As aa standalone movie, infinity war is better then endgame since its more action packed. However, endgame is, well the endgame. The ending of an era started with Iron Man in 2007. Its a tribute for fans that have been since the early days of the MCU, and therefore for those endgame is better.
The people you left before credits really missed the greatest credits in the MCU history.
