They need to take the border lighting for the SL merge it with the blade light of the AL - they'll have a REAL winner.
Because honestly, the SL120's border lighting is one of a kind.

Why be worried about the looks of the blade. It’s moving at 500-1900rpms lol. These look miles better than the sl’s. That octagonish lighting is kind of meh and the rears look like trash.

I’m surprised it took this long for a company to make something like this. It just seems like a no brainer now that someone has. I’m sure it’s much harder for another company to design something similar without violating copyrights©
I love the AL’s over those jagged SL’s too. They’re much more aesthetically pleasing and more subtle. Plus the rear looks a million times better with the x and no ugly sticker.

THESE FANS ARE BEAUTIFUL! Yeah, getting excited about fans is odd but these are great. I was still in the return period after getting 10 Corsair QL120s and the dead spots around the rings just could not be ignored (dead areas between the LEDs, not dead LEDs). Everything described and shown here is spot on. These also work with SignalRGB. The Corsairs look slightly more like the effects because of all the lights. For example, the QL120s do better when there are distinct objects like the radar effect but the AL120s work really well with anything that acts like fire, brimstone, etc. which just work better with the AL120s. Thanks for your video, you made me much happier with my new AL120s and saved me almost $200.

Great video! The only thing I don’t like is you lose the side lighting profile when coming from SL, but you gain so much more in terms of aesthetics and even airflow. Great job again Lian Li, take more of my money!

    • @ghost_ib9928

True,if the lighting on the sides was carried forward from the SL,the AL's would be the perfect fans, but nonetheless they're still very good

I personally prefer the smaller curved accents on the AL over the jagged partial octagon on the SL’s. They both look great but I feel like the SL’s are much more popular too. I’ve seen hundreds of o11’s with those (the funniest and most hypocritical part is that I’m installing the AL’s in my o11 haha) It’s just such a sleek look. Plus I love the x over the curved backing on the SL. They both are awesome either way though.

I’d disagree. These have way better aesthetics IMO. I guess it would depend on the case. That octagon rgb just looks jagged and jarring. Plus the backs of the fans look miles better on the AL. How would you go about installing these fans on a different brand AIO? For example should I just connect the PWN Fan Cable from the Lian Li Fans to the CPU Fan Header? Or do I need to plug the Lian Li PWN Fan Cable to the AIO Pump First? Because my AIO has 3 x PWN Fan Cables and 1 x RGB

I think I have set up everything just like you in the video with the exception of using CPU_FAN instead of SYS_FAN for the Lian Li fan controller. Is that a problem? Also no single fan is connected to the breakout cable of my NZXT Z53. It's only connected to FAN_PUMP. Am I missing something?
I could plug the single exhaust case-fan into SYS_FAN or should this one also go into the controller together with the 2 radiator fans?

    2nd question-
Can I hook the controller to the cpu fan header if I'm using a AIO... or am I supposed to have 2 controllers. 1 for the AIO and the other for standard system fans.

@@TheProvokedPrawn ah am glad well maybe am unlucky but other issues are the hub box man the wires it's designed as such you need to yank some of the cables to remove them. The build is so so bad. Now okay I don't look at it everyday or open it I can overlook it. Now the software gosh. It blocks the ctrl shift t key combo system wide. The software needs to on for mobo sync too. Now finally they released L Connect 2 but that installs to diff folder, doesn't work with original SL 120(unmarked hubs). Had to dig through reddit to get firmware updates for the hub and then it started working. Again no auto update, no single place to download software, documents. LConnect 2 download is only on AL 120 page. In all LL products, cases are a premium top notch world class, rest feels budget and those deep cool like stuff.

You get what you pay for. Pay up a tad more and get rid of a bunch of nonsense cable management and multiple controllers (if you have a lot of fans). These have a more original look to them imo than Corsair. Corsair needs to step up their game with the setup.

@@buxtech I'm strictly speaking about RGB. I'd rather go with Corsair which has waaay more effects and more mature software. These look like regular RGB fans that you buy in a 3 pack for $28 if I'm being brutally honest and its only saving grace is less cable. Also agreed, Corsair needs to update their stupid setup process for these fans, if they can do so and deliver the same RGB effects, at the same price then it's gonna be tough for Lian li. Also you mention less controllers; uk if you buy Lian li strimmer+ cables like the 24pin one, you get a controller with it and it's not integrated in their software. So you get two big ass controllers in your case.
