Spies that are good at trickstabbing are crafty with how they close distance on you. For example, if a spy is trying to shoot you, you would try to strafe side to side to avoid being hit, after that the spy sneaks into melee range and switches to their knife at the last second to trickstab you by suprise.
@RhinoSea What he’s saying is totally true. People drop their guard when fighting a spy in a gun 1v1, which gives the spy the occasional chance to backstab. If the spy has the knife out from the beginning, the enemy focuses more on keeping distance rather than killing the spy quickly
I'd understand if they had the reflexes and turned to you, and still got stabbed. But they literally had no reaction to seeing a Scout strife beside them.
It's not that easy to concentrate on all things. Healing, checking for ammo and health, dealing damage, strafing and other stuff won't get you look only for sus scouts.
@@uryan55y48 its because they get trickstabbed. they predict the spys movements and track the movements but the spy is feeding false predictions meaning in a split second they are tracking nothing and the spy stabs them. but the important thing is they think they are still perfectly tracking the spy. it may seem obvious on video and upon revision. but to them they genuinely feel it was a face stab even though they clearly turn away at the last second.
Thanks for the sub! I will certainly continue to make videos like this. They are fun to make and there is a demand for them. (This video did better in 48 hours then most of my videos ever do). They take a little while as I need to come across streamers and I don't want to stream snipe, but I hope my other content will keep you entertained in the meantime.
@@BOScrazydog I agree I dont think stream sniping should be the way to go channel wise. I liked this video because it all seemed natural. You were hunting them but at the same time you werent:) Thanks for doing what you do. I will check out your other content for sure:)

nah as a spy main anytime someone trickstabs me instant respect because i like to think i can make it quite the challenge for spies to trickstab me so when they pull it off, respect to them
If you trickstab zesty jesus he baby rages it's so funny i got him a few times when he was with aar, but i am going to hell for stream sniping so it was a fair trade off
I'm a spy main with 150 hours on spy. I've watched videos on the mechanics of spy, including CRD's 5-part series on circlestrafing multiple times. Stabs like the one at 4:06 make sense to me, because even the streamer could _feel_ the spy at his side - the spy isn't where he looks like he is. But the stab at 4:37. I genuinely cannot see a single explanation for it. It can't be ping, because they were both looking at each other for the entire time and moving in a straight line. It can't be the server mispredicting rotations, because he was turning in the direction of the spy for the entire time. It makes utterly no sense at all.
It was a very fast flick to the side. When you see a spy and turn in his direction imagine it happening on the spy's screen about 0.5 to 1s after it happens on your screen. If a spy knows where you are going to look and move he can position himself aggressively to get a backstab that requires a close up and precise angle. I have a lot of hours on spy and TF2. That is why some spies do more than others because they pursue backstab chances that are ballsy
@@josepht2516 oh, that actually makes sense Sometimes I forget there's _always_ a mismatch between where a spy seems to be and where he actually is - it's not just when backpedalling
Basically, don't trickstab. As you play soy, you'll naturally develop some trickstab skills, but even then, it's usually more consistent to use your revolver to kill chasing enemies and get low-health key picks. Less risky.
@@vinnie4609 I recommend you give the ambu another try. It has decent burst damage from close to medium range, and you would be surprised at how clutch and useful instantly dealing 102 damage really is.
actual question, why is big joey playing with like 70 fov I swear this doesnt feel like 90, I feel like I can see much more stuff on my screen when I go monki (heavy)
This dude's misdirection skills are so good that, watching from the enemy perspective, you could swear he's straight up teleporting around.
people dont seem to realize that its probably not the best idea to engage a spy at melee range

I'm not gonna complain 🥰🥰
2:32 this scout just wanted to get heals but he thought that's the spy. After he realized that he is on his team the scout got rekt so hard 😂🤣

Trickstabbing is respectful, but it's kinda grind everyones gear when you got sliced
Anyways koolvid

Reasons to not blame spies if you get trickstabbed:
1.) You kinda fell for it
2.) That takes some time to pull off

I don't know how far along you are playing spy, so here's a general answer.
