    I don't see people on the right as idiots. I don't understand how people can't see that when they escape poverty they change their mind about people affected by inequality. I experienced homelessness as a child, was raised in poverty, and my family made it to working class after I was out of high school. And I went on to get both an undergraduate and law degree back when college was affordable. But at least I know times have changed. I've also never flipped over to seeing the meritocracy as fair nor have I blamed poor people for being poor. I've seen how the US has become a service economy and how wages have stagnated from the 70s. If I can see this, why can't people on the right? I don't get the need to put one's self above others. To believe that it's all our own doing-- that every person is an island and deserving of the bad things that happen in life (that is, until it's their kid standing in front of a judge) --, and so everyone should be able to do the same to escape poverty. Reality is... we're not all starting from the same point even if we start from the same financial point.
    You've not explained how the privilege left and right can think so differently because based on what you said, the privileged on the left, like me, should believe as people on the right do because we're privileged. (Even when we climb out, and yes, I've witnessed that phenomena-- turning one's back on the poor and blaming them --repeatedly.) That's evidence that a change in status brings about a change in what we think is not "everybody." Same would be true of people privilege from the beginning who look at the societal causes of poverty. I look at issues in terms of how they will affect the poor and working classes and not my pocketbook. When it comes to voting, I don't need to vote for politicians who are pandering to me because I don't need an extra leg up and I'm pretty certain my needs will be taken into account. Who won't be taken into account are the poor and working classes.
    Society benefits when we take care of all of our members by ensuring opportunity. As someone on the left, I want opportunities for people on the right, their kids, and their grandkids. I want to tackle climate change for them and theirs.
    The worsening financial divide makes jumping between classes much more difficult. How do people on the right think inequality is bad and yet also think people on the left are the threat and talk as if poverty is a You problem and not an US problem?
    You've given me nothing to figure out how to talk about this to people on the right who seem to dismiss me out of hand because they so often seem to believe that poverty is a personal moral failing. (At least, that's the sort of biased thinking I hear in comments when I try. to talk about these issues.)

Now if someone has a _hidden agenda,_ that's another matter entirely, because purposefully misleading others is wrong. If you think of it, then a *real* agenda can actually be a good thing.

    We're all stronger as a team than we are divided and bickering over the few scraps those in power toss at us like meat to dogs kept in cages. We are being purposefully divided by a government run by corporate interests. Very few of us benefit, and things keep getting worse because they succeed in getting us to fight each other instead of demanding change for the good of all. Most people only wish for peace and prosperity. But for the wanton greed of some few, we could *all* have peace *and* prosperity.

    Hegelian Dialectic. We have been conditioned by our culture to see conflict and division before we see harmony or unity. We focus in on our differences and instigate conflict without thinking first. For too many in the U.S. its about Blue Team loyalty or Red Team loyalty with closed minds.

    • @aylbdrmadison1051
      @aylbdrmadison1051 4 года назад +1

      Both teams are mistaken and more often flawed than not because to a greater extent both are driven by fear/greed. It is capitalism run amok without a democracy to keep them in check. This is why there are only 2 parties, and we could even end up with one party, even in name (we already have a one party system run by corporate interests, two sides of the same coin).
      I've been around long enough to see that the democrats are like what the republicans used to be, and the republicans have have jumped off the deep end. Both are just facets of the right wing now. The only difference is in the extremity of just how far right they are willing to admit to being. Many of them even switch _"sides"_ regularly as if there wasn't much of a difference. It's all an act, and a very bad one at that. Most of the rest of the world laughs now at *America's Reality Show Politics.*
      I completely agree with the conditioning you mention. Divide and conquer is the oldest tactic in the book, and it's a tactic that has been used against the common human for many many thousands of years. Anything and everything from classism and monotheism, to racism and ageism are all division tactics the power seekers of the world purposefully incite in the common world citizen in an effort to maintain their own power and control over us all.
      This is why such talks are incredibly important to us all.

    • @aylbdrmadison1051
      @aylbdrmadison1051 4 года назад +2

      @Tran Son : The problem is that capitalism without democracy only encourages greed and unsustainability. This is doubly true of corporations. Not only that, things are further skewed and made even less sustainable through the fact that the richest among us can just buy the laws that allow them to grab up even more wealth and power, while screwing the rest of us out of what little hard earned prosperity we've managed to attain.
      You said: _"There are enough policy which are sponsored by cooperations"_ and on that point I can agree, although I think you meant to say: _There are enough _*_good policies_*_ which are sponsored by corporations._ If so, in my estimation that would be an unwise assumption at best.
      To be clear, I'm not saying you are not smart or that I am smarter. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses, and I am open to debate on anything I say as well. I take pride in the fact I actually will fact check myself somewhat often, and find that sometimes I am wrong too. We're all human and no human is even remotely infallible.
      I wish you (and everyone else) peace and prosperity. ^-^

    • @transon6655
      @transon6655 4 года назад

      Aylbdr Madison A policy is most often relative good, there are no good for all. If it helps someone it will most often hurt someone else. Which is why I don't like cooperation sponsoring policies. But I subcribe to limited government so they don't have the incentive to bribe politician. I don't subcribe to the view to expand government so they can redistrubute wealth so rich people can't bribe politician because if there are no super rich people then there will be middle rich people who will bribe the politicians who have even more power now.
