game works. But I'm afraid to say that we're all red pilled in thar regard, we seek out knowledge and solutions and compare them to ours or iterate further more....most gamers...just in general don't have the same drive as us to know the game and just play it. In a way...that's what sucks about this game...also....every weapon that I've able to finally save up for as been changed days later or even hours later. I was able to play with the OG slugger for 7hours before the they nerfed it! Doesn't feel good saving for things that are shown as good only to find out a change to the weapon a week or 2 down the line will decrease its performance almost always negatively it seems rather than actually trying something different out like buffing the less optimal guns and give them a chance to thrive in the game. If the gun isn't being used in the game....there's a reason for it, we might not have good solutions as players....but it's their job to provide solutions for a live service game that makes sense to the player base...maybe have polls with different ideas to buff weapons and allow HD community to vote. But in game!!!! Fucking discord is full and im done trying to snag a slot. Idk weird

    Nah, i see way too many people here with some sort of elitist mentality that will only talk about the railgun nerf this update and say everyone is a scrub. I don't see much duscussion about how armor feels now, the enemy spawn rate increased, and members of the helldivers discord and reddit adding more fire to the flames. In all my years of playing helldivers 1&2 ive never seen so much drama.

    im super worried about helldivers 2
    if THIS is how the community will react every time the devs make ONE update then its either going to lose its positive playerbase or gradually die
    i dont want either happening

    The rail gun was overpowered, simple as that. I was 1 shotting bile titans in helldive.. very clearly not intended lol. The game is supposed to be difficult on levels 7-9 and you can still do big damage with the rail gun, you just have to turn it on unsafe and charge it, VERY fair imo. The shield nerf was unnecessary but the breaker and rail gun, bring that on. They buffed other stuff and they have 3 different guns coming next week and we’re all “working” to unlock mechs right now. Then we’ll get vehicles. My only issue with this game (aside from mission variety) is the stratagem cooldown. I got 6 guns on my ship, they should be ready a little quicker.

      the railgun was nerfed based on a bug where if a ps5 player was hosting you could 2 shot a bile titan to the head, as someone who played on pc, and only with friends on pc, i have never replicated that with the railgun, that's why i'm so confused as to why they nerfed it, instead of fixing the bug. previously it would take 6-7 shots to kill a bile titan to the head (in unsafe) which seemed reasonable, now it's 20-23 shots almost fully charged to take one down... i will never use it again on pc unless they figure out what they want to do with the thing, as of right now, for a lvl 20 weapon, it's so needlessly bad on pc i haven't used it since.

    Game was fantastic, and i mean astronomically so at launch (gamneplay-wise). But then they jsut made it harder. And harder. And harder. And harder. Now, I tdont think the game is fun. I don't want to get off work to sweat dodge rockets and one hit kill/one hit ragdoll enemies jsut to be found in another horde for 30 minutes a mission. It feels like a second job if not a chore. So i uninstalled and am hoping the devs go back to what the game originally was instead of sucking all the fun out of it. Please for the love of all that is good note that this is my PERSONAL OPINION. That said, incoming "git gud" comments.

    Being mad about people not using the meta is so boring and unfun. The devs themselves had to tell us to have fun. Luckily i havent had any bad experiences except one Automaton sympathiser and a guy who just sucked so much he kept killing me and my friends with trash grenade throws and trash aim.

      Yeah I think by all the things they didn’t touch it’s telling us there might be more ways to get through stuff but everyone just stuck on the meta for so long didn’t allow us to discover that

    I’m very happy they nerfed the railgun. It was just dumd and made the game completely arbitrary with how easy even the toughest enemies went down.
    I don’t know it just seems like people want it easy and like lack a sense of self esteem or awareness to not want those overpowered things that trivialize the game. Like why are we playing this? To overcome a challenge of some kind? Or get an ego stroke that we “best the hardest difficulty” when it wasn’t even that hard with the railgun/breaker combo?
    For example I refuse to use the breaker. Because it’s retarded! It’s so easy and dumb that it takes any effort out of the game at all and any sense of anxiety. BUT YET I see so many people still running it. Why? It’s like people hate challenge and trying new things and just want the easiest things possible irregardless of how that affects the overall experience of the game.

      Yeah I think they want strategy and coordination to be the key to victory, not brute force only

      @@DrPooplove i don’t know. On some levels there’s conflicting things happening if that were to be true. Like if that was true why does the game resort to just brute forcing you to make things harder? Excessive enemy spawns, mass amounts of chargers, etc.
      I’m not sure what they want for the game BUT WHAT I DO KNOW. Is they just want it to be fun. What that ends up being I don’t know but I doubt a high fidelity of “strategy” is a part of that.

      @@jayc342009 wrong. they dont "suck" their just not good at everything like the railgun was. they have certain ways you have to use them. like the lazer cannon for example that you have to pinpoint on weak points. this isnt "sucking" this is skill.

      @@LakevusParadice It's nothing to do with skill, it's what people find fun. The other special weapons aren't fun to use and they do suck, apart from the flamethrower. I have not seen anyone in my games using the lazer cannon.

    The devs are not the ones gonna ruin this game the community is,I don’t look at the Reddit anymore it’s too toxic.i hope the devs continue updating the game and realize the spoiled brats will complain regardless of what they do anyway

      @@emsione because the devs didn't think about that, they just thought nerfing the railgun will fix the game. They don't seem to realise that most the guns on helldivers 2 absolutely suck.

    I'm guilty of grieving and kicking people for refusing to open the two button garages with me, or instantly reinforcing me to them when my equipment is with a teammate on the other side of the map

    Agreed. I got worked up initially until I actually thought about it. We just need time and trial and error. They do need to tweak enemy spawns and strength a little sometimes it’s extreme but they stated they’re on it. Flamethrower directed towards charger front legs literally takes them down in 5 seconds roughly. I’m just trying everything now to see what’s best for what checking stratagems again etc… Have fun and do it for the cause! 🫡🫂

      Exactly now I am looking at everything. And I do think it’s telling that they only buffed 2 support weapons. Makes me think we are sleeping on a lot
