I’ve driven a Miata since 2001 as my primary car. No regrets. You will be shocked how much you can actually pack in a Miata as long as you played Tetris as a child.
My first car was a triumph spitfire, not much luggage space there. When I got my miata, I felt like I was driving a big ole’ LTD. With the miata, I could have two pieces of luggage……..
Donald Hollums Lmao yeah I know what you mean about Redline, Sofyan or something like that is his name? There's several good channels now for comprehensive car reviews.
These Kelly Blue Book review videos have next-level camera work, constantly flying around the car to give it a 3-D appearance that makes it pop out of the scene. Most other car sites just put the camera on a tripod or suction cup it to the window and read off the script Mazda or whoever gave them.
I just want to say what a treat KBB reviews are. This host in particular is such a delight to watch, but every host I've seen has been enjoyable. These videos are always succinct, fun to watch, actually insightful, and they have such a peppy, nice attitude. I know this is an older video but keep up the good work. Never stop funding this division of KBB.
I had a 92 mariner blue Mazda Miata with the hardtop in my 20’s and it was the most fun I ever had driving . Also before I sold it to a cousin down on his luck I only ever had to do basic maintenance and change an alternator in 298,000 miles
Really good camera work - especially the shots walking around the car while focused on the host talking about the car. Great combinations of movement and zoom that appear effortless and natural. And that car's pretty good too.
The cameraman is top-performing for its class, and will probably hold a higher than usual resale value. Plus it is dependable and holds tight during those corners and tricky situations.
I really like the MX-5 RF, and I would love to have a stick shift, but I'm disabled, and my only safe option is an automatic. I can drive stick, but it's difficult (and dangerous) downshifting into turns with only one hand. So I get automatics. I like that fun cars like these are offered with an automatic option so people like me can drive them, too. I have a Mazda3, and I can attest to how damn fun Mazdas are to drive. Even the automatics. :)
My mums the same! Im getting an auto mx-5 soon and I could get manual but I know shes gonna want to drive it just as much as me. Test drove an auto and its amazing to drive.
finally, im buying mine one a few months , that last segment at the end was truly a beautiful little clip awesome this is why Kelley Blue Book car auto reviews is the best on RUclips hands down
You have to love Mazda for keeping the Miata and retaining its purity in an era of giant infotainment units, adjustable driving modes, DCT gearboxes, magnetic dampers, leather everything and electrification that you can still get a brand new RWD 6MT roadster that is
Get one ... *especially* when you can't justify it. It's endless fun, cheap to maintain and run. It is way less impractical than you might think: the boot has roughly the volume of a regular shopping cart so it can hold a week's worth of shopping.
Appreciate the review. I've been a happy owner of a 2001 for just about 2 years. The RF looks amazing. It's out of my price range now, as I am in grad school. I can dream though...
Yeah. Me 10 minutes ago: "I've seen all the reviews for cars I might actually get. Let's see what Micah's reviewed that would be fund to watch him review."
If you have a job and no kids, you can afford this car. Stop eating so many cheeseburgers and fries, make coffee at home, quit smoking and drinking, and there's your $200 monthly payment.
At 3:22, I lolled 😃. Word of advice, when going in the big house, probably best to leave your "I ❤ my Miata t-shirt at home" I recently reviewed an MX-5 and I took it along the Great Ocean Road in Australia, a road trip for which the Miata is perfectly suited. Well mostly, by the time I got my camera gear in I only had room for a toothbrush and a change of socks! As always a great review and the camera work was once again fantastic.
HI, I have a question: I own a Mazda3 here in Colombia where services are recommended to be done every 5000 kilometers (3106 miles) which I think is waay too often! I want to know the maintainance in the United States. I found out in Canada is every 8000 mi which is12874 kilometers and when I made the conversion I was shocked, but I also noticed that the said maintainance is made to canadian driving conditions which made me wonder that check ups in Colombia are more often because of the poor quality of our streets... Anyway too much info for such a little info tip I wanna know. And yes im typing this in all KBB Mazda reviews :)
I got an old ford van I'm going to pimp out as my first car but I'm terrified because it's huge and doesn't have windows in the back except for the rear panel windows. I wish I could get like a 3rd person camera thingy or a backup camera with the predetermined lines
My neighbor just got this same one, same color and everything, it looks good, a lot more expensive looking than it is. He's pretty tall too and seems happy with it. It's a good looking cheaper midlife crisis car. HA HA
Ceramic Metallic Paint; Black Roof and Wheels; BBR Upgrade Performance offered in the UK without threatening the Warranty and im down.... Yet i forgot my 6´5 frame wouldn't fit inside.
Teighlour Swyftte It must have been posted somewhere else? I know I've seen the video bc he talked about the lumbar support pillow and the small passenger footwell. There's other familiarities. I saw it more than a week ago.
Natsu Dragneel personally mine is an astin martin vanquish. But I saw someone at work who had a mazda Q50 infiniti so I've been looking up mazda vids lmao
Just too much money for a weekend toy without telescoping wheel. I love the engine in this car. Sounds fantastic and loves to rev. That said, the used market is this cars worst enemy at this price
It's interesting to note the difference in spec levels between markets. Here in Australia my 2017 RF Sport (the base RF model for us) when new came with reverse camera, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, LSD, 7" touchscreen, but no Bose audio. Humans make decisions based on our emotions, and we then try to use logic/reason to justify why we made those decisions. The MX5 is pretty much entirely an emotional purchase. I can't think of a single practical reason why I bought mine, especially when I have a company truck that I get free use, of including free fuel. But my Mitsubishi truck, as worthy and dependable as it is, isn't fun. And as I explained to my girlfriend (an accountant, who was horrified at the $122 a week finance payment for a car I don't need)....I don't have kids, I don't have a mortgage, I don't smoke, I rarely go out drinking. I need some excitement in my life. The MX5 provides it in spades.

Of all the people (professional, semi-pro and RUclips "stars" doing car reviews, Micah and Zach, have probably the best reviews out there.
Bruce Boehm agreed. Zach is a great reviewer
I'd include Motorweek as well for good, comprehensive car reviews. I used to watch Redline Reviews, but that Reviewer is too whiny.
Bruce Boehm They are good! I actually sold a motorcycle to Zach he's a cool guy. Have you seen Everyday Driver? They're good too.
Donald Hollums Lmao yeah I know what you mean about Redline, Sofyan or something like that is his name? There's several good channels now for comprehensive car reviews.
I'd also include Tom Voelk from Driven Car Reviews. That RUclips channel and this one are the two I go to first for car reviews.
These Kelly Blue Book review videos have next-level camera work, constantly flying around the car to give it a 3-D appearance that makes it pop out of the scene. Most other car sites just put the camera on a tripod or suction cup it to the window and read off the script Mazda or whoever gave them.
This was the first review of a Miata that spoke to the adoration of it but didn't sound like advertisement for it. Great balance Micah.
"ready to go fast? Downshift, downshift, downshift, downshift, downshift, ... weeeeee!"
Love this car

i expected a childish review , but all i got was a reasonable grown up mini documentary . even with this cute outro , solid review micah
Thanks, for the kind words.

That's such a nice review, love the narrative, humour, camera, everything.
Really good camera work - especially the shots walking around the car while focused on the host talking about the car. Great combinations of movement and zoom that appear effortless and natural.
And that car's pretty good too.
Thanks, Robert! We really appreciate your feedback.

Hard to believe how "small" the subscriber base for this channel is. Great review as always.

Mazda makes a really good automatic in my opinion. I wouldn't be discouraged about getting one instead of a manual.
My mums the same! Im getting an auto mx-5 soon and I could get manual but I know shes gonna want to drive it just as much as me. Test drove an auto and its amazing to drive.
One of the best reviews I've seen from Micah
Solid unbiased reviews nothing better on RUclips. Keep up the good work guys.
Thanks for your support, Muhammad!
For the price and 95% of the time, I drive alone and never give rides, I’m all in. Probably getting one this weekend
or a motorcycle !
finally, im buying mine one a few months , that last segment at the end was truly a beautiful little clip awesome this is why Kelley Blue Book car auto reviews is the best on RUclips hands down
Pretty cool the last roadster that I've seen was a Saturn Sky and Chrysler Crossfire
I am sold . What a blast !! It resembles a Corvette Stingray in profile . A very good review .
Yours was the best Miata review I’ve seen on here.
Very striking design and a good, comprehensive review. Good job as always, KBB!
I think I just found a new favorite car reviewer.
Best car reviews on RUclips!!
The only car that I consider better than the MX-5 roadster is the RF version!
Great review. Love the looks of the RF version. Smoothest clutch/shifting I've ever driven was in a Miata. Loved the short throw.
Spot on review. He “gets” the MX5. Many don’t.

Fantastic review. I’ve never seen a miata video this good. Wow
Thanks for this entertaining review. Please don't change that. Cheers from Germany
It's a really good looking car in person, got to test drive one from a customer's car.
Hey man, your reviews are among the best, keep up the good work!!!!
Most excellent effort on this review
Fantastic little car! Friend has a second gen! Dad at one point had a 1st gen and 3rd.
I absolutely loved this video. I'm buying a 2018 Miata for my Christmas/Birthday gift in December. I can't wait!
Love that! Let us know if we can be of any help. 😁
1st time out by myself, turned right into incoming traffic.
Appreciate the review. I've been a happy owner of a 2001 for just about 2 years. The RF looks amazing. It's out of my price range now, as I am in grad school. I can dream though...
One of the very few reviewers I'd watch even if I don't much care about the car. Do wish this had a smidge more power. They nailed the style though.
5:01 Who needs passive entry standard when you could reach over to unlock it
Ryan C it is a convertible
One of my favorite opening monologues
Love the filters! They give that rose-tinted glasses feel!
Such a cool car, the roof is amazing! Wish they'd make a Mazda 6 convertible, it would be amazing!
Just bought a 2012 m X5 Grand Touring for $12000 with 34000 miles on it the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.
I prefer the targa look of the RF. I mean, how much practicality do you really need when buying a car like this??
I'm just here for Micah, cos I can't afford this car.
Same.
Yeah. Me 10 minutes ago: "I've seen all the reviews for cars I might actually get. Let's see what Micah's reviewed that would be fund to watch him review."

GT6SuzukaTimeTrials ...unless you live in MA where everything is too goddam expensive LOL
I thought the same. Now I got one.
Another great review man.

Love the quadcopter shots. Someone can sure fly that thing.
Awesome. Just an awesome review man. my dream car review done right.
By the way what soundtrack is playing behind the video. I love it so much.
Charming, funny, and almost a love letter.
I see why you are the Managing Editor - Video. Very good review.

A little off topic, but where do I get that small lumbar support pad?
My neighbor just got this same one, same color and everything, it looks good, a lot more expensive looking than it is. He's pretty tall too and seems happy with it. It's a good looking cheaper midlife crisis car. HA HA
Awe! That was too stinking cute at the end!
this lumbar cushion seems perfect, could you put the amazon link of the model in concrete?
This was a great review. Not a huge fan of the music, but the content was spot on.
I would like to see a side by side comparison of the ND RF v/s the NC PRHT. Space wise, the PRHT has the RF beat IMO.
Is there a sport option for more horsepower? I know it's a small car but 150hp? Would be nice if they released something with at least 200+...
G Kang yup, there are two options for solving the 150 hp, Turbo or Supercharger
The "sport" option is a 3-day driving school to teach you how to drive. (sold separately)
Ceramic Metallic Paint; Black Roof and Wheels; BBR Upgrade Performance offered in the UK without threatening the Warranty and im down.... Yet i forgot my 6´5 frame wouldn't fit inside.
That music at the end was chilling
I feel like I've seen this review before, but it was just posted today... Did you make edits and repost???
turbo311 this was never posted...
Teighlour Swyftte It must have been posted somewhere else? I know I've seen the video bc he talked about the lumbar support pillow and the small passenger footwell. There's other familiarities. I saw it more than a week ago.
Good sense of humor!
Is this a racing car? And is it fast enough like a Toyota 86?
Great review!
Masdaspeed 3 fixes all these issues for an owner. Drop a turbo on the mx5 engine and you might get 200hp safely and usable.
This Video made me smile.
You guys need more subs
Remember when this guy was reviewing video games on G4?
Your t shirt says it all 👍
be sure to look at the suburu brz if interested in this
End of the video was cute.
I’m going to trade my Acura ILX for a mx-5 just can’t decide on hard top or soft top
Gabriel Rogers go for softtop. It's lighter, cheaper to buy, cheaper to repair if it breaks, and you get a real convertible
this is my dream car
Natsu Dragneel Made my dreams reality bought a 2012 grand touring . Can't stop smiling
I picking between miata 2017 or subaru wrx sti 2004
Natsu Dragneel personally mine is an astin martin vanquish. But I saw someone at work who had a mazda Q50 infiniti so I've been looking up mazda vids lmao
Better than new top gear
That's no great achievement
I wonder if the last stunt Micah pulled with the baby in the car, was actually approved by the wife lol.
wife doesn't have to know. I did things like that when driving my daughter to the daycare every morning, in a stick accord though.
Here in Perú, it sales for almost the same as a Subaru impureza wrx. I'll go for the Subaru.
The British sports car that the British didn't build
If the price goes down under 30k or Mazda put a little more horsepower (around 200). either way hella good :)
Please keep an eye out for people on Electric Scooters. Share the road...
NO glove compartment???
Miguel Ircontar nope. It's a common roadster thing. My 350z hard top doesn't have one either
Coal Durnehviir cool man you have a 350z :D
There's one between the seats
I like the RF but it adds more weight.
Like what, 200lbs? It’s a non-problem-problem.
I wanna like this video every time I see it. Too sad I only get one.
Narrowing my list. This, Audi TT or Toyota GT86?
i have this car and i love it!
Awesome! What color? 😍
Kelley Blue Book dark gray. I just recently got it! And before this I had a 3rd generation Miata in midnight blue. :)))
That's not the convertible. Its the "fast back' which is no more a convertible than a T-Top Camaro.
@2:03 "Haa! .... Oh." LOL
Just too much money for a weekend toy without telescoping wheel. I love the engine in this car. Sounds fantastic and loves to rev. That said, the used market is this cars worst enemy at this price
I need one!
@4:00 I know I'm one, so who are the other two?
that would be me
I still like the Fiat 124 Spider better. It's smoother, quieter, and awesome styling.
The fergie joke lol
That ending with micas kid was so damn precious
And it will be.
155hp?! Still more than my Toyota Corolla ☹️
Review the new camry
Reminds me of old corvettes
it's RWD right ??? :D I hope this some days comes to India :P !!! I hope it's costs same as a jetta for 20lakhs !
