This video is clear and straightforward and filmed adequately, it has inspired me to do the operation on my own e60, although i had to clean the groove very thoroughly to remove grease and dirt, i also had a shop vac to get the debris out. Last difference is i used a plastic bike tire remover instead of the metal screwdriver and not only did it remove the fear to scratch anything, its curved ending made it a breeze to push the seal in.
Unbelievable!! Dealer quoted me 1500 for new window and seals, just in case they broke the rear glass taking it out. After watching this video and 1 other, had the seal out, cleaned and installed new seals all between rain showers in the PNW. Thanks for the great video.
I buggered my rear seal ffffsakes it's difficult to put in..we'll when i got it from my bro inlaw he brought it over with him in his suitcase and it didnt look straight when i got it so makes the dame thing hard to mold around the windscreen have to buy another one
hello, great video. But don't the seals have to be attached with sealing glue or something like that? and is it the right way to put the seals on the E60 because I would be worried when it rains, and when it rains no water comes in?
Hi, no glue needed. This is the correct way, just use plastic stick or something put it in to avoid paint damage. No leaks even after car wash as window has its own glass glue.
I went to ask Safelite and they said you need to replace the whole window lol what a joke. I ran out of there. Thanks to this guy I’ll do it myself! Cheers.
Any idea how to check if windshield is with climate control laminate or not for rear window? My window stamping is exactly same like yours but have no idea if its laminated. DOT27AS2M23100 & 43R001057. Please share if you know how to differentiate.

Get yourselves a pry tool. That’ll help faster and safer to prevent cracking the window.
Does anyone have OEM number for lower rear window seal? Good job on install! 😊
Thanks! This is the number: 51317115412

how about using some washing-up liquid to make it easier for the seal to slide into position?
Maybe 🤔

Does water leak in here?
No leaks
Watched this video now I feel stupid for how simple this was 😢
Appreciate the video, but please don’t use a screwdriver 🪛. A plastic trim tool works much better.
Thank you for watching! No more screwdrivers ;)
