And i really cant complain about the quality of the fans, they are doeing their job. Good quality/price ratio aswel. Thx for previous reviews on Lian Li products. I have the build now that i wanted
THESE FANS ARE BEAUTIFUL! Yeah, getting excited about fans is odd but these are great. I was still in the return period after getting 10 Corsair QL120s and the dead spots around the rings just could not be ignored (dead areas between the LEDs, not dead LEDs). Everything described and shown here is spot on. These also work with SignalRGB. The Corsairs look slightly more like the effects because of all the lights. For example, the QL120s do better when there are distinct objects like the radar effect but the AL120s work really well with anything that acts like fire, brimstone, etc. which just work better with the AL120s. Thanks for your video, you made me much happier with my new AL120s and saved me almost $200.
Great video! The only thing I don’t like is you lose the side lighting profile when coming from SL, but you gain so much more in terms of aesthetics and even airflow. Great job again Lian Li, take more of my money!
I personally prefer the smaller curved accents on the AL over the jagged partial octagon on the SL’s. They both look great but I feel like the SL’s are much more popular too. I’ve seen hundreds of o11’s with those (the funniest and most hypocritical part is that I’m installing the AL’s in my o11 haha) It’s just such a sleek look. Plus I love the x over the curved backing on the SL. They both are awesome either way though.
I really do love your reviews . I have come across your channel while trying to install into a 5000d with Elite Capellix 150i. After watching your review i did grab myself some more Corsair fans and have gone to a 13 fan setup :) Lian Li is a good brand with cases . I do use the Strimer Plus set in my case from Lian Li. Quite happy with it esthetically .Never though have bought or experienced any other equipment. For me its just Corsair . I do believe to go with only one brand for better synchronizing Pls do keep up the amazing reviews !
For me, if the intake center piece on the SL120 was like the front, I would prefer the SLs without a doubt. As it is, I'm going with 3 ALs on the side and 3 SL on the top
I wish they would have just added the hub fans from the AL120 to the SL120. I love the lighting on the SL on the sides but they needed the hub lights also.
Theres a new version of the al120v2 apparently because my cables are slightly different and also the intake side of the fans are different as well if you can believe that. I checked like 7 times i have the correct al120v2 3b sets. The two cables you have coming off the end there on the end of the 3 set you got... thats just one big cable now.
I do prefer the sl120 looks though. That’s one of the reasons I picked them over other fans for my lian li case. Second was the cables🤤 but I guess these are cool aswell, but if I had to choose just for the looks it would be the sl120s ngl. Good review as always!😍
I’d disagree. These have way better aesthetics IMO. I guess it would depend on the case. That octagon rgb just looks jagged and jarring. Plus the backs of the fans look miles better on the AL. I mean I’d honestly take either over other argb fans but I just think these have a slight edge (or less of one haha) over the SL.
How would you go about installing these fans on a different brand AIO? For example should I just connect the PWN Fan Cable from the Lian Li Fans to the CPU Fan Header? Or do I need to plug the Lian Li PWN Fan Cable to the AIO Pump First? Because my AIO has 3 x PWN Fan Cables and 1 x RGB
I think I have set up everything just like you in the video with the exception of using CPU_FAN instead of SYS_FAN for the Lian Li fan controller. Is that a problem? Also no single fan is connected to the breakout cable of my NZXT Z53. It's only connected to FAN_PUMP. Am I missing something? I could plug the single exhaust case-fan into SYS_FAN or should this one also go into the controller together with the 2 radiator fans?
Question, My main question if I use 1 controller, am I able to set (Zone 1 AIO) Fan speeds let's say 1200rpm. And then Zone 2,3 & 4 to Quiet 800rpm... or would I need 2 controllers. 2nd question- Can I hook the controller to the cpu fan header if I'm using a AIO... or am I supposed to have 2 controllers. 1 for the AIO and the other for standard system fans. Plan to have 13 fans total in a lian li 011 evo.
can i use the box from the SL120mm or would I have to install the whole new box? Hoping to just replace the SL120 and still use the box and cables so its a fast swap.
what's better, these fans or the corsair ML's or the Corsair QL's or the Corsair LL's (if there is such an LL?)? thanks so much guys!!!! ALSO, for a case that has spaces between the fans that is not spaced closely like these would have to be, how in the world is that going to work?

I only have one ARGB header and would like to use both sets of fans with the ARGB. If not, would an ARGB splitter work by connecting the controllers to the splitter? Thanks. (Also if the splitter thing would work what's a good brand)
On the fan connection where it has that RGB address if you don’t have a 5 V RGB on your motherboard, do you plug that fan connection into the system fan
Is the PWM feature finally working properly when you sync to the mobo? or is it still worth just plugging PWM straight to fan inputs instead of the controller?
Too bad the PWM feature still doesn’t work. I have 10 SL120s in my case, set to PWM in L-Connect, fan header set to PWM in BIOS and the Uni Hub doesn’t even register in BIOS. Such a shame that awesome hardware can’t work at all because of bad software.
Thanks for the video, I've one question I'm building from a long time so bare with me. Is there a way to set fan speed to auto so they will speed up or down depending from temps? Thanks!
You can do that in the software. And usually within your motherboard software too with PWM mode and setting a fan curve. So they ramp up when needed and down again when not.
So if I have my SL FANS already connected to my controller and I connect AL FANS to that same controller, will it recognize them as AL FANS? Or do I have to add an additional controller?
I dont think so, from what I have seen the controllers are both labeled as either SL or AL, and the software detects what fans based off the controller. They would still be able to light but it would just be the SL lighting options
So if I need to use 2 for my radiator. Can I plug them direkt to CPU fan? And only plug in the rbg in the hub? Or do the fans power connection be in the fan hub for it to work?
