It should hurt! What they're pretending to not understand is that a demonstration comes after unaddressed complaints of unfairness over time. Crash or not, the results are the same for workers, they don't care anymore.

As always Jamaica is always reactive instead of being proactive. These hotels operate in Jamaica because of cheap labor and below standard labor laws . As the biggest sector protocols should be in place to make sure the workers are compensated properly.

@@willjohn4286 Exactly. All that happens is that the governments accept just about an investment coming in. They however don't think about the interest of workers. It is like signing away the rights of workers to investors. Not only in the hotel industry.

They jump into action when there is a strike. Why not listen to the workers before they strike. Workers will talk talk talk and they don't listen. When the embarrassment of the strikes come they pretend as if they were listening.

The fact that there is no leadership from the sector in the comments section unless its to say something disrespectful and insensitive speaks volumes. Clearly these managers and directors have never read "the seven habits of highly effective people" - by Stephen Covey
In the book, Covey explains the importance of a principle he called the P/PC. Where he underscores the importance of balance between production and the production capacity of employees in a business entity.

Note also, that those among us who refuse to pay a fair price for the services that these hotels offer are sadly and unintentionally part of the problem. Excellence is costly and the overhead operational expenses in the Hotel and tourism industry are extremely high and profit margins are small. Times are rough and your hard earned salaries are not easy to come by, but be mindful of these things when using the services of this industry.

These workers has been treated like they are slaves. And there is'nt any one to stand up for them. Where is the labor board, they dont care about theese workers. God please help those poor people, slavery will never abolish.
